I wonder though, if she just had difficulty expressing her emotions about the earthquake cause of the language...

she actually is really good at english these days lolol I mean she still has her accent but from the way she speaks and structures her sentences you can tell she has a good mastery of it :)

somehow i can see it from the expression like she's searching for the correct word,but it's normal i guess for a non native speaker sometimes we forgot the words that we rarely use it

haha its funny to see how the report emphasise on how ayu lost words in trying to explain how she felt after the disaster. it's either that she was totally speechless or she cant find a good English word to describe it at the point. But i am proud of her.

That was so good!!!! I've always loved her accent and use of English and now I'm just that much more in love with it. I hope she'll do another interview like with CNN where she'll use some English again!!!!

That's what I was thinking, too. her english is really great--she sounds more confident now than she ever has--but I imagine something like that would be difficult to express in her first language, let alone her second.

It does seem that way. And yeah her accent is a bit better, still it's hard to say how much has she actually improved with only a couple of lines.

Well in the comments you can see that Chinese fans are bashing the reporter for making fun of Ayu's English - the reporter apparently (because my mandarin listening is poor) said that Ayu's English was broken, even though obviously bringing up a topic like that would be difficult for anyone to talk about!

Well, she isn't speaking much, so you really can't judge properly. XD
But it's pretty obvious the chinese media took that, cause Ayu didn't know how to expres in English...

Yeah, esp right after she said that she couldn't explain it, the reporter commented "why is that the only thing we hear from her?" -___-

what do they expect to hear man. if she throws in big bombastic words i suspect they would probably question her honesty and criticize her for being fake. And sometimes emotions overwhelm till the point you can't really express it in words, no? Her english is pretty rad!

But people shouldnt be so critical, even if she is in the spotlight. Though you can tell she has it down, judging by the way her sentences are spoken and the time (almost none) it took her to respond, save for the question where she was speechless. Her voice surprised me too! I always thought shed sound deeper, but her voice is kinda high pitched here lol

Anyway, I like her English. I love how she reacts immediately when she got asked those questions. I love her; "I don't know" way of saying :D.
