RnR circus or Love songs?

In the post NEXT LEVELīs era, which album you prefer?

IMO Love songs is better, BUT RnR circus is really good too.

*Ayu_Freak* 20th December 2010 06:57 PM

Love Songs!!!!
I donīt like RnRC so much

Mirrorcle Monster 20th December 2010 06:59 PM

RnR C...for me is just EPICNESS

love in music 20th December 2010 07:01 PM

Love Songs.. I love every single track. RnRC is great too but some of the tracks are just not on the same level as ones on Love Songs.
another reason I prefer Love Songs to RnRC is that to me, pop > rock. it always has been for me, even if ayu's rock songs are totally amazing.. pop is my 1 true love and Love Songs is like the perfect pop album to me~

sugarbasil 20th December 2010 07:07 PM

RnRC is in her top 3 albums for me. Love Songs is like...the absolute worse album she has ever made, in my totally honest opinion. I couldn't dislike anything more.

Michan 20th December 2010 07:13 PM

I think RnRC and Love Songs have different concept of music so I can't compare then because RnRC is more "pop-rock" album and is really good (I love Last Links and countdown) but isn't consistent and I feel is kinda a lost at some point but I don't think ayu have a really good album with this kind of style (for me GUILTY is what does a better results comparing with RnRC and Secret). Love Songs has totally different purpose and style because is more classical, elegant and with a bit of rock on. I think is very cohesive and consistent album and accomplished the purpose of talking about differents types of love without being corny and without the typical winter ballads. Musically, for me is a refined version of MY STORY with a bit of LOVEappears/I am...
So for my taste of music Love Songs does a better result than RnRC ^^

tokyoxjapanxfan 20th December 2010 07:17 PM

Love songs makes RnRC look like garbage, in my absolute honest opinion. :)

And people can disagree with me all they want. RnRC just has no appeal to me. While I may love Lady Dynamite and You were..., as an album, it's just not good.

dreamland2.0 20th December 2010 07:20 PM

Love Songs for sure!!!

marekcarey 20th December 2010 07:22 PM

Ls!

Oniisan 20th December 2010 07:29 PM

Love songs, definatelyyy~~~~
But RnRC is amazing too!

toniayu 20th December 2010 07:31 PM

both...i can't judge yet,we only have love songs since 2 days...

PoetGirl 20th December 2010 07:40 PM

They are amazing in their own right. RnRC offers so many, while Love songs are cohesive. I enjoy songs like crossroad and Love song more than the best of RnRC. the best of RnRC for me was Dont look back, You were, BALLAD, Sunset and Sunrise. I think what crossroad and Love song have and songs on RnRC dont have is that epic feel. RnRC is good and Love songs are amazing, epic and master piece. I even think Love songs is my second fav ayu album *_* (first is - Duty <3 )

kalikagai 20th December 2010 07:40 PM

RnRC

Picaflor 7/4 20th December 2010 08:55 PM

As a whole album I go with Love songs. As individual tracks, I go with Rock n Roll Circus.

Love songs is so cohesive and whole. It does a very well job at combining ballads with dance songs. It feels right as it's own album. Rock in Roll Circus did a terrible job at that. microphone, sexy little things, don't look back, you were, ballad, sunrise. It felt like a bunch of random songs thrown together and tried too hard to make it look like a "circus" of songs.

Individual songs wise, I like rnrc. It has hard rock microphone, arabic dlb, and crazy fun slt. Last links is very beautiful acoustic/violin wise and lady dynamite is sexy and raunchy fun. Individually, I could see each of these songs as singles. Love songs feels like it should be single-less. with the exception of 1 or 2 songs, none of the songs really seem to stand out on the album.

Bubbly 20th December 2010 09:00 PM

Love Songs for me =)

miroro 20th December 2010 09:14 PM

i think i'll choose Love Songs:yes
maybe because it's more pop oriented and.. well, i'm a pop lover :laugh the flow is amazing, the new songs have one of her best arrangements ever!!

but still, RnRC had something epic in it! and i love it a lot too <3

jean-baptiste 20th December 2010 10:02 PM

R&RC is awesome. i loved it. but it's a bit generic. Love songs is amazing!! i think it's her best album since i don't know when. it flows smoothly, and the songs sound like really good quality. it seems like she put a lot of work into it. Love songs definitely.

Yum!Fruit_Salad! 20th December 2010 10:17 PM

Love songs easily. This is the release I've been waiting for two years. RnRC to me is her third worst album.

adantatu2 21st December 2010 12:31 AM

Love songs is better!!
i love every song in Love songs, is her best album in the last years!
With RnRC, i hate meaning of Love, Last links and countdown! But i love Don't look back, Microphone and SLT.

Love songs = 9.5
Rock'n'Roll Circus = 8

pommy48 21st December 2010 12:35 AM

Love songs definitely! I barely liked Rock'n'Roll Circus while I like most of the songs on Love songs!

Cherry Dynamite 21st December 2010 12:37 AM

When Rock'n'Roll Circus came out I thought it was one of her best but when the anticipation and excitement died down, I thought there's really nothing new and it's not as special as I thought it was and well I don't listen to it anymore. Anyway what I'm saying is I might say that I adore Love songs now but after a month who knew, I might think it's a disaster.

But as of now I can say that I like Love songs more.

Larisa-chan 21st December 2010 01:39 AM

Love Songs...

While Rock'n'Roll Circus has more standout tracks than Love Songs (Microphone, Don't Look Back, Lady Dynamite, Sexy Little Things), the quality of music is as a whole is much stronger and more mature in Love Songs (all of her album tracks including Thank U). Rock'n'Roll Circus had some weak, forgettable songs (please don't kill me) like Sunrise~Love is All~, Red Line ~for TA~, Meaning of Love, Last Links (sorry everyone), You Were...

do it again 21st December 2010 02:22 AM

Love songs. There isn't a single track I dislike.

I'm not really fond of Last Links, Sunset, or Lady Dynamite. The interludes are worse too.

se7entheaven 21st December 2010 02:29 AM

RnRC FTW, it has this masterpiece Microphone. Love songs has Love song but it's not as strong

Yeah, Love songs doesn't really have a standout WHAM BAM FIERCE song like Microphone, but the rest of the tracks have such beautiful arrangements and I really find it more interesting the R'n'R. So Microphone wins over most if not all songs on Love songs but as a whole, Love songs is better I think.

emi♡ 21st December 2010 02:40 AM

idk...

I think I like more individual tracks on RnRC...like microphone, dont look back, count down, last links, even slt...but that's it lol from rnrc...

on love songs...like I really only like the album tracks, Love Song, Like a Doll, Do it Again, and November...and then Last Angel...

but then, they really arent songs that I'm going to listen to like the RnRC songs, because for me, they're too "specialized"...hard for me to explain that.

But I think....as much as the cohesiveness is there, I really cant listen to these songs outside of the album...i think...

and as much as I love the darker side of the music, on both albums...RnRC is more listen-able for me...Love Songs...just doesnt really reflect what I want to listen to, and how I want to feel right now...

but in any case, they're just...not really listenable on their own, individually as songs...for me....not in the way that any of her other music has been. idk, I just don't feel like they're strong tracks that way.

But like I feel the songs are good for the album, and for ayu, and like for what she wants to do...but I wont be listening to them...

yeah...sorry lol

For which album is "better" um...I think they're equal. They both have their pros and cons, but they're both good albums for ayu.

Biscuit 21st December 2010 03:39 AM

She should have named it Love Songs >>>>> RnR Circus, because IT IS.

Sorry, but RnRC blew chunks. Anyone who thinks it is one of her best albums ever is not a serious Ayu fan or is a newbie Ayu fan. For me, nothing can ever touch the perfection that is I am... and Loveppears and Duty are pretty untouchable too.

I found RnRC to be such a huge disappointment. I didn't think she could make an album worse than My Story, but then there is RnRC. At least My Story had a couple of songs on it I liked. RnRC is toilet worthy.

mellody 21st December 2010 03:45 AM

Rock 'n' Roll Circus is much better for me.

Most of the new tracks in Love songs lacks of climax I think. And then if you judging from the lyrics, RnRC lyrics is way stronger than Love songs. (Though the flow of RnRC is worse than Love songs, Love songs has better flow for me.)

I know what you mean by lacks climax. But the more I listen the more I appreciate the songs for what they are. R'n'R's climaxes I felt were so boring and not fully there as well.

I have to say my love for November just keeps growing and growing.

My favorite part is like 1:00 into Sending mail right before the repetitive chorus part though. The lyrics for that part and her emotion in the way she sings it - it sounds so hopeful but sad at the same time. Favorite section(s) in the entire album even though November is my favorite song.

SURREAL__RAINBOW 21st December 2010 04:46 AM

Both might have pros and cons, just like every other album I guess.

I still need to get the essence of Love songs, so far it has this mythic feeling to it which I like a lot, but at the same time RnRC was so good with Microphone, count down, and the other album tracks.

I still need some time to decide! :P

waterballoon 21st December 2010 04:48 AM

Love songs, duh. and just because Love songs has a more mature and complex musicality, it owns.

I love Lady Dynamite though, a lot <3

gogirlanime 21st December 2010 04:58 AM

They are about the same for me, I like the same amount of tracks for each one 6-7 tracks I like on each album. They both have very different flavors. R&RC has one of my favorite Ayu songs of all time so far on it, Microphone, and then there is Don't look back with is also excellent, then I like You were... and RED LINE ~for TA~ But I love "Love song" "Do it again" "crossroad" "November" "Like a doll" and "Last angel". I like more tracks on Love Songs but I like the few tracks I do like on R&RC more... Love Songs is growing on me slowly but surely.

In a nutshell: about the same, but Love Songs will grow into me more than R&RC

Winner: Love Songs

Kinda true, maybe because Love songs is more 'love themed' so it's more gentle and soft, doesn't need a powerful vocals like several songs in RnRC (Microphone & Last Links for example) which is more rock oriented. I'm not used to Love songs which I said lacks of climax, maybe I will appreciate this album in different way.

Love song, still the best album track for me, because it's simply amazing with those instrumental and maybe the only album track I like so far from Love songs. Also, I wish they have the instrumental only tracks from this album, though I didn't enjoy most of the songs, but I love the instrumentals.

CHE.R.RY 21st December 2010 10:03 AM

RnRC is better imo...it was just so epic with a diverse mix of some stuff we were used to hearing from Ayu along with unique and different sounds we weren't accustomed to. To me, it was just such a fun and exciting album.

Tbh, I was really worried about Love songs when I listened to the previews because the songs sounded really generic from the previews. I was pleasantly surprised to find that Love songs was actually a VERY solid album after listening to it in its entirety. The album has a fresh and fairly mature sound to it. The more I listen to it the more I am learning to appreciate it.

However, RnRC is more my style. Plus, the two are really hard for me to compare since they are so vastly different and on two different levels.

SunshineSlayer 21st December 2010 10:13 AM

I've gotta say Love Songs, since RnRC is the only Ayu album in history that has a whole section I always skip over. (the ballads at the beginning and then also Meaning of Love at the end) and Last Links and SLT I'm just kinda 'meh' about.

Emiko....lol. But I totally get what you are trying to say.

Max_ZZZ 21st December 2010 10:23 AM

RnRC definitely. noooo question about it '-___-

miskiq 21st December 2010 10:34 AM

in terms of PV I prefer RnRC while overall i prefer Love songs..
disappointed with Love songs PVs (the newer PVs) eventhough I like Virgin Road PV

Minttulatte 21st December 2010 10:34 AM

I love both albums equally.

Of course Rock'n'Roll Circus has really bad interludes on it while Love songs probably has the best since tasking and Not yet imo but still there's something really cool about both albums. It could be because I began fall in love with Ayu again when the singles of Rock'n'Roll Circus came out so that may be main reason why I absolutely adore this album. I'd say that this album saved my fandom in most part. :)

As for Love songs I love the epicness and emotional atmosphere around it. It's like the old Ayu has returned finally. I simply cried when I listened to Love songs (oh yeah as if I didn't cry when I listened to Rock'n'Roll Circus lol; I Did but not as much as when I listened to Love songs). I love the theme of this album, it's like LOVEppears has reincarnated for this album and I think it's amazing. I also realized that Last angel actually has the same feeling WHATEVER has on it which made the album even more amazing.

But the point is that I love both albums equally. Years 2009 and 2010 has been good years for Ayu. I've loved most of the stuff she has released, and I hope she will have this kind of amazeness in her music in 2011 as well. <3

HilaryDuffFanboy 21st December 2010 12:06 PM

Love songs has much better singles but the album tracks drag it down immensely.
RnR Circus was better for me, Microphone is her best song of the year, Love Song is right up there though.

sanzo2011 21st December 2010 12:10 PM

I like both equally ! maybe i like Love songs a bit more !

chestergringo 21st December 2010 12:11 PM

Love songs is better, BUT RnR circus is really good too. [2]

ayu_ready? 21st December 2010 01:59 PM

I absolutely didn't like RnRC but Love songs sound much like her old stuff
I love her old stuff more, so Love songs for sure :)

AyUmIXx 21st December 2010 02:54 PM

i used to think RnRC was the best album since MY STORY..but Love songs is much better than RnRC..
i love Love songs more :)

voltron 21st December 2010 03:29 PM

Love Songs, totally! It's such a cohesive album, with really high production value -- both songs and PVs. Everything has such a refinement and largeness to it that someone of Ayu's career level should be putting out. Also, I think her voice is much better on this album, overall. I do miss a "big" ballad from this album, but there are enough mid-tempos to make it OK.

RNRC is one of, if not the, worst album in her discography to me. There are definitely songs on it that I like, but it's all over the place. They also feel very "moment in time" to me. Not that that is wrong per se, but I got over that album very quickly. After Next Level (which ended up growing on me after RNRC came out), I was really hoping for something of a redemption that RNRC didn't live up to.

xLuna&1LOVE 21st December 2010 09:21 PM

Well, first time I heard Love songs and it didn't blow my away and I already told AHS that it should grow on me. And it did.
So I can't really decide, and I don't know I should compare these albums, they are both so different. I listen to Love songs now and like it, but on the other hand I love Rock'n'Roll Circus as well.
But, the lyrics of Love songs are stronger, so: that's why I also go with the flow and vote for that album.

lilchan 22nd December 2010 12:44 AM

Love Songs all the way.

I deleted RnRC off my HD in a week.

I tried, but everything from pv to songs never grew on me.

Love Songs, while I didn't like the single songs too much, had stronger lyrics and album songs<3

Lora-Ayu 22nd December 2010 02:22 AM

RnRC for the better album this year. Though Love Songs have some good songs... But they don't strike me that much, I mean I listen to RnRC til now and I still love it.

ren'ai 22nd December 2010 02:47 AM

Rock'n'Roll Circus has amaaazing album tracks and Love songs has amaaaazing single tracks for me <3

Butttt as a whole, I go with R'n'R Circus. I have no care whatsoever for cohesiveness and whatnot so that did not matter to me. Cohesive for me = similar = boring. R'n'RC has a bit of everything and it makes me excited listening to it while Love songs makes me feel more.. relaxed.

JeiaYu 22nd December 2010 04:36 AM

I love RnR Circus 'cause it Pop/Rock Style but Love Songs is such an amazing lovely album^^ Difficult choice but I've voted 4 love songs!♥

Krushnic 22nd December 2010 05:36 AM

Love songs ♥

TITANIC 22nd December 2010 05:52 AM

Love Songs is a solid album because all the singles suit with the album theme. it looks like the album has been planned together with the singles
Y/W and S/S really have no connection with RnRC, I cant get the feeling of the album. its like a premature album with no theme to start with.

lumieregrl 22nd December 2010 05:59 AM

I love individual tracks on RnRC...and while all of the songs are good on some level, there are very few songs that I want to listen to repeatedly. How few? Four songs--Don't Look Back, Lady Dynamite, Sunrise, and BALLAD.

Now with Love songs...I keep looping the entire album. IMO, it is Ayu's best album to date, and my favorite pop album ever. I can't see myself growing tired of this album, and it will retain a special place in my heart.

C+R+E+AYUMI 22nd December 2010 08:35 AM

RnRC..i never thought i could say it but i have to

Mami-chan 22nd December 2010 09:32 AM

Love songs! In my opinion it's her best album since Secret. ^^ I love every single track and both melodies and lyrics are beautiful.
I loved RnRC too (except for Sunset, I always skip that track ;_;), but Love songs wins for me!

Nukaru 22nd December 2010 09:43 AM

Love Songs
There isn't a single song I don't like and the interludes are just.. awww <3

Jwiz 22nd December 2010 09:54 AM

Singles wise, Love Songs is more superior than RnRC.

Album tracks wise, Love Song is more superior than RnRC.

Both albums lacked something and RnRC seemed to be a forgettable album, not exactly an Ayu album to me :shrug

Isthan 22nd December 2010 02:48 PM

Love Songs.

Rock 'n' Roll Circus isn't too bad either, it has some good songs like BALLAD, Don't look back and You were.... I also liked the PVs for those three.

However, Love Songs is better to me. I like it's covers more, it's theme and most of all: it's consistency. The songs flow and blend together well. I simply love Love Song, Last angel, do it again, November and Virgin Road, also the PVs are cool. I'm very happy with it :).

I absolutely agree with you.

Like I always said, I really really dislike RnRC to a maximum. For me, it's not an Ayu album (to me, NEXT LEVEL wasn't a real Ayu album, either). Love songs is since Ayu's last 'real album' GUILTY her next album which is able to amaze me. Wonderful compilation of songs!

BUT, from RnRC era, I can say that I really loved "You were..." and "Microphone". They were good songs!

nanakopy87 22nd December 2010 03:40 PM

i don't know which one to choose.honestly,i dislike both album.the album tracks in Love songs are better than rnrc but when i try to listen to the whole album,i feel like its not flowing smoothly and its so flat.at least i still can feel some 'climax' or a story line in rnrc.

IMO,it might be better if rnrc mix with love songs. XD
when i listen to love songs,i keep on looking at the time (because i feel like i've been listening to the album for hours ,but actually i just listened to it for around 10minutes) it is so draggy .sorry to say that i don't think i'll listen to Love songs (except the love song itself) for the third time

lumieregrl 22nd December 2010 05:52 PM

I just wonder why Ayu didn't have this Love songs album for her 10th anniversary. Everything has been so pulled together this time. Oh well. XD

During that time, Perfume were on their peak, Electro-Pop was more mainstream and kind of a promising genre than ever before. It was just a clever idea of Avex to bring out an electro-pop based album of Ayu, so I guess, Love songs as 10th anniversary album would have been a bad idea.

dayumi 22nd December 2010 07:10 PM

I like both albums but I think Love songs is better.

RnRC songs are kinda forgettable, I only like Don't look back, meaning of Love, Sexy Little Things, Microphone and Lady Dynamite. I don't really like the singles from RnRC.

Love songs to me is a very good album. It flows very well and I love the singles and album tracks equally. Love song, Like A Doll, Sending Mail, Do It Again, Virgin Road, Sweet Season, Last Angel, and blossom are very good!

jbrat2219 22nd December 2010 07:51 PM

I think emiko said it best, RnRC works well for individual tracks, Love songs works better as a whole. But in my opinion, that's what makes them both really good. RnRC has strong tracks, but together they don't necessarily make a strong album. Love songs has a collection of songs that might not necessarily all be strong on their own, but when you put them together you have a very strong album.

Also, RnRC was more aggressive, music and lyric-wise. Love songs is more passive and progressive. You can tell that the way Ayu feels in the beginning is not the same as she feels at the end of the album.

In short, I enjoy both albums, but I'm going to have to go with Love songs. It's just a better "album" where as RnRC is a better "collection of songs" xD;
