Totally don't need this lol. And personally I think it should be A CLIP BOX II, and contain only material from the videos after A CLIP BOX.
But really, since all the videos since Memorial Address have been added to their respective album, there's no reason for DVD compilations anymore. Blu-Ray is one thing, but even then...seeing Dearest for the billionth time but in BR quality isn't going to be all that exciting for me... haha I think a smart marketing move, at least for die hard fans, would be to release a new single on the same day, but only have the video available in this set and release the single just as cd only. It'd be sneaky and mean, but smart for Avex baha. |
a bluray version of it would be worthy to buy, but not the dvd if you bought all ayu's album and a complete clip box.

Wow! I'm glad I have the first clip box and the CD + DVD versions of her other albums as this is expensive. Though a lot of fun for someone who hasn't seen or doesn't own all her PVs.

I think it is better to release 4375897 unnecessary things than not releasing them, isnt it? That means ayu is still on the market. And of course the point on releasing this is obviously the bluray release, as we didnt get any of those pv's in HD

Maybe what I'll do is, download from someone here first and then if it does look good in HD I'll consider buying it, but for now it's not that necessary.

I like how they named it A CLIP BOX 1998-2011. Like there's a possibility of some release titled A CLIP BOX 2012-2025 in the future. Sneaky.

They should release something like that when Ayu dies, not before.
As several persons already said, it's useles for those who have the first compilations of clips (A Clips, A Clips vol. II, A Complete Clip Box) AND the post-RAINBOW albums in CD+DVD edition. I could have thought buying it if it would have been some new material (unreleased PV or alternate versions...), but as it is now, it's definitely not for me :( And for that price, I can have much and much more things haha . |

Well, not point for me. Already got the box and only missing GUILTY, MS and MA as DVD+CD combo, if I truly want 'em I can buy those later.. And OMG that price! I paid that much from my Complete Live with 4DVDs + shipping and that one's way more rare. Not gonna buy this one. Oh, and it's 14,000 yen more than original release of Clip Box.

Are you sure that all PVs are in HD? I think some of old PVs are not shot in HD. I really exciting about it but I'm so scared if they are upscaled-videos like aired on M-ON!. = =" Avex should provide more information about video and audio quality.

I have the original Complete Clip Box (and I don't have $300 to spare), so I think I'll pass for now. I'm really interested to hear more about the ~exclusive new clips, though. |
i don't think that her old pvs will be in HD, Morning Musume is going to release the same thing a compilation of all her PVS and this is what you find on the description on YesAsia: ※M1～M41: SD編集・画質は通常のDVD画質と同等です。 ※M42～M47: HD編集画質 (ハイビジョン対応)です。 "the first 41 PVs are in Standard Definition, the last PVs are in Hihgh Definition."

I don't really think it is too expensive. It is after all a lot of content. I won't buy it because I always bought CD & DVD's versions of Ayu's albums and also bought the Complete Clip Box a few years ago. So even if there is something new it doesn't make much sense to buy it. This is something for the absolute hardcore fan or people who still don't have all of her videos. I often rewatch the Complete Clip Box. Ayus older PV's have loads of charm! Her latest on the other hand - I hardly rewatch them. :(

This is a bit scary in a way....
But I wonder what 'never before seen' clips we'll see. As far as the price is concerned, this is normal for Japanese super-compilations. I think they have a set price of charging per DVD or Blu-ray even if there isn't that much content. For example, a 13 episode series box set of something can go for 10,000+ yen plus and can be pretty barebones. I will say this though, normally places like Amazon have INCREDIBLE discounts for sets like this. There's a possibility that they won't, but sometimes they sell at 20-30% off the suggested retail price. |
Excited about whatever "unreleased" content we get, but otherwise this is way too pricey a purchase to really care about.

It's so expensive, and with the shipping cost will be more expensive (and don't forget some taxes).
With that money i can buy a cell phone, or another iPod! If they release an OS press, maybe i can buy it :) Oh Dear avex, don't release more stupid compilations, some fans like me want new music !! This would be awesome if there were PV's that were recorded but were never shown or released, and then like sit down interviews, with Ayu explaining the the meanings behind her vids for every album, and giving commentary on her faves and least faves
