It is a Blu-ray, so it'll be tracked on a separate chart. [Dunno if we get Blu-ray info as nonsubscribers to Oricon Style]

They announce it in the press release at the end of the week. It does not count in the DVD sales.
I've never seen a Blu-ray chart for Oricon but I know that they do track it. Ayu is considered to be one of Japan finest performers... while Hikki is pretty much a very boring one... And this is coming from someone who actually likes Hikki more than Ayu...

Though Utada does seem to have been slipping. People thought her last best was gonna be magnificently high selling but... that wasn't the case at all. I wonder how much AT10 will sell since the show was SO good and people raved about it on Amazon and such. 5/5, baby! |

The experience of being like 200 feet from Ayu when she's in performance goddess mode is totally worth it though, I suppose. |
I know! It would be worth going into massive amounts of debt to see Ayu live and I had the chance but things just didn't work out D:

Hikki's Greatest Hits was a massive flop so I'm not surprised her DVD is a flop too. Seems like she retired at just the right time.

^ Lol, not for good. I like Hikki because her music is so unique - only she can make that style of music and make it well. Just like Ayu - she just has this certain persona and as far as uniqueness (it used to be her ballads were better than everyone's and not boring), her rock songs are the best out there.

Hikki's not a bad performer, IMO. She's not in Ayu's level, that's for sure. I'm just happy to see that Ayu and Hikki are in the top 3. The true queens of J-Pop haven't lost their shine. And to people who are saying Hikki is fading. Total crap. Singles Collection Vol. 2 sold more than Love songs, and it only had 4 new songs. And Hikki's known more for really high digital sales. This is coming from a hardcore Hikki fan (more than Ayu). Sorry for the rant, but some people are getting way too ahead of themselves. |

It seems that we're seeing some SERIOUS competition from a couple of movies, most notably Harry Potter, but they're still doing well in the music scene.

Well music dvds positions are determined by the music dvd charts while the other dvds (like movies) positions are determined by the movie dvds chart.
The general chart is probably just to show positions in comparisons (luckily). ^^ |

AKB48 is not a threat since their DVD is not a music DVD. |
But for sure, we're still 1-2 in the music charts (Utada's now #3), and it's still Harry Potter leading overall (general), but now I'm seeing AKB48 2nd in general rankings?
