oh wow, I just realized (thanks to the first post) that pop diva is her 49th single. Do you think she's gonna do something special for her 50th single? Ayu just released her 50th single and she's been in the business 2 years longer. That means kumi releases more singles than ayu. haha I hope we get something cool for the 50th from kumi.

CDJ shipped my order yesterday! Since I chose the cheapest shipping method, it will probably take a few weeks (probably 2 weeks) to get here. I'm super excited though, especially to see the concert too which I heard was great! I don't know many of her songs pre Gossip Candy so I'm hoping this concert will peak my interest into looking more into her previous work.

Speaking of PVs, I don't think she picked the best songs to make PVs for on this album. I would have much rather had a PV for AT THE WEEKEND, I Don't Love You?! or Okay. I mean, I guess that I can understand Passing By getting one since it features Steve Urkle-looking dude, but Bambi? Its a cute song and I like it, but it doesn't need a PV, even if it was pretty cute.

I don't like ayu so much, but I have to admit "L" was a pretty consistent single. Nice pv's and nice songs. I found it so good to be honest. Sweet season is happiness in true way, Virgin Road is epic at every way (music video, lyrics, voice, instrumentation... )and Last Angel is quite good also, with a nice beat. If kuu's 50th single is as good as "L" I'll be so satisfied!! But I have to admit that Dejavu dissapointed me, even there are songs that I really love (prologue, at the weekend, lollipop, okay, hey baby...) there are so much junk in there (choi tashi life, melting, I don't love you) and other random songs (interlude, pop diva, passing by, bambi, aitakute...) On universe there was a lot of awesome songs (step into my world, universe, cwgb, physical thing, no way, superstar, you're so beautiful, ecstasy...) In my opinion Universe was a so much better album. Also, the pv's she's doing recently are always abusing of computer graphics, and that looks so cheap (with a few exceptions like Superstar). Let's wait now for the 50th single and HOPE it will have a better taste than Dejavu. On the other hand, I just saw the Billboard live, and it's awesome! Probably her best live vocals since I can remember :D so glad I order it! |

I gotta say that I prefer Kuu's 10th anniversary because she really knew how to celebrate it. Ayu only did a massive tour, released two singles and that's it. :/ It felt like a normal Ayu year like 2007 and 2006 to me as there was no special concerts like Kuu had. I understand that its stupid to compare these artists but I'll be honest and say that it was Ayu's 10th anniversary year that made me lose my liking. I was hoping something really epic, and was disappointed when there was like nothing. :< That's all I have to say, and I'll say nothing else about this fact. <3

I really was almost killing myself for not getting tsutaya version, but after seeing this I'm not so excited for it any longer. I'd buy if it was easy for people outside japan, but as it's almost impossible without a third person, I'm happy with my HMV version.

Got my album and just finished listening to it. To me, the album seemed "fast". Like one minute the song would be playing and the next minute it was over.
Won't say much about the single tracks, I enjoyed the singles she put out for this album, with the exception of Suki de. I listened to Suki de again and it's not as boring as I originally thought, but I think Anata Dake ga is just better. As for the album tracks, I liked Okay, AT THE WEEKEND, Hey Baby!, and I Don't Love You. The only tracks that got me hooked right off the bat. Passing By looks like a grower. There are a lot of comments that say the male vocal is irritating, it's awful, etc. I don't mind the male vocal, but there is just something about it... Choitashi Life and Bambi could sorta grow on me, but I'm not absolutely sure. I could see Bambi growing on me more than Choitashi because Bambi's less boring. At least Choitashi's better than Melting. Aitakute and Melting are the songs I don't care for. Aitakute is pretty much Stay part 2 and I always found Stay to be boring. It also reminded me of the album ballad tracks from TRICK and how I didn't like those either. Melting is the worst song on Dejavu, just a blah song altogether. |

Since the japanese press is so expensive, I'd love a CD only HK ver. 'cause it's the press that looks more alike the japanese one. Taiwan comes with that white and blue obi and that makes me go so mad, I hate that kind of thing.
So I think I'll just have to get the CD only JP ver. in the future, sadly. |
After fully listening to Dejavu again...I don't think I like it as much lol. I thought Passing By was beautiful, but then I listened to it again and it was just "okay". Ehh I think I like UNIVERSE better...

After listening to Dejavu for a while now, I find the album tracks far outshine the single tracks (except for Suki de)... That's a first for a Kumi album for me.

the ninki was around 210.000 or something like that... so i expect it will sell around 180.000-190.000! still hope for 200.000, BUT let's see... still lovin' this album! don't know... it's not her best work, BUT i still jammin' to this! after some days i can say i like almost all songs from Dejavu! Melting was kinda annoying, BUT after the great instrumentation and the sweet lyrics i don't skip it anymore! i can't wait for Dejavu Tour story/outfits/movie interludes!! hope i can take some pics during the concert, BUT it's hard with all the staff there... avex trax is watching you! LoL who's the boss? i'm the boss!! LoL :heart |
^ It'll definitely sell more than 200k. I would be genuinely surprised if it doesn't. It's a solid album.

Burnt it on CD today for my car since I have had Love songs playing in my car since it came out. Listened to AT THE WEEK END the most and then the few other songs I like from the album but on my way back home I put in Love songs. I just felt so tired while listening to Dejavu. Love songs has yet to make me feel that way and look how long it's been since it was released!

I want to burn Dejavu onto a CD for my car too, except I know how I am... And if I burn it to a CD, I will never buy it. So I'm actually hoping YA puts up order links soon along with ayu-mi-x 7 OS press so I can order them both for ~cheap~!
