@truehappiness: About your last comment in the previous thread--yeah, you're right! The ticket I had says HOTEL Love songs on it. Most of the ones I've seen say that; only a couple read as POWER of MUSIC. Probably because of the last-minute change, yeah?

Seriously, i think FINAL Chapter will be exactly the same as her normal concerts of PoM. It doesnt imply there will be anything new or different. it simply means the last few concerts.
But for LIMITED EDITION, it can imply that a different concert from her usual ones since its limited. So i am going to expect insertion of some new songs. just like 7 Days Special. -_- the main title is still POWER of MUSIC. So forget about a HOTEL Love song stage for only 2 days of concert. |

Ayu has said that she wants HOTEL Love songs to happen, but for now POWER of MUSIC will run its course completely until the very end of the tour. I think since this FIVE was decided, we might just get a FIVE+Love songs tour for 2012. |
She could also just do one massive POM+Love songs+FIVE show, since it's only two days I think she could perform a huge setlist like PCDL.

Ayu already said she wants to go with PoM until the very end of the tour and that she doesn't want to promote Love Songs with this tour. So she won't change it in HLS. Anyway, can't wait to see what she's planning *__* If I think I wanted to go to Japan this October but can't... ç____ç |
Limited Edition probably means she puts all songs together she sung in the tour - that's a really good decision then, love it!
(and easier for a DVD release XD ) But it's a bit sad for everybody going to the dates before and not seeing everything. |

So this LIMITED EDITION is basically what 7 Days was to Rock'n'Roll Circus? Adding the new singles into the current tour most likely. She said "the best thing ever!!" about 7 Days and all it included was song changes.
I hope this doesn't become a habit of hers. |

^^ well I went today and she changed costumes a few times, same color and same overall style but actually really different outfits for each parts. Very beautiful IMO.

It started with acoustic and then the original version (but i only love the intro & chorus :laugh) M is purely :heart even B&D sounds better than the original version the setlist (if i'm not wrong) 1. forgiveness :heart 2. progress 3. Back from the concert, and now I truly understand the POWER of MUSIC. The concert was just pure epic-ness!!!!!! XD
I can't remember the exact setlist because I wasn't taking note, but here are some things. 1. The trilogy is back in full, she performed vogue-Far away-SEASONS. 2. This concert may have a short setlist, but it's a normal-length show, about 2.5 hours in total. There were lots of audience interactions and stuffs which took up time. 3. There were 6 costumes in total, I think. They're all the same beige one, but just in different designs. There was a long dress version, followed by a short dress version, followed by another long see-through dress version, then another short dress, then lastly a toga/pants version. All these were paired with glittery knee-length boots. Oh, and she did the encore songs in a white tour shirt, white shorts and white knee-length boots. 4. Yes, she sang progress. It started out really slowly, with just bare minimal instrumentation and just her voice, for the first verse and chorus. After that, it switched to the pop version that is in the Tales of CM. The instrumental bridge is really cool, but it sounds super similar to the bridge of another ayu song, but I can't put my finger on it exactly. The ending sounds like the Tales of CM again. It was a typical ayu song style, but it was awesome! :) 5. What most people have been wondering about: her vocals. They were amazing, it's really obvious that she has undergone training. Her voice is really poweful, and though there were times when she goes off-tune, they were extremely rare. Of note: after hours of jumping around, singing, and stuff, she still managed to perform the last song Thank U amazingly well. Now that in itself really impressed me! 6. Song arrangements. Almost every single song in the setlist has been remixed, so none were in their original forms. It kinda felt like I was listening to a whole new remix album. ;) And I gotta say, whoever rearranged all these songs is a genius!! Most of the arrangements were great! A Song for XX was a more pop-ish version of take2 from A BALLADS. M was rock style, an awesome rearrangement. Love song was an unplugged version, and was awesome too!! The trilogy were of a bossa nova kinda mix. Catcher in the Light and WONDERLAND's MY STORY versions made it into the setlist as interludes. I can't wait to rip this concert into mp3 format!! ^^ 7. There's lots of audience participation this time round. The audience sang Love song, SEASONS, B&D and a song is born with ayu (plus the usual evo and B&G). We did the dividing of the venue into 4 sections again, with each section doing "yayayaya" "gagagaga" "dadadada" "wowowowo". That was pure fun! ^^ 8. A World is One's hands to the sky video was shown just before the encore began, accompanied by Daybreak piano version and a Pray for Japan message. KK, I'll write a more complete review soon. yea i've been reading lots of good reviews for POM tour..unlike the previous tours..there are alwaus like 50% good and 50% bad reviews haha~
it's probably because of the arrangements of each of the songs that are completely different from the original version in which ayu would usually use in the previous tours.. people probably are more excited to hear newer version? and ayu has worked so hard to improve her vocal through training. |

Just back from the concert, I loved every minute of it. Yesterday was already so much fun but today I got really emotional and cried a lot and I think ayu also was a bit more emotional today, she cried during "a song is born" and at the beginning of the concert she was like "motto!!" all the time for our claps! She and all the troupe gave it their all for the last two days.
If it wasn't mentioned before, Love song was an acoustic version with only Yo and Enrique playing guitars, evolution and Boys&Girls were some kind of medley and Born to be... was short version (well, kind of, the verses and chorus were in different places). Moreover, at the start of forgiveness she sang an English line, something like "destruction.... desire.... but I only want to keep my life" or something.. I didn't get it completely. But it was beautiful and her voice was soooo strong!!! Oh and for audience participation, today was sooo cool!!! Everyone did like a "laola" (don't know if this is the word in English, it is in German) wave through the whole hall. Like, people were standing up in waves. It looked just awesome! And my Japanese is still at the lowest level, but I think ayu said that today was the last show for POWER of MUSIC (as some suspected already). Also, there were cameras! At least more and bigger ones than yesterday if I saw it right. AND it does not matter at all if you are in the stands or arena seats, that is just for the people who wonder. =) I was in A block for yesterday and LAST row of J block 2nd level stands today, and today was even more emotional for me. BUT if you had like front row arena seats, that would surely be an exception, haha. Quote:

The "first half" probably just means the part before a-nation '11 / a-nation 10th Anniversary... and the second half is all the concerts that are happening afterward.
Also keep in mind that Ayu said that the DVD/Blu-ray concert for POWER of MUSIC will be the Saitama show aka the LIMITED EDITION concert. |

POM reviews on 724
Hey guys. Just came back from Tokyo for the POM on 724.
Lemme write a quick review here. Video People saying that before there is no screen video here. But indeed there is a intro video before ayu appears on stage. A short movie though (Like 30s- 45s). In the video. It's black in background. And a side-faced ayu is in the background. There is caption in the video that Ayu say "Today what you don't really need to open your eyes and just with your ears. And Feel... Welcome to my arena tour "Power of Music" something like that.(Sorry I don't remember the exact phase.) Opening After the short video intro. Dancers came out from different sides of the arena. Each of them were holding a glowing sphere. (Like the one the female dancer holding in CDL11 DIA - Heaven) and all of them finally on the stage. And the show starts! 1. forgiveness Ayu appeared at the middle of the stage. She sang the english part of the forgiveness english part WITHOUT any music background. It was so amazing and the whole arena was silence!! And the whole song is in orchestra arrangement. Ayu ended the song with the english part again...and she point to each side of the arena with her strong voice and the first song ended perfectly. 2. progress The song started in orchestra arrangement. After the first chorus and suddenly it became the normal arrangement and the audience went crazy. I would like to say "progress" is nothing much different from what we heard in the game commercial. It is a good song though. 3. A Song for XX Started with band introduction and Dancer solo. And ordinary "Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey!" and it became the rock style of ASF. Much the same as AT08. 4. M kinda a rock version! She sang really well! But I dont think the song arrangement is almost the same but not likely the pitch is higher than the original version. 5. NEVER EVER People said it's the original version before but on 724 it's a rearranged version. Kinda rock. 6. walking proud Much as the same as my story classic..A very touching all time favorite! 7. part of Me Original Version -MC- It's kinda suprising that we have the MC in the middle of the concert this year. And the MC is Yo-chan. I don't know much about japanese so basically I don't really know what they were saying. But the crowd seemed enjoying a lot. Lots of laughters. 8. Love song After the MC..Ayu and Yo-chan moved to the edge of the stage. Sitting and Yo-chan playing wooden guitar and Ayu sang Love Song. 9. Vogue Another surprising that the V-F-S Trilogy is back. It starts with a latin/spanish style 3/4 claping (clap.clap.clap--clap.clap.clap.clap). And the whole song is in latin style. 10. Far Away In latin/spanish style...but a blue arrangement.. 11. Seasons Classic! in original version. Ayu asked us to sing with her together. A very touching moment. 12. July 1st Original version. Ayu and dancers sang and dance at the outer ring and the ring rotated. Everyone is waving their hands. 13. B&D A longest interactive part throughout the whole concert. it was like playing for 10-15 mins before starting B&D. First ayu asked each side of arena to sing yayayaya... and then she started catching dancers to sing yayayaya... and after playing and playing finally B&D start! 14. Mirrocle World Much as the same as original version but with violin at the back. During the each little pause between lyrics she pointed to each side of the arena then the dancers dance. (Like the CDL 11 - What she did in "Do it again" at last" 15. Evolution Original Version! Very Exciting! 16. B&G The same. (just Like every year, every concert XD) 17. Born to be In original version but little arrangement at the beginning. The whole arena went dark. And with the drum hit. Ayu and dancers were suddenly all on the stage and with the spotlight on them. A quite impressive scene. And she finally went to the runway on the another side and the stripes shot out after the band and dancers introduction. And the Curtain went down. Encore - Daybrak With the fanmade video by your guys. and finally the lyrics of the last chorus of Daybreak appeared on the video. Everyone sang together. 18. A Song is born Re-arranged version. She sang really well 19. Thank You Original Version. But the song was shorten after the "La-La-La-Laa..." it directly skipped to the final interlude and the last chrous. The red curtain went down and ayu/dances waving to us till the last moment like what they did in 7 days special -Surreal- last year. I can feel that she intended to make the concert ended in a happier atmosphere. Review I am always hoping for seeing ayu's concert in Japan. I love all the fascinating stuffs she has done throughout the years. But as an old fan of ayu, this concert is really special. She sang a lot of old songs and all-time classics and you can feel that she has less constraints than before, like she can put the MC in the middle. She keeps interacting with the crowd which she seldom does in her normal concert. And her voice is much stronger and stable than before. At the second part of the concert you can feel that her throat is tired. But she tried so hard and NEVER out-of-tune in three hours concert. I am happy with that and I am really looking for the FINAL and Limited Edition in September. Thanks for reading!:love |

On the 23rd I was at 3rd row on Arena and it was great!! Although I think I was so near that sound was not good there. On the 24 she sang way better than the day before, she rocked it out! It was really great. Here goes my mini review: -Forgiveness is probably the best performance on the entire show. It starts with the english lyrics acapella, and now im pretty sure she says: "war and destruction, crime and desire, but i wanted only keep my LOVE, every carnal sins, every inmoral deeds, but i was holding on for my LOVE" On the last chorus, instead of starting with the harmony on the original song, it starts with MAJOR tonality (sorry for my bad english...) so it sounds something full of hope and fighting-spirit... I will continue the review when i get back, im in tokyo yet!!! See you guys -M is probably the second best one. It has a catchy rock arrangement... hope we would get this on CD. -July 1st, evolution and Boys&Girls were exactly as I was expected: perfect to enjoy the live. -Love Song was an achoustic guitar version, very different from the CDL one, more rockish. -Bold&Delicious was pretty different... I dont know yet if I liked that one... but it was entertaining anyways. -Born to be was arranged with a different harmony. |
