An article on local newspaper Lian He Wan Bao 14/3/11
http://img862.imageshack.us/img862/5121/p1000440.th.jpg
Here's an article from my local (Singapore) newspaper. I've read about it an was abnit unhappy about some of the things mentioned in it. The newspaper quoted (HK news) so if anyone from Hongkong can verified anything, soure or whatever would be nice. Rough translation of the article : Netizen curse ayumi as "Hypocritical", ayu sent a total message of 143 notes on message board! After the earthquake, local (japan) artist kept twitting non-stop. However, ayu was accused of trying to do promotion(attract attention)! Jpop queen ayumi sent a total of 143 notes on twitter during the last 14 hour since yesterday, an average of 1 msg per 6 mins, msg was mostly words of encouragement, asking ppl not to panic, save electricity, asking fans to donate to red cross society to help the victims and only went offline till 5am. To ayu's 1 day madness messages, netizen hold a suspicion and think she's "Hypocritical". As her new compilation album, ayu-mi-x 7 is being schedule to release later this month 30th, netizen blame her for trying to use the earthquake as a promotion! They even accused her of only asking ppl to donate money while she herself didnt donate a single cent. With assets of more than 10million HKD and not donating, accuse her of being stingy. Ayu refute :" Being a Japan singer (I) will definately do something for my country, even if donation is being made, there's no need to go around and annouce it." Spokesman from recording company explain that it's only a coincidence of the album release date. --- end :rolleyes |
Yeah, this has been spreading around Japanese BBS's and stuff too.
To even think that Ayu, a proud Japanese citizen, would not donate to this tragedy affecting her country is absurd. Like, it doesn't even make sense. She doesn't have to go around telling everyone how much she donates. |
this shows that no matter what anyone does can nv satisfy everyone.
|

I will never believe that Ayu didn't donate money |
Yeah of course, ayu caused the earthquake / Tsunami to get good sales with the ayu-mi-x 7s (Thinking like the people who wrote/allowed this article)
But no, I will think like myself and say that they know nothing, and even if she did the opposite thing and kept in silence, they would still accuse her of not encouraging her fans to do something about it (donate, etc). They are the only hypocrites and should feel lucky that the Tsunami didn't get to their city. |
Ayu said on TA that she donated.
Also, this article is stupid. :grumpy |
And they couldn't wait a few more weeks, months to do such accusations? The Earthquake only happened 3 days ago. They are heartless bastards and deserve the worst.
I feel sorry for the people who believe in this article. And lol they also picked a photo of her full of jewelry, like she was some kind of narcissist medieval queen and she was like that every single day. |
Ridiculous. They just don't know Ayu. :headache
|

|
She has said on TA that she has donated 3 times so far, and plans to continue donating daily.
There are also official records stating that she has made a donation of 1mil yen. |
Human stupidity...
|
Official records show donations made? Whoaa. Well, that's more than enough proof to rebuff this article. Such a stupid one at that, obviously they're the ones seeking attentions by creating rumours :/
|
Completely absurd!
The netizen/author must be too free to count the number of tweets ayu sent out. It's not as though she suddenly pop-ed out of nowhere (i.e. create a twitter a/c) and started twitting madly about the earthquake. Lame :/ |
Everyone can write **** today without doing research. The album was planned and announced months before this...Are people really that stupid?
|
geeez netizens!!
even in a time like this, they could just accuse such ridiculous thing about ayu! moreover it's from HK newspaper! wewww!!!! |
This article is ridiculous. I feel sorry for the person who wrote this and for those who believe in this kind of info.
|
Not going to talk crap about this article, is really immature get over yourselves
We know ayu donated so what does it matter what these stupid articles say |
Quote:
But then again, it's a silly gossip column paper. |
^because of some stupid articles wow....
I stay away from patriotism but just wow If she says she donated she donated |
How dumb.
You know, she's not the only one on twitter. When stuff was going down, my timeline exploded for several hours with tweets of emergency information from many of my artists, not just her. I actually think there are others who did more than she did, but meh, what does it even matter. Some people are just sad. |
Sad, just sad.......................
-ignore- |
I find it ridiculous to have this kind of reporter to use this as news, especially at such difficult times.
|
I guess it is easier and more comfortable to sit and write this crap than actually HELP.
|
can't believe people/media are so ridiculous. if ayu didn't do anything/express anything regarding this quake, they will say she is indifferent; while she now tried to help and they said she was hypocritical.
|
Wow this is so stupid these guys were just looking fir an easy story and made something up on ayu ugh it makes me mad
|
|
excuse me? through all this did she even mention her ayumix albums many times, or at all? :rolleyes
I know people talk a lot of **** about ayu, her music, image, etc, but it just doesn't sit well with me when they try to accuse her of being a bad person, because that is obviously so far from the truth. |
even the japanese feel that way?!
|
That's disgusting!

She mentioned this site in latest TA entry |
people is crazy sometime...what they are thinking when write this?
|
Ridiculous. Stupid.
Ayu is NOT stingy. |
i have a bad feeling that it will go worse.... now that she disclose the amount she donate....
|
How do they know Ayu didn't donate? It's not like there's public record kept about who donated how much! ******* tabloids
|
I'm pretty sure this is the stupidest gossip article ever written about Ayu.
|
Oh god, how much I hate these kind of things.
This is like her deafness during GUILTY and her marriage during Love songs :/ everything's just made for promotion. Yeah, of course :rolleyes. |
It was actually a person on twitter who was an anti-fan (and her twitter is an "Anti-Ayu" twitter) who sent that nasty question to her asking why overseas artists donated so much and artists in Japan haven't.
I think it might've started from there when ayu responded by saying she DID donate but she doesn't have to go announce it to everyone, and she loves and wants to protect her country. ayu_19980408 ayumi hamasaki And her insane retweeting the last 4 days was REALLY helpful, since they were all important tweets regarding how to get food/stay safe/and news information. Some people are just so stupid it's ridiculous. |
no comment...

Haters gonna hate.
And like someone said, I'm worried people will criticize the amount as well now that she disclosed it. Some people will think it's not enough but really, whatever you can give IS enough. |
wtf...Ayu said in a tweet that she's donated at least 3 times!! And using the earthquake as promo for her remix album is stupid...she gave her staff time off fyi....:no
OMG the things people will come up with to stir up trouble....this is not the time. |
I bet that anti-fan didn't donate.
the remix albums aren't even a major release anyways...like ayu will use a natural disaster to promote them. :rolleyes |
*DOUBLE MIDDLE FINGERS TO HATERRSSS* (and if i could do it with my toes, i would!)
that ticks me off. she's no attention seeker, heck no. she's just a very compassionate person who isn't like "OMG GUYS LOOKIE AT ME I GIVE SO MUCH MOH-NEH TO MY PEOPLE BECAUSE I VELY VELY KIND" they can kiss her a$$. on second thought, heck no her a$$ is too magnificent to lay their lips on. |
Wow, no good deed goes unpunished. This article is just ridiculous.

LOOOL Okay there. How cynical do you have to be to write this ****? Ayu's done A LOT here, and like someone earlier in the thread said, as much as you want to hate on her music/image/etc., it's really stupid to go around trying to make her look like a bad person. :no
|
wow... -_- people focus on the wrong thing...how absurd...
|
|
WTF. How the hell do they know she's not donating anything? I hardly think someone posting words of encouragement at a time like this should be criticized. Especially because it only further draws the attention away from where it really needs to be right now. :-/
|
Damn, If I ever meet the person who wrote this article. %$#^$%#.
Ayu would never use a natural disaster as a way to promote her upcoming releases. Whoever even thought of this is just sick. Japans in turmoil right now and all they can think about is trying to make Ayu look bad. Some people are just :no |
Such a dumb article haha I mean Ayu frequently has had singles or even albums in March-April before; you can just see the timeline of the way she releases. It just so happens that this happened around that time. If this had happened around CDL, or AT, people would've claimed it was promotion for that; I mean, Ayu is ALWAYS doing something really, so they were always going to find something to claim it was for.
Honestly, if they want to hate her image, her music, her popularity; that's fine, but at the point where there is a crisis in her home country (or any country for that matter) and she does a good thing, don't try to make her look bad out of mere hate. Some people really are awful; they don't even know how to put pettiness aside in a crisis like this. |
This is a n00b article, let's ignore it~ :D

I cant believe these people said that. How can they say that Ayumi is self promoting by telling people were to go that is safe and giving updates on the spot for an entire day!
People! I am assumed of all this. EDIT: 5,000,000 million yen, not bad ayumi. (currently that is just under 61,000 USD) |
How mean-spirited!
|
Now is not the time to write something like this about any celebrity. I don't blame her for at first not saying how much she donated since even then people will complain on why didn't she donate more, blahblahblah. She is doing what she can so the people who are doing nothing don't need to say anything.
|
Hong Kong's Headlines Daily has a similar article but posted a screenshot of ayu's reply to the tweet that clarified the donation issue. I think that Lian He Wanbao is not particular fond of ayu hence they choose to run such an article. Meanwhile, other publications from the same media group choose to run a more justified report.
This is rubbish!!!
|
who on earth is this Lian He Wanbao??
|
What a stupid report!!!!!They just enjoying saying those stuff to AYU!!
|
makes me ill
|
i don't understand all this criticism in the air
|
This is what reporters do when they are short of ideas to write for recent headline; filling quotas etc.

and that is why i never/ stopped buying their newspapers... seriously most of the local newspapers... i don't know why they hated ayu so much (or maybe just a little? who knows? but judging from all those absurb articles...)... and most of us the singaporean fans (back then) guessed that someone from the media might had offened ayu and that is why she never consider coming back to singapore after the bad expereince. sadz..
maybe we the singapore fans should write in loads of complaint letters to the media for misleading the public about ayu. seriously, i am quite pissed off with them too (especially seeing all the poor reviews of her CDs, and more towards negative articles about her) :grumpy |

^up till now, i still have ppl asking me if ayu got STD -_-
lian he wan bao always post negative stuffs about ayu one lor.. haters = famous~ |

This article is a waste of trees and ink. :irked

There's another report on SG newspaper this morning. Maybe someone wants to post about it?
Media is always like that. Even if an artist just purely wants to make an donation, they will take it as a way to advertise... do promotion.... Only the artist themselves knows what is the truth. We fans just have to believe what we believe. |
^ yea, anyone willing to post it ...
i don't read their newspapers... :grumpy |

Ok this means war now! 17th March news report. This time round they seem to quote from taiwan news media. Rough translation : Ayumi Hamasaki had assets of NT$11.8 billion, but she didn't donate at the immediately. Only announced on they day before, that a charity t-shirt will be made on sale and all the porceeds will be donated to the victims. Part of the netizens bombarded : "Instead of using the money to make t-shirts, might as well donate the amount directly." For people who would like to make comments to this stupid newspaper, feel free to contact them through their blog , facebook , email : wanbaonews@gmail.com or call them @ 1800-741-6388 if you're from singapore. I've just posted on their facebook and commented on their blog! |
Whoa... $4 US billion in assets?! That's A LOT! How in the world she can have a lot of money like that!?
|
I've posted on the newspaper facebook page too. We should speak up for the untrue reports and hopefully they do some self-reflection about it.

Now who is the one making use of the Earthquake AND Ayu to boost their newspaper sales?
Sometimes, being a Singaporean, it's quite sad to see fellow Singaporeans only caring for themselves. |
the article is so plain stupid.
That's it |
Stupid article, there's no need to announce to the world about how much money you're gonna donate is there?
Ayu non-stop tweeting on twitter means she's trying to attract attention? Then what about the ppl who tell the whole world exactly how much they're donating? Aren't they just trying to attract attention from the world too? Why couldn't they have donated secretly without telling anyone? It's the heart that counts, not the amount :/ Plus, Ayu probably donated secretly, kept it quiet, like any non-attention seeker would do. |
Ooh tat is no good.. but obviously she is not doing tat for attention.. not jus her who is tweeting. Ayu def is concerned abt the earthquake happenings, not like wat they said!
|
The person who wrote this news's so pathetic and lame!
|
I think that this will become even worse. Especially since Ayu disclosed the number of her deposit to japan (30.000.000yen).
I feel sad for her, especially because she cares for the fans a lot. And I mean 143 messages in 1 day really shows that. And wth like ayu saw this earthquake and tsunami coming when she decided to pick March 30th as release date for her new album. It's really annoying. I hope the author gets fired .. |
From a Singaporean's point of view... I think Singapore has the least rights to bash artists on donating right now. >_>
I remember seeing an article saying that "Japan's affected, but Singaporeans are only worried about not being able to travel." It's so selfish and if you think of it, it's really hypocritical. Besides, I don't get why the media is going crazy over celebs not donating/announcing their donations. I mean, it's none of their business (well it's their job BUT STILL.)!! Besides, they're probably just sitting behind their computers typing trash about celebs whereas they probably don't donate much or don't donate any at all! It's so ridiculous. Why so self-righteous when the media is so selfish in the first place? |
=_= for promotion? who want buy album with that disaster condition?
