[Ayu-mi-x 7] Remixer Background Information

Instead of studying, I've decided to spend my afternoon researching all of the Western remixers currently confirmed for Ayu's upcoming Ayu-mi-x 7 release. Also if this doesn't belong in the News section, please move it to the Chat room, but I thought people might be interested in this since it's a special project to us.

Ayu-mi-x 7 -version HOUSE-

Jonothan Peters
Couldn't find much on him, except that he's previously done some remixes for Kanariya, Seasons, Audience and Appears. (<-- Seasons is click-able for the link, couldn't find the other remixes on Youtube. There's a Dearest remix on Youtube as well but it's not listed on his website so not sure if it's really his).
Edit, here's some info from hsienko: You probably couldn't find anything because there's a typo, its Jonathan Peters with a "A". He's done remixes for famous acts like Ricky Martin and Whitney Houston as well as the PV remix for kanariya.

Hex Hector
He's quite a successful remixer. He mixed Mel C's I Turn To You (<-- click) which was a massive hit, I bet most of you guys from Europe know this song. He also made remixes for Madonna, J-Lo, Koda Kumi and previously with Ayu as well: Seasons, Boys & Girls, Kanariya, Far away and Endless Sorrow. All in 2001, so it's been a while.

Johnny Vicious
He's worked with a lot of famous people. He remixed Britney Spears' Gimme More and Piece Of Me (<-- both clicky!). He's done a lot more. Madonna's Celebration, BoA's Eat You Up and I Did It For Love, also Ayu's own M .

Razor N' Guido
Couldn't find a whole lot of 'em, this is one of their remixes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NmWFa8XpeKM
from hsienko: Razor N' Guido, is a remix service. They've created remixes for such acts as Madonna, BoA, Kylie Minogue and more. They also did a remix for Trauma on the A single.

Eric Kupper
He's worked with a lot of artists, including Ayu, Cher, Alicia Keys, Kylie, Miley Cyrus, Anastacia, etc. For example, this is his Duty remix: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rXpUAlfdMNE

Ayu-Trance 4
Marcel Woods
Dutch pride! Well I have to admit I'd never heard of him, but he is Dutch. I don't think he's worked with a lot of famous singers, he seems to make his most music himself I don't know. Well this is something random I found of him, it's pretty damn good: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UdB8w12w2_g

Alex M.O.R.P.H.
He's German and this is the only thing I could find: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dYAPC...layer_embedded

Push (Mike Dierickx)
He seems to produce most of his own music, although he has done some remixes before it seems. He's Belgian and he's played on some big venues, including Velfarre in Japan, which I'm pretty sure is the club where Ayu met Max Matsuura. Maybe she remembered his work and handpicked him for the album? This is his biggest hit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d33EyL966Hw

Public Domain
They're from Scotland, and this is one of their hits: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xdw4d12T_fU

Ramon Zenker
My favorite remixer out of the bunch! He's worked with Ayu before, and I think his WE WISH remix is one of the best remixes ever, definitely listen to this it's incredible. If everything else is crap, his remix will probably save the entire project lol. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eyI41K6UDcs

Groove Coverage
A German euro-trance band who have released their own studio albums, apparently this song was a hit. I'm loving it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ktDKqFhsSYk

Aly & Fila
A trance duo from Egypt. They also produce their own work, and apparently this song was received positively by major DJs like Armin van Buuren and Tiesto, so it's actually good: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MjLbqoIbCo4 (I just listened, and yes it's very good)

Dance Nation
Another Dutch group! They've had a big hit here (And maybe other countries as well?) with Sunshine in 2001. This song was actually quite famous here, I still remember it! It's very good, this is it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rQQB03Xap6o

Ronald van Gelderen
And the last one is Dutch as well. He's produced a lot, so here's something random: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sZRuqV74ijk

^^ Okay Okay...Back to studying now~~Hehehehe...thanks for the info...it's really informative~

Tasked 3rd February 2011 03:11 PM

The netherlands is SUCH a small country.. I wonder why most of the good DJs are dutch. Lol; it's half of Tokyo's Capital Region's population ;p. ^_^. Goed gedaan~~

jbrat2219 3rd February 2011 03:13 PM

^ The Netherlands may be small, but it's a great country with talented and wonderful people <3

AyuGAME 3rd February 2011 03:22 PM

thanks for sharing this...

Minttulatte 3rd February 2011 03:23 PM

Big yey for the awesome remixers of ayu-mi-x 7. I'm big fan of those remixes and I love their work. Awesome, addictive, beautiful perfection. :)

And good remixers for ayu trance 4 too. Awesome <3

murasakinohana 3rd February 2011 04:20 PM

Push has actually remixed Ayu's Boys & Girls before. I freakin' love that mix!!

Aww! :) She didn't even pick the best, she could've hired Tiesto and Armin van Buuren, lol. *in my dreams*

emi♡ 3rd February 2011 04:28 PM

Lots of familiar names this time around! It's really nice.

I think it's cool they're utilizing some of these older people. It'll be interesting to see what sound they all come up with~

I personally don't really mind that she didnt pick like Tiesto, or Ferry, or whoever...other people need to have their work recognized too.

thanks keiichi!

JackieRos 3rd February 2011 04:44 PM

Johnny Vicious also remixed Automatic by Utada Hikaru
I love that remix

Tasked 3rd February 2011 04:49 PM

yea, I even tweeted Ferry Corsten in dutch if he could do a mix.. but.. o well

perfectodub 3rd February 2011 05:13 PM

my only complain is that all that western djs are from the old-school of house
(and out of business a lot of them)
the world of music now have a new wave of talented and famous house djs, the sound of the 2010 house is incredible, so fresh and cool,
so hear names like peters, hector or Razor& guido is like ..."WAF!"

pd: i think the glitter (k-klub mix) is not gonna be included on this collection

RAZOR AND GUIDO made a remix for too late
RAZOR made remixes for evolution, and dearest (terrible remixes btw)

I've seen PUSH live, very good! Alex M.O.R.P.H is a great DJ as well, especially when it comes to remixes! His bassline is always very hard-hitting. Aly & Fila are huge - I can't wait to see how they breathe their own style of life into one of Ayu's works! That really will be interesting!

Still don't know how I feel about this project. I am almost positive half the songs on the album will be remixes that appeared in the past as many of these DJs have remixed her works before.

Peruseusu 3rd February 2011 06:40 PM

thx ^^

RyRyMini 3rd February 2011 06:50 PM

Push also remixed Connected.

I've considered this, and I checked this for some of the DJ's and their already-mixed Ayu songs don't coincide with the new track lists, so they HAVE to make a new remix. Didn't check for everyone, though. But wasn't it confirmed all tracks are new?

I'm pretty sure Razor N' Guido and RAZOR are not the same act.

xLuna&1LOVE 3rd February 2011 07:01 PM

Lovely job on the research! Thanks a lot!

Pieces_of_SEVEN 3rd February 2011 07:04 PM

Max matsuura already tweeted that the remixes will all be new.

I could've sworn that M.O.R.P.H. did some remixes of M... maybe on the german single?

I was right! track 2 on the german single. M - van Eyden vs. M.o.r.p.h. remix edit

ayufan- 3rd February 2011 07:13 PM

Yay, so much dutch people, i'm so proud to be dutch right now lol

love in music 3rd February 2011 07:26 PM

thanks so much for all the info!
from the HOUSE CD I only really care for remixes by Jonathan Peters & Eric Kupper but I'm impressed with all of them that will be remixing songs on the trance CD!

Yep same thoughts here, they really got some good people for Ayu-trance, I really couldn't have been more excited!!

Kingdom 3rd February 2011 08:41 PM

Jonothan Peters has worked with Koda Kumi before.

brener 3rd February 2011 10:22 PM

thank u and wow. ayu trance looks amazing

truehappiness 3rd February 2011 10:42 PM

This one blind Japanese piano prodigy, Nobuyuki Tsujii, is doing the piano arrangements on the Acoustic Orchestra mixes. Pretty cool~

For real though...:yes

Chibi-Chan 4th February 2011 02:35 PM

Thanks, that's interesting!

channy 4th February 2011 03:13 PM

Very, very helpfull, thanks! Many of these Dj names sound so familiar to me, because some years ago I didn't listen to anything else than ayu remixes for a decent period of time. This must have been my so called trance-addicted period, I suppose xD

I love the german remix singles, I listened to Connected, M and Depend on you for hundred of hours. Also "The Other Side Four" still is a must-be-on-my-mp3-player :3

Same for Dj Amaya's AyuTrance2007 and ayu-mi-x 6 -BLUE- (I think I played it nearly every day for almost 1 and a half year, like really excessive).

Plus ayu trance 1 to 3, they are also great but not as wonderful as the rest of the ayu trance remixes we have.

I am utterly excited about this huge package of new ayu remix albums... wow... T^T

hi-cko 4th February 2011 03:44 PM

Why didn't they choose more recent successful DJs like:
Mike Rizzo, Dave Aude, Sidney Samson, Almighty, Tiësto, ATB, Buzz Junkies, 7th Heaven, Fred Falke, Manhattan Clique, Jump Smokers, Seamus Haji or Benni Benassi?

Pieces_of_SEVEN 4th February 2011 04:43 PM

^They are mostly western DJs and I wouldn't really consider what most of them do house or trance. I'm glad they aren't working with ayu.

TeamAyu2004 8th March 2011 11:26 PM

Thanks for the info!!

OMG, I would have died if they got Fred Falke to do a remix for the House CD! He's like one of my favorite remixers at the moment.

I also would have loved it if they got Russ Chimes, Fear of Tigers, and Grum to have done remixes for the Ayumix house CD too.

perfectodub 19th March 2011 11:27 PM

i think all the new famous djs have a busy schedule...and maybe this ayumix project was done in a short period.
