Yesterday was Thursday...today is Friday...tomorrow is Saturday...

.....inspiring lyrics huh?

NintendoHTF1242 16th March 2011 08:34 AM

She reminds me of Taylor Swift. The lyrics they sing get a little too detailed. Only difference is Taylor Swift can sing and has interesting music.

This Rebecca Black girl...I don't know what to think of her. Her voice is kind of annoying though lol. And the lyrics are atrocious (and that's saying a lot coming from me who loves Ke$ha)

Taru86 16th March 2011 09:18 AM

:puke

WTF was that? That was terrible. This girl better not be serious.

Miduhyo 16th March 2011 09:42 AM

....
here's my interesting opinion. I'm going to go into very logic detail and try my best to set up a supportive system as to WHY I feel this way about this song. Here are my exact thoughts.

Spoiler:

WHAT THE HELL!?!??!!?!?!?!?

Polyrhythm 16th March 2011 10:26 AM

I'm just going to write a pop song every time I do something from now on.....

can't wait for this friday!! i'll be kicking in the back seat xD

Cherry Dynamite 16th March 2011 03:53 PM

Is she singing her journal lol? I don't like Kesha but at least she has an interesting voice but that girl just simply don't have an ounce of singing talent (hopefully she has other talents but I doubt it).

and the song reminds me of one song from How I Met Your Mother.

koumori 16th March 2011 04:00 PM

She apparently has rich parents. Which would explain a lot.

Nu-NRG 16th March 2011 04:28 PM

Take a seat already!! XD
that's my thought when she sang which seat should I take lol
Honestly IDGI how this song/girl became the "it" girl

waterballoon 16th March 2011 04:40 PM

Yesterday was Thursday, today is Friday, tomorrow is Saturday and Sunday comes afterwards...

Thanks Rebecca, didn't know know that till u sang it. And ur friend in pink who did the FUNNIEST awkward dance next to u in the car in which u took a weekend to decide the front seat or back seat to sit on was hilarious.

Amrai-chan 16th March 2011 04:50 PM

Um no. I couldn't finish it.

I was reading about this the other day. The production company responsible for this finds teens, writes them a song and puts it on the internet. Looks like they are trying to find the next hit.

Look at the channel the video is on. Even more to go shake your head at.

JackieRos 16th March 2011 04:51 PM

seriously this is here too-.-
ah come on

I haven't listen to it and I never will
stupid memes >.>

emi♡ 17th March 2011 02:58 AM

This song is such a rip off of everything that's "popular".

I don't get the big deal about the lyrics...it just seems like a joke song, or just, a bland preteen song.

The girl is not cute though, so...no.

Some of them are even worse than Rebecca Black. I feel so bad for them all. Used. :no

EDIT: This article explains better. http://flavorwire.com/161150/ark-mus...-rebecca-black

Yum!Fruit_Salad! 18th March 2011 12:05 AM

At least this chickie doesn't sound like she's storing phlegm inside her nose.

qwerty 18th March 2011 11:58 PM

When I first listened to the song, I was moved to tears. :cry I'm sure so many people can relate to the tough decision of what seat to take in a friend's car.

Kanzaki 19th March 2011 12:15 AM

ZOMG I WISH I WAS AS GOOD A LYRICS WRITER AS SHE IS

pommy48 19th March 2011 12:22 AM

So like...is this for real or a joke? :laugh

Polyrhythm 19th March 2011 01:12 AM

It's #39 on iTunes....

Annoying voice + Autotune + Uninspiring lyrics = Great success.

:roflmao I'm quoting this on fb. xD

koumori 19th March 2011 03:35 AM

I watched a youtube video on her "talking back to the haters" on an american TV show. They asked her to sing the national anthem and, got to give it to her, she sounds a lot better than she does in Friday.

Weird little company that Ark Music is, indeed.

Yum!Fruit_Salad! 19th March 2011 03:36 AM

^ Saw that as well. There are still certain times where she sounds nasally but an improvement over this.

To Rebeca it's real, but pretty much everyone else is laughing.

lol u have to be either very2 good or very2 bad to be famous

fuawas 19th March 2011 02:19 PM

She definetely helped me with the days of the week... but now I have a worst dilema...
which seat do I have to take in a car where there's only one available?!?! :weep

TofuBunny 22nd March 2011 07:37 PM

^ Oooh this song is terrible too but the girl is really pretty .. And her acting was actually decent (IMO), I actually felt sorry for her. She's better off in a Disney sit-com or something.

:roflmao !! I just came here to post this XD I love this girl, she's so darn hyper :tired

And yes Friday is a bad with laughable lyrics but people before you start hating on her remember she's thirteen
.. Also like Koumori mentioned, she actually did well when they asked her to sing the national anthem, maybe the producers asked her to sing in that annoying tone. Kinda like SNSD's Sunny sings in a cutesie annoying voice in Oh! but is actually a great singer when she sings seriously.

The person who told her to go cut herself or whatever, wtf is wrong with you :no ? I'm glad she's handling it well.

And this "Ark Music Factory" seems to be some kind of scam where rich parents pay tons of money hoping that their kid would be the next big thing .. even if they can't sing at all.

NintendoHTF1242 22nd March 2011 10:58 PM

^ I thought that was sad too :/ It's like people with Miley Cyrus or Justin Bieber. Wishing death on people is never a good thing, ever. I think that Rebecca Black would have a shot at being big if she wasn't nasally and wasn't singing such boring lyrics (but the song is stuck in my head UGH!). But it's good to know she's handling the death threats/bad comments in a calm fashion.

pepper 22nd March 2011 11:10 PM

BEST version! Love these guys, and they are SO happy singin' it. Rebeca's friends are so... miserable while singing "Yeah..."

honestly, I'm getting tired of all this hum-drum. she needs to go away.

Kanzaki 23rd March 2011 04:01 PM

Yup. She's getting way too much attention over being crap imo.

xLuna&1LOVE 24th March 2011 01:52 AM

Okay, the song is awful (and still, wtf #39 itunes? Who the hell, besides primary-school kids who want 'cool' songs on their phones, is downlading it) there's at least some things I like about this person, Rebecca Black.

That's she is taking the critism and doesn't let herself down after such horrible reactions of people all over the world. It must be freakin hard for someone to be rememberd like this: the teen with the awful, monotone-voiced, song. Anyway, she is handling it very well for a teenager. I respect her in that. The song was just an epic fail, but everybody will overcome that.

Maybe she will surprise us with a collaboration with Justin Bieber. Same style.

AyuRox 29th March 2011 04:26 AM

ugh... The lyrics are so inane and her voice annoys the heck outta me... But here, maybe i can make it better for some of you...

Lmao that was funny.

I would totally support that girl in the gif, if she was singer and the record company made her wear that mustache all day everyday and she had to play that accordion while wearing the mustache.

DA1SUK1DAY01691 30th March 2011 09:33 AM

According to other articles, Simon Cowell finds the song "genius" and Lady Gaga also came to her defense as well.

I like the song because it is extremely catchy—there aren't many recent songs that have that "instant recognition power," you know: sing a couple words and it's in everyone's heads. It could have been Simon who said it, but what makes her so popular is people have an opinion of her; bad or good, irritated or not irritated, people have talked about her with an opinion, and that's what makes someone spread like wildfire (not to mention the way we can go viral on the internet now). Because there's an opinion and because there's so many people talking about her, people who don't know her will be more inclined to find out who she is.

And yes, I remember watching that Good Morning America video after another article mentioned it, and she sounds pretty good despite the song's vocals. A little nasal (but much less nasal than me—hahaha!), but she definitely has a voice to work with.

Maybe these Justin Bieber comparisons won't be too far off if she can get another "hit"...

ownsarai 30th March 2011 10:23 AM

Yea, real genius to have someone else write lyrics for you, sing them terribly and then auto tune it so it sounds even worse.
This song is a joke and people obviously are buying into it, so she will end up popular because of it. You don't even have to have any real talent to be famous these days.

asmAyumi1992 30th March 2011 10:27 AM

I don't hate her at least. But her friends are more annoying than herself :laugh

Rebecca Black's Not To Blame: Meet The Man Who Wrote “Friday”
Posted Wed Mar 30, 2011 3:54pm PDT by Tiffany Lee in Stop The Presses!

Rebecca Black's omnipresent "Friday" has been dubbed "The Worst Song Ever" by many and is officially the most "disliked" video on YouTube. (With 1.2 million "dislikes," it beats Justin Bieber's "Baby" by almost 80,000.) But all this isn't stopping the man behind the song from speaking out. You see, little 13-year-old Rebecca actually had very little to do with the notorious song or video.

Patrice Wilson, the founder of Ark Music Factory and seemingly random rapper in Rebecca's video, is taking responsibility for this dubious phenomenon in a recent interview with the Los Angeles Times. While previously depicted as being "a kind of Suge Knight of the preteen schoolyard" and accused of using young girls' dreams for his own financial advantage, in the L.A. Times article he's described as a "sad-eyed babyface" and "well-mannered, well-traveled, and well-educated."

Wait... you mean an adult wrote the lyrics for this song? And he's well-mannered, well-traveled, and well-educated? Yes my friends, a man that charges delusional children 2-4 k to write an awful song and shoot an equally bad video is well-meaning. And his deep and thoughtful lyrics are a great indication of this education and culture.

SIGN ME UP!

The fact that either of these people have an influential position in music business is a damn shame. They have no kind of taste in music if they think this song is good.

Not to call you out or be mean or anything but didn't you used to really like Kesha?

When I first heard that song I was like "What is this trash?" Seems today to be famous all you need to do is either be 11 years old or act like a crack*****, put a song on youtube, and wait for the millions to start coming in.

xLitax 1st April 2011 12:38 AM

I love how so many people are changing their tune about the song itself, just because they feel sorry for her.

And like I would give a rat's ass what Simon Cowell thinks. If he truly likes the song, it is sad that he was a judge on a show for singing.

And the national anthem was average at best. Whatever though. She's thirteen. Her voice hasn't even matured so maybe she will get better.

Since when has famous meant being good in whatever the occupation is? Famous means being well known or popular, it's not indicative of any talent.
