Songs that sound like Ayu's?
I know I'm probably really late on finding this, but I just heard S.H.E's Xing Guang and I realized it sounds A LOT like Ayu's About Me...
S.H.E: Xing Guang: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9FFmvjacdH0 Ayu: About You: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XjVUMQ3ioYU Are there any other songs/music videos/album covers that you've found that are similar to ayu's? |
I like how the music video slightly copies GAME a bit too with the intro lol.
|
|
^ I agree with you about the opening PV looks like the game PV, lol... I wish i could think of something, but Im not coming up with anything... sad...
And To Be Free.. the sound sounds like something ayumi would do.. lol, good job finding that one! |

Isn't Ami Suzuki the one who plagiarized a lot of her lyrics?
|
^ Umm she's never plagiarized Ayu lyrics lol
Diamond by alan sounds like M |
Haha the beat and the chords are the same in the chorus for S.H.E.

Anyway. Holy crap does "To Be Free" sound like it should be an Ayu song. It sounds a lot like "MOON" in particular (which, granted, sounds like a lot of other Ayu songs). When BoA's My Name came out, my friend immediately commented that "We" was "very Ayumi." I guess I can hear it in structure, but I don't really get an Ayu vibe from it. Not sure how I feel about that one. /cool story bro |
^ah yes. I agree so much. MOON and To be Free are very "standard typical ayu songs". It's hard to describe them as being an average song, but ayu already has a bunch of them. That ami song was actually composed for ayu i think but it was decided to be given to ami in the end. Ugh. Imagine if ayu actually got To be Free in the end. You know there'd be tons of people saying "OMG it's amazing! I don't know what you're talking about I dont hear any similarity between it and any other ayu song." Like how tons of people argue how none of her summer songs and none of her winter songs sound alike.
|
At first I was like "what you talking about?" but I heard the chorus and it does sound like it.
This has always bothered me soooooo much the beat that starts at 0:18 in Nami Tamaki's Eternal Voice in is in too late also the same beat is in evolution at 3:13 also in UNITE! 0:15 LIKE WHO MAKES THAT BEAT ARRRRRGH AND WHERE IS IT FROM?!!! |
I know there's a song from TOHOSHINKI has a similar chorus to TO BE.
But I don't remember which song is lol. I should search it :yes. |
Angel by some old group has a chorus just like walking proud.

To Be Free sounds exactly like one song of Ayu.. but I can't tell you which one, help me! >< Like mix of MY ALL and sth... >< headblock!
and S.H.E. reference.. yeah it does a little, but the clip have more "Ayu" then a song.. the chains, the GAME intro.. |
try listening to Mariah Carey - Without You and Ayu's curtain calll.. the piano intro is just...:thud
|
The chorus of zombie by the pretty reckless sounds identical to the start of is this LOVE I'll post a link when I'm on my computer right now I'm on I pod :p
|
I think the melody of Xing Guang is so similar to About You.. But you're right, there's the GAME intro and chains like from her About You performance!
& artcika... Same piano intro..... Wow :thud Strange! |
lol, To be Free was released in 2007 for Suzuki's album CONNETTA. You can't say Ami Suzuki plagiarized MOON or anything because To be Free was released three years before Ayu. :D And if I remember correctly, that song was composed by HAL. So if you want to blame it on someone, blame it on HAL because he was the one who composed that song (also Alright from CONNETTA is composed by HAL and it sounds more like an Ayu song than To be Free to me).

I have always thought, that Nana Mizuki's Young Alive! sounds a song Ayu would sing : D I have thought it as something like Independent or + ~II~. I also think Nana sings a little like Ayu in this song, in a way she usually sings her cutesy-happy-yay~ songs XD Also there's that "Are you ready~" which would work for Ayu because of her name : P
Well, here's the song: |

I just remembered this one. A local song during 2000 or 2003 I think.

I'm reviving this thread because I was cleaning out my iTunes library and was suddenly reminded of this song. Listen to that chorus. (starts around 1:15)
I don't have my physical album with me and I haven't listened to any of the songs in awhile. At least some of the other songs on the minialbum are covers. Does anyone know if this was a cover/if that cover somehow relates to "SEASONS?" |
^
Oh thats Jia Jia, she was actually kinda produced by Gackt if I remember right. I just checked back, the composition and lyrics ARE actually by Gackt http://j-lyric.net/artist/a04cac4/l009a86.html |

No no, I relistened to both songs again and it REALLY sounds alike! I wonder if Gackt was trolling Ayu there lol |
^ lol that would be hilarious. I've always hoped that Gackt and Ayu actually had the friendship we saw on TV during the early-/mid-2000s.
|
ultra soul by B'z sounds kind of like Boys and Girls.. or so I've always thought every time I listen to it! :laugh
|
^ Really... I don't hear it? I mean they have some of the same elements I guess... But I don't immediately think Boys & Girls.
|
shiiiet, so many rip offs. especially that S.H.E. song. it's like a chinese slow version of About You, no way to deny it, LMBO. dayum.
|
Tohoshinki's Lovin' You sounds like End Roll. That's probably the song you're thinking of.

Cao Thai Son who covered "Marionette" by renaming it "Mua Thu Vang Em" (An Autumn Without You). For those who do not know/remember what I am talking about, here's a link to an AHS-conversation: "Marionette" is covered by a Vietnamese male singer!
And here's where you can listen to the song: link originally posted by zoomzoom Kazuhiro Hara is the composer for "Marionette" but the one credited was Nhu Hong (and it is not Kazuhiro Hara in Vietnamese, according to A-TeensFan from the thread linked). Everything else you can find from the thread linked. Just wanted to mention this... |

There's a sifow song that reminds me of an Ayu song although I can never remember which it sounds like.
