JKT 48 New sister group of AKB 48 from indonesia

http://img4.uploadhouse.com/fileuplo...b611f95fb4.jpg

JKT48 are "twin sisters" of AKB48, Japanese idol group that has been popular throughout Asia. Following the success of AKB48, Indonesia will soon launch JKT48. Wait for our presence! :)

it is an official project by dentsu and AKS. This group is affiliated directly with AKB48. Their base will obviously be in Jakarta, Indonesia. Auditions are divided into 2 sessions. The first session will be held from 22 to 26 August 2011 and the second session will be held from 5 to 16 September 2011. Participants must be female, aged 13 - 18 years old, Indonesian citizen, attractive, talented and photogenic.

Here's what they wrote on their facebook page.

Dear All,

JKT48 is still a work in progress. Rest assured that JKT48 is officially affiliated with AKB48.
A press conference will be held on November to make matters clear to the public. Please keep on supporting JKT48.

Warm Regards,
JKT48

Are you kidding me?!?!

TITANIC 24th August 2011 02:50 PM

are you ********** kidding me? Now I am terribly shame to be indonesian. never stop copying and unoriginal.

NintendoHTF1242 24th August 2011 03:58 PM

They're not copying if they affiliate themselves with AKB48.

And stop overreacting, it's not like they're some Satanic group that is set-out to destroy the world, jeez.

But yeah, before you know it each country will have a ___48 group xD

THIS minus the copying thing because it's officially affiliate
I didn't get the point of debuting here while we have soooooooo many KPop groups wannabes -_-"
It could be a way of Japan putting their hands in Indonesia first, because Korea is coming from Thailand

^ It's just that somehow putting 48 group x Indonesia = Not a good mixture
I don't know if they'll adapt but they should, because things like lingerie wearing group of girls for PV is lowly regard in Indonesian's public eye imo

Ranma Matsuri 25th August 2011 12:55 AM

There hasn't been an official press release of this so there's still a lot of doubt but there have been a few reports of girls trying out. I don't doubt this is true since Aki-P has stated that he plans on selling his "48 concept" around the world and TWN48 was confirmed (though there hasn't been any news about it since). I don't know what the popular music sound/trend is in Indonesia but I'm interested in what kind of sound and image this group will have.

a_kingdom21 25th August 2011 05:51 AM

^^
the trends is ballady malay tunes...
huehehehe...

bondingo 25th August 2011 06:11 AM

Ew.

AyUta 25th August 2011 07:35 AM

Wow.

Polyrhythm 25th August 2011 09:26 AM

Um okay.

AyuGAME 25th August 2011 02:24 PM

boysband and girlsband also a trend right now...electro music with silly lyric...
maybe JKT48 will work...but still...ew...

Chibi-Chan 25th August 2011 03:04 PM

Oh my... xD

y_nathz 25th August 2011 04:07 PM

I wonder if this would work in my country, girlgroups seems to be a trend here lately, I never pay attention on local music but I recognized some of them being very popular among my schoolmates.. I don't think wearing bikinis and lingeries will get you fans here in Indonesia, it's inappropiate here.

But tbh I don't think it's a good idea to have a ***48 group here.. why don't they do a Singaporean version ? They have a theatre there already, right ?

LacusClyne 25th August 2011 06:59 PM

^i think it's because singapore market is small, not everyone buy cds here, so it's risky to market a group here with so many members.

the company would be making a lose....

some singapore singers can have a celebration after selling 2000 copies here... so yeah, the market is just THAT small. if a group of 30+ members were to share the earnings, it's very very little, not to mention the cost of packaging the girls. very risky

YUKARI 25th August 2011 07:07 PM

if I was Indonesian, 13-18 years old, I'd participate for sure XD

it seems like AKB48 wants to create an army setting their affiliates around the world lol.

HTMSD 27th August 2011 10:59 PM

I'm Indonesian, and I'm skeptical about this group.
I know it's official, but just... I think it's gonna be a disaster.

It's seems there is something going on... we have to keep our eyes peeled!

AyumiAi 28th August 2011 02:58 AM

Just saying, with the success of all the 48's in Japan, i think the people behind them know what their getting into, and have probably carefully analyzed music trends in various asian countries and whats appropriate in which country and picked indonesia as the best place to start their expansion

emi♡ 28th August 2011 07:09 AM

I don't think it's that bad if they're doing the whole "theater" thing that AKB does...or did...or whatever...

cause not a lot of people do that. I think people forget about that when thinking of AKB.

Ranma Matsuri 11th September 2011 09:02 AM

^Yeah, thanks for mentioning that. It's the reason there's a handful of xxx48 groups in Japan already. It's to reach out to more fans locally by establishing theaters in different areas. That's their whole concept: "Idols you can meet".

==============

Anyone still doubting the legitimacy of JKT48 can put those thoughts to rest.

Only girls that live in Indonesia, 13~18 years old, that don't have a contract with any agency.

Application period: till ~09/16.

And then, the standard: photo sessions, first selection, interview (last days of September) and final judging on dance and vocals (10/08 and 10/09)
It's official.

It'll be a group adapted to Indonesian culture and will make it's debut by the end of the year.

So if all goes well, they'll be the first overseas xxx48 group... should be very very interesting to see how they fare.

Aditmi Krisnasaki ~II~ 11th September 2011 11:36 AM

o.O

I just ... dunno what to say...

oh, okay, yeah, this thread makes more sense of what all the 48 groups are all about, and why there are so many.

Thanks for all the info~

YUKARI 11th September 2011 11:43 AM

imagine there would be American USA48 or something :laugh

I'm quite interested in these affiliates now. Waiting for Korean and Chinese 48s

AyuGAME 11th September 2011 06:08 PM

OMG.. that would be great! it's been a long time that US hasn't had a girl group since Destiny's Child! :luv2

Ranma Matsuri 12th September 2011 02:59 PM

Lol, not sure how a USA48 would work out... well, actually I'm a bit sure but it's just something I rather not think about. XD I love idol groups and would like some based here be it in the form of a xxx48 group or something new entirely. I'm just worried about 'extremists' who only associate idols with underaged girls in bikinis and middle-aged Japanese men succeeding in crushing the idea before it even gets off the ground. I guess if they took out the 'idol' factor and just focused on the theater, television, and music aspects it could work though.

A TWN48 was confirmed early this year. Auditions and a show were supposed to start this summer but then news about it stopped completely. Not sure if the project was postponed or just fell through.

Then there's also this: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news...in-6-countries

Italy :laugh

I think Singapore has a really good chance of getting one since they seem to be pretty popular there. They already have shops and cafes there so a theater and a group to go with it doesn't seem too far off.

Agieboyz 18th September 2011 02:36 AM

WOw... Indonesian will have 48 group???? Interesting...
Hope this group will be better than other Boy/girlbands in indonesia. wich is so trend now...

LONJJONG 18th September 2011 05:00 AM

they will debut at the end of this year?
soooo rushedd......

Ranma Matsuri 4th October 2011 07:11 PM

So AKB48 Captain Takahashi Minami was the special guest of a handshake event in Jakarta today done to formally introduce the xxx48 family to the public as well as meet those who are already fans. She was accompanied by a translator and famous journalist Rosiana Silalahi (not sure why) and in the wave of questions and general chaos, she also managed to run into:

You guess it, it's JKT48's Team J.

I counted 36 girls (minus Takahashi), more than likely only 16 will actually be Team J and the rest will be put into the other two teams later. They're a little rough looking (like most idols when they start out) but there's some really pretty faces here already, can't wait to see them when they officially debut and get makeovers.

HTMSD 23rd December 2012 05:34 AM

their first album is going to be released on January 2013 :D
