This surprised me a lot, so sudden. I didn't like her nor her attitude, but she was ill afterall, and it's not that easy when you're in such situation.

Rest in Peace.

wildconnetta 23rd July 2011 06:02 PM

I am sad to say, I saw it coming.

I feel sorry for her parents at this time.

Just saw this earlier and told my friend :( really sad, she was so young.

Chu-Lip506 23rd July 2011 10:18 PM

chills when i heard the news, but wasn't she doing good, with drugs.
i can't believe that she gone so soon, so young, i remember see the pics of here high and drunk but everyone made fun her, but what i saw was a trouble girl, misunderstood, maybe depressed, and every thought she was crazy, but was just sad. It is a sad day but when need to remember the good things she did, like her much talent for singing.

Rest in Peace, Miss Amy, Your Family in my prayers

ayufan- 23rd July 2011 10:24 PM

first media was trashtalking about her, but now she's death they mention how great she was, what a shame!

She was one of a kind, she won't be forgotten

rest in peace Amy Whinehouse

AyuTan 23rd July 2011 11:36 PM

DANG!

She died way too young.

Rest in Peace.

hayasaki 24th July 2011 12:00 AM

OH MY GOD!!! BROKE MY HEART :(("

Bigtop 24th July 2011 12:35 AM

I was quite shocked at this. I don't want this to happen to miwa or Sayuri Sugawara (some six years younger than her), and especially she's like some six-seven years younger than Ayu...

So, let's see...we lost X Japan's TAIJI like about a week ago, and now Amy Winehouse? That's quite sad.

emi♡ 24th July 2011 01:41 AM

Just found out now...Its so awful.

Breaks my heart that she couldnt overcome whatever was bringing her down.

Just....feel so much for what she was going through, I wish she would have gotten more help :cry

CHE.R.RY 24th July 2011 03:34 AM

R.I.P. Amy Winehouse

I wasn't a fan personally but I was familiar with her music & her infamous wild life style...I was shocked this morning when I heard the news but only because it's always hard for me to believe how someone can be here one day & gone the next. It's such a shame that she had to die so young...

Kazeyomi 24th July 2011 04:35 AM

To be honest, I'm feeling sorry for her family the most. I couldn't imagine how much awful for parents to lose a daughter is. Especially when she was so young (damn, she was just 4 years older than me).
But I'm not surprised by the news itself because it was kinda expected. I don't want to be mean, seriously but.. I've ever heard of her because she was drunk or high more than because of her music. And that's sick because she was pretty talented.

May she will rest in peace now.

ohsixthirty 24th July 2011 04:39 AM

What really bothers me about this is how everyone says that they're not surprised or they saw this coming... Its SO sad because I wish someone could have done something. I mean, its just terrible to say that you expect someone to self-destruct and die, but no one does anything. Maybe there was nothing that could be done. Its terrible. :(

YUKARI 24th July 2011 05:26 AM

poor Amy, rest in peace...

hsienko 24th July 2011 05:42 AM

They told her year ago the first time she OD'd or whatever that she need to stop drinking, smoking, and doing drugs or she will die because she was already having lung problems and she didn't listen.

Yum!Fruit_Salad! 24th July 2011 05:42 AM

@ohsixthirty, In my opinion, rehab only works when the person being admitted is wanting to overcome whatever they're addicted. So even though her parents and friends were and would support her attempts, it wouldn't make that ONE difference for her to change if she didn't want it. Maybe others feel the same?

Rest in peace, Amy. :cry

SURREAL__RAINBOW 24th July 2011 06:00 AM

Though I'm pretty sure they all knew that she was a risk to her own life, and when a person is like that they don't have to go to "rehab", but need to be locked up... Which could've saved her life.

Calico 24th July 2011 06:39 AM

I never cared for her music/voice and barely knew of her through the media, but this is still a sad event, especially for her fans and family. She had a horrible disease (addiction), but at least she's finally free from its demons and its cycle now.

emi♡ 24th July 2011 07:58 AM

So many people have said distasteful things, but I think its better to just ignore them.

I think its true that, you know, you cant help someone unless they want to change, but I think theres this very large grey area, where you have a person who very much wants to change, but cant seem to figure out how, and/or nothing really works for them...and I dont think people understand sometimes how easy it is to just, take a drug and escape...

I dont know exactly where Amy fits in the whole getting help for her addiction, and honestly, her having those lyrics is just ~ew~, who knows, maybe she didnt want help...

but that to me, is even more sad than her just being addicted...oh well, the world goes on, I guess, and people are still people. Its just all sad...

PoetGirl 24th July 2011 10:40 AM

I feel sorry for her fans

RIP Amy

ImpactBreaker 24th July 2011 12:40 PM

She finally got free from her prison. I can't imagine a life of constant hang overs, bad trips and craving just for an ephemeral moment of pleasure. Must be hell on earth.

I believe some people might have tried to do something, but well, addiction can be one of the hardest things to treat because first the person has to be willing to stop it. You can't intern someone who's conscious and able to be responsible about themselves (even though they are irresponsible lol) if they really don't feel like it, otherwise it would be a private imprisonment which is a crime in most countries, I believe. And willing to get treated and interned is just the very first step of a very complicated problem which includes enduring abstinence and resisting relapses for a very long time, as well as breaking bounds with bad influences, because those and many other factors can get the person back on the addiction cycle.

fuawas 24th July 2011 02:00 PM

One of my alltime favourites... It's so sad that we won't hear her amazing voice never again...
RIP Amy and welcome to the 27 Club :(

TITANIC 24th July 2011 02:30 PM

if she just went to the rehab, she would still alive and a song called rehab would not exist

RIP Amy

Larisa-chan 24th July 2011 03:54 PM

It's my understanding that (at least since the song was made) she went to several rehabs...

I keep thinking about Amy's goddaughter, Dionne. She was so close to Amy and must absolutely devastated by her death :( :(

This is why I hate drugs... it destroys not only yourself but the relationships with those around you. A 10 year old girl that I counsel is currently dealing with her uncle (she totally idolizes him) going to rehab for drugs and she's completely crushed by the fact that she won't be able to see him for months. ::sigh::

Maemi 24th July 2011 04:19 PM

Aditmi Krisnasaki ~II~ 24th July 2011 04:25 PM

even though I never really know who she really is, may her rest in Peace. amen. -_-

panda♥ 24th July 2011 06:29 PM

i read that she didn't die as a direct result of drugs. apparently she stayed away from the hardcore drugs for a while, but was still a heavy drinker. heavy drinking induces seizures and it's speculated that a massive seizure caused her death.

Which is sad in itself, because the song Rehab is possibly her most well known song. Her talent being shown through something that contributed to her own self-destruction.

What happened to her is devastating, I heard it on the radio and I didn't think I'd heard right at first. While we all say "I expected this from her lifestyle" you don't quite expect it to happen now.

My feelings for her family and those close to her, to have tried but still have this as a result. I agree that her not wanting help, or being unable to take it, is sadder than the addiction itself.

C+R+E+AYUMI 25th July 2011 07:33 AM

hope she has finally found peace. Rest in peace Amy.

I had read that she had been in a weeks long binge and was seen buying drugs like ecstasy or cocaine or whatever the night before she died.

I've read that the media are in a competition to get the most readers, so I wouldn't trust any information about this until, say, I don't know, a month or two from now.

that's true, but i've also read that authorities said there were no signs of foul play. even if she didn't die directly from drugs/alcohol, the long term affects got to her, which she should have known were coming if she didn't stop. :( it's sad that people choose substance over life.

aqua_crystal 25th July 2011 03:15 PM

R.I.P

This news didnt come to me as a shock either, since I was expecting something like this to happen for a few years now. She wasn't able to perform without stumbling for a while now, but even though I saw this coming, I still felt terrible for her afterwards.

Lady_Eowyn 26th July 2011 04:01 PM

Who knows if she actually wanted to be helped, sometimes is not that easy to find the way out if you don't know how to search correctly, and as far as i know, detox is really long and painful, so i assume it was like a double burden for her. Is not that easy if you don't find in yourself the strenght.

Descansa en paz Amy, espero que encuentres lo que buscas...

Pieces_of_SEVEN 26th July 2011 04:43 PM

I feel bad too, death is never a joke; however, the irony of her #1 hit single being titled "rehab" is uncanny.

It's her own fault. Yeah, it sucks, but I'm not going to sugar-coat a damn thing.

Same thing with Michael Jackson. It's pretty crappy.

taskinillusion 26th July 2011 10:06 PM

Some of you need to be more sensitive/respectful about this situation.

Pieces_of_SEVEN 26th July 2011 10:37 PM

^^we don't, actually. we are free to have our own opinions.

koumori 26th July 2011 10:46 PM

^ Is it so hard just to be respectful in a thread honouring the death of a person? What is wrong with you? Take your opinion to PM or off the site. If you find it that hard just to be nice, I don't know why you bother being here.

Pieces_of_SEVEN 27th July 2011 12:36 AM

^private website love. Id love to talk about politics and sex all day, but they say no....so....oh well.

susiowong 27th July 2011 01:50 AM

I didn't really know much about her other than she drank a lot and was a pop singer, heh.

That's too bad what happened to her though.

C+R+E+AYUMI 27th July 2011 08:05 AM

it's not up to us to judge the choices of somebody else, especially when it come sto life and death.

her talent has been wasted but her songs will remain.
