New album in 2012 ~II~

As you know, Ayu is now in London working on a new album for 2012, recording new songs, PV and photoshots.

She has said that on TA, also mentionign some of the people she is working with:

Tasuku, CMJK, Nobita-kun, Timmy (Timothy Wellard), Masashi Muto, Leslie Kee and Ryan!

Since the other thread already went over 500 posts, and I found some info about PV/track, I'm making the new thread!

I paste here the post I did on the ohter thread =D

Quote:

Guys~ I follow this japanese fan on twitter, and she said she had listened part from one new Ayu song! She tweeted it afterwards to another japanese fan.

Quote:

I can't understand it all... sth about a PV being recorded in a neighbourhood and someone making pics or clips... but that isn't available now... and she says the song is rockish!

I checked her tweets and she talked in english to some guy who sent her the clip by mail... the twitter is @BintAdam13, so I guess it's true =D

Wish this guy would show the pictures and video =(

Edit!

Checked her/his twitter! she/he posted pictures (very bad quality) I hope that person doesn't mind if copy the links here? D=

So Timmy is appearing in a PV again! Funky looks XD Looks liek they were practicing some dance? :O That might be the reason for the Pinneapple studio lessons!

That person said: "ahhahaha I know right! I can't believe I saw her today! She was wearing a shiny red/blue top and the dancer with her was this woman with blue/pink hair..." (Mistaked Timmy being a woman lol)
Translation from that tweet by Misa-chan:

Quote:

I've tweeted about ayu in English before, and it seems like this person from the UK stumbled upon my tweets. There was an Asian superstar doing filming near his home and he took some photos and videos, but he didn't know who it was. He didn't know who to show the photos to, so he searched on Twitter and found me. (laugh) It's a rock song! By the way, he seems to have deleted the video, so we can't find it anymore. (laugh)
UPDATE 08/12

From someone who worked in the shooting of 3 PV in London, guess with costumes!

So last week I got work with the amazing Cynthia Lawrence-John on a project for japanese artist, Ayumi Hamasaki

I was unaware of he her status in Japan, but when I got told we to prep for 3 music videos back to back, I got scared lol

This is day 1 of 3 prep days. I had to get clothes for 25-30 boys…

http://img403.imageshack.us/img403/5536/46350882.th.png

Prep day 3 & then 1st shoot day.

Location for the 1st video was an apartment in East London, house party!

http://img805.imageshack.us/img805/7001/40043587.th.png

Shoot day number 2. Location, Battersea Power Station

Possibly the longest shoot day I’ve ever worked, 7am-3am…
I was finished lol!

3 & final shoot day. Location, Fabric club in Farringdon

Another info we know is:

* Song called "Shake it" (is it comfirmed by someone who worked on the PV or sth?)
* Ayu talked about shooting standing on a military tank.
* Shooting with Leslie (photoshoot I guess) in a open location, a field...

Can't wait! *-*

PoetGirl 29th November 2011 01:42 AM

lol I cant see anything in pictures, it really is a bad quality, but its better, its just for the tease, so its rock :O

freedreamer 29th November 2011 01:47 AM

Masashi Muto!!! and Tasuku!?!?!? i would die for a taskin- track :)

owlflight 29th November 2011 02:00 AM

Ooh sounds very interesting. I don't know how patient I will be to see this PV. Hope this album gets a Bluray release!

Misa-chan 29th November 2011 02:01 AM

OMG what was Timmy wearing in those photos?!! :laugh

Exciting to the max!! I still can't truly comprehend the fact that she's making another album so soon again. :love

freedreamer 29th November 2011 02:03 AM

I wonder if she's gonna be stomping down the neighbourhood hahahah...like in MW or something..

so this is the dance PV im assuming? or a 4th PV..

(im so scared she's just making 3 PVs...with another 5 carried over from....erhmm)

We will never get that but we can all dream.

On a side note, I think it's starting to get to be that time where I need to stay away from most of these threads. I hated all the information we got leading up to R'n'R and I do not want expectations to start churning in my mind. I can feel the excitement rising in the pit of my stomach about this rock song already and I MUST KILL IT BEFORE THE SONG IS RELEASED AND IT KILLS ME FROM DISAPPOINTMENT THAT I HAVE CREATED MYSELF!!!

Well, here's to waiting until the new album.

This is how I feel tbh :laugh I mean, i'm excited as hell, it just feels so... off, like it's really hard to grasp. I love how Ayu's keeping on us our toes lately, she used to be so formulaic, now she's really doing whatever she wants :yes

Also, the return of Tasuku? Omg, win.

I don't really keep track of composers and things like that. Has it been long since tasuku has worked with ayu?

Miss her song so much!!

bondingo 29th November 2011 12:32 PM

Ew, and I was hoping Timmy was gone.

Excited it's a rock song though. As many of them as she's done, I don't think there's a rock song of Ayu's I don't like.

miki_beland 29th November 2011 12:39 PM

I dont like that looks =( I hope this wont be a new Lady Dynamite. I liked that song very much at the beggining, but with time it's now one of my less favourites from rnrc

relmy 29th November 2011 12:55 PM

More rock? Damn, I was hoping she would stick with the mid-tempo direction she'd been steering towards. I love mid-tempo Ayu, I eat up stuff like Crossroad and November. Oh and Last Angel too, where she just mashes up everything into something that you can' really place.

I like her pop-rock stuff (stuff like Duty or how Liar has a pop-rock feel), but I'm not a huge fan of the more rock than pop ones, like GUILTY (the album) for example.

kumiko.koda 29th November 2011 01:18 PM

I can't wait to hear this rock song and all the other songs which will be on her next album :yes

I hope we get more information about the album, songs and PVs soon

I want to order the album already

Luja. 29th November 2011 02:03 PM

Oh, thanks for the new info aura!
I am very excited for this album:heart

Mami-chan 29th November 2011 03:04 PM

I wonder when she's going to announce it...
I need at least a title and a date ;__;

freedreamer 29th November 2011 04:16 PM

I wonder if she'll pull a RnRC and announce a tour first hahaha..
Ayu probably may not want to rush it within the financial year? but of coz i want it sooner....Ayu, your fans are waiting!!! the mere thought of uptempo tracks just makes me spazz...
Though Love songs had sending mail but... >.< i wan something like in the essence of Microphone hahaha...or something dark & pop-rockish...cant wait!!

are you a troll, or just have incredibly mundane taste? I can't tell...

Tom Punks 29th November 2011 04:42 PM

This album feels sooo much like R'n'RC part 2. Part of me expects it to sound like R'n'RC, but she's never had two albums that sound particularly similar.

I hope the album is really upbeat and sassy/fierce. I don't usually say I want Ayu to be fierce, but I'm so tired of her trying to be cute, pretty, ballad-y, etc. I want something exciting to listen to, like an album that's as intense as Microphone all the way through. It's not that I'm hoping for no ballads or all rock songs, but rather that the ballads are memorable and not all soft and forgettable like beloved. I also hope it's nothing like NEXT LEVEL because that album tried so hard to be fun and catchy and fell flat on its face imo. Those songs drag on like there's no tomorrow.

I think I'm basically hoping for R'n'RC with the ballads from (miss)understood and the interludes from anything but R'n'RC.

Not gonna lie though, that shot of Timmy in the red diaper killed most of my expectations for this album. :x

rakeru 29th November 2011 05:03 PM

Timmy may end up being my favorite part of this new album. I love this guy.

AyumiAi 29th November 2011 05:40 PM

I have a weird observation, a lot of people were saying that RnRC was a sort of I am... part II and that Lovesongs was a Rainbow part II (this is what I read in the forums) and now she releases FIVE, in order with the release of MA after Rainbow, so after that (just for fun lets pretend she's following this cycle) would come MS, and MS was a pretty rockish filled album, About You, Game, Hummin 7/4, and now she's in Britian filming a rockish PV :P interesting

If this happens I will check myself into a mental ward rehab facility for I would fear I might end up killing myself. Just thinking about the possibility of such an atrocity makes me want to cut myself and sit in the bathroom crying uncontrollably.

I don't remember anyone making such a comparison; those albums are nothing alike. Compered to Memorial Address, FIVE is just meh. Also I think that I am... and RAINBOW had much stronger and very different themes than RnRC and Love songs.

Masamune 29th November 2011 06:01 PM

I found FIVE boring too...only BRILLANTE was a little different, but PV kills the songXD...too duets in my thinking...

How on earth could you make such a comparison?

RAINBOW and I am... sound much more similar to each other than than to either RnRC or Love Songs. She doesn't really have any other album that is "similar" to Love Songs which should be obvious many reasons (komuro compositions, the "acoustic classical" feel mixed with komuros dance beat from the original demos, more coherent than most post MA albums).

I trust this album will be good too, regardless of genre. It's ayu after all. :P

Tom Punks 29th November 2011 07:18 PM

imo None of her albums sound particularly similar. Even I am... and RAINBOW sound nothing alike, but they're still closer to each other than R'n'RC and Love songs are to them. x_x

RayJason 29th November 2011 07:29 PM

Sorry, didn't realise I wasn't allowed to like mid-tempo pop orientated songs. :/

I find her attempts at rock to be mundane and repetitive. It's just my taste.

I'm not the one saying that the two are similar, I'd read on the forum HERE people saying that not that they are similar, but that RnRC is like I Am where people love it but that Love Songs is like Rainbow because it's more cohesive and ballady but not as fan favourite as I am... people were saying that the two followed the same pattern, and I was just making the tiny observation that after both she released a mini...

Also, No way to say is magical :)

Kazeyomi 29th November 2011 08:37 PM

this. I never get the hate for Greatful Day :shrug it's such a cute upbeat song.

Btw I'd call Love songs the new RAINBOW just because it's rather different from her usual sound. I mean, all her albums doesn't sound the same but somehow RAINBOW stands out as for Love songs. But nope they're not similar :laugh

Anyway I'm really hoping for a new rock song :luv2

RayJason 29th November 2011 08:43 PM

I don't believe that 'you have to get why people dislike songs' at all. I mean like everyone has their own opinion about stuff, and trying to find out about that is kinda senseless, sure informative but in the context regarding what happens with that info on this forum; senseless. When someone dislikes Grateful Day, I honestly don't think that you have to 'investigate' why they do...:innocent

Greatful days is one those songs for which I need to be in a very special mood to enjoy. I agree that it should've never been on Memorial address as it ruined the flow. Still FIVE barely has a real flow and even with Greatful days on it Memorial address is purely epic, while FIVE could've been a double a-side single for all I care with progress/BRILLIANTE and perhaps Why... feat. JUNO as a stronger b-side. beloved and ANother song are totally b-side material.

This is the kind of comparison there was a lot of a while ago, that's what I was talking about not that they're stylistically the same...

Pieces_of_SEVEN 29th November 2011 09:26 PM

^^Ummm or read my post more clearly. I honestly wasn't sure if the post was sarcastic, because I believe so many are tired of the same old, boring, mid-tempo pop songs. They all sound "safe" and the same.

Mundane taste meaning there's no variety...and there isn't, if you want the same thing over and over. Even though a lot of us here are hoping for upbeat tracks, we wouldn't ALWAYS want them...then we'd get bored of them too. Isn't variety the spice of life? That's all I'm saying. You can like whatever the hell you want. lol

isthisLOL? 29th November 2011 09:31 PM

Just to explains why I said I prefer FIVE:
Both FIVE and Memorial Address include two tracks I absolutely adore. progress/BRILLANTE and forgiveness/Memorial Address. But the rest of Memorial Address is simply nothing special to me. With the exception of HANABI ~Episode II~, ourselves and Because of You - but ONLY performed live since I don't like the studio versions. Greatful Days? Probably my least favorite Ayumi song together with AUDIENCE and Fly High. ANGEL's SONG? Catchy but not on one level with the rest. No way to say...? Really tacky and the same song she has released 15 times before, I enjoy it live but it's nothing new or especially great in any way.

For FIVE I like every song in one way or another in the studio versions and except for beloved every song is something new for Ayumi in one way or another. And when you look at the amount of songs included FIVE has a bigger part of songs I really love. 40% compared to Memorial Address' 25%. So...that explains my love for FIVE.

ayupan90 29th November 2011 09:54 PM

ooh this is interesting! I asked Timmy when I met him if he was involved in the recordings and he said something like 'at the moment I'm just going to the studio with ayu but not singing' and I said to him 'you can't tell us anyway, can you ;)' hahaha

The rockish sound and Timmy's punk looking clothes (I think he's wearing a jacket on top to keep warm) makes sense. The site asking for extras wanted people with extreme looks. So maybe part of this rockish pv is set in an alternative night club. I love that she lets the place she's recording/filming influence her work (altho they tend to be stereotypes XD e.g. rnrc and mirrorcle world).

I don't really think FIVE is better but finally someone not talking about how ~amazing & flawless~ Memorial address is :hi5. There are really only 3 outstanding songs on there imo (Memorial address, Because of You, HANABI ~ep 2~) the rest are either terrible or just ok.

You can like whatever the hell you want. lol

Not everyone is bored of them, and not all of them are the same. Like I said, in my opinion, her rock is mundane and she's be doing it too much. Read my post again.

She's not done the style in Crossroad and November for a while, until Love Songs.

My taste is not mundane because I enjoy a certain style from her, I don't just listen to Ayu. :p Again, I think she's done too much rock, and Ayu rock isn't my cup of tea.

well... that Japanese person is me xD lol I was so surprised when I found this lol And I'm not girl..... lol

You're concluding that from knowing there's *a* rock song and *a* dancey song? O___O

We don't even have any singles to tell what direction she's heading, and many times we can't even trust that.

No, I meant from how we're finding out all these little pieces of information so far in advance, how one PV is set in a club so most people are drawing parallels to Lady Dynamite, how it's also set in London, etc.

Same thing I thought while reading his comment... Just skip him :laugh. Such behavior....

Well I'm speaking from the perspective that it seems Greatful days gets a lot of crap from a MAJORITY of people. And I could understand a few people here and there not liking it, but when it is clear that many people regard this song as boring or have such hatred for it... I am puzzled. For me, this is a classic Ayu song. I mean, it really is not THAT cutesy. It is a lot less cutesy than glitter, BLUE BIRD, Beautiful Fighters (which this one is understandable even though I like it). I'm just very confused as to how so many people can dislike this song. It's unique - the beat is fresh. I guess we'll never know...

I'm not talking about do why someone dislike a song. I mean, I wouldn't make out a big deal if somebody dislike a song while I love it. Really. But there are songs (especially, nor only, here in AHS) that always get hate by fans.
Greatful days and Humming 7/4 are two good examples.
If you ask which song do you hate of Memorial Address and MY STORY, those two would be on first positions.

And I never get why people hate them so much, because there is not anything wrong with them. But you're right, this is kinda a senseless discussion because everyone has their own tastes. I was just curious lol.

PoetGirl 29th November 2011 11:28 PM

Because of you is also overrated. Meh.

I really think that previous works are glorified just because they are previous. At the moment she releases them everyone is like 'omg the worst thing ever, whats wrong with her, what the hell is she thinking, her career is over forever, im done with my life'.

Tom Punks 29th November 2011 11:29 PM

I get why people might not like Greatful days, but I don't really get why everyone thinks it's so annoying. Like zeke said, it's not sickeningly cutesy like glitter, Beautiful Fighters, etc. but it gets so much more hate than they do for being "annoying." idgi. :shrug

jbrat2219 30th November 2011 12:29 AM

I love Greatful days' PV but that's about it.

There's plenty of old works that are just as much hated as newer ones. :shrugs There's definitely the nostalgia factor for her old stuff, but you don't get nostalgia over things you don't care for.

@TomPunks- Phew :laugh

I hope this album will be nothing like RnRC, it's my only wish.
Timmy's red diaper reminds me of Lady Dynamite, and I really dislike this song...
And I don't want another "rock-wannabe" album. RnRC got the looks, but included 3 "rock-vibed" songs (LD, Microphone and countdown and the real rocky-vibe was only Microphone) I love Ayu rockvibed songs but closer to Memorial, My Story, I am or (m)u. I don't want them to be as massive as on GUILTY (they still feells a little too weird for me, but I still like em) Ayu's music genres are very diffrent, so the themed-albums doesn't fit her well. (Love songs was a little confusing with the title)

And please, no cutesy-rock covers with "innocent lamb" eye-look like RnRC. If Ayu wants to do something with a sharp claw, then it should be something like FIVE or talkin' 2 myself (or even NEVER EVER) covers. Something a lil' bit sexy, a lil bit edgy, and a lil bit of massive star. The harajuku-kawaii-cute-rock look doesn't fit Ayu. I wish the title/covers/theme can fit the wise-world of her songs, cause I'm hoping that not all the songs will be in one "genre" cause it's kinda surrealistic idea (she never done that in studio albums not including ASfxx, but NEXT LEVEL was kinda close ;D)

letter 30th November 2011 03:38 AM

I've been listening to Akiko Shikata, and I think Ayu should ask her kindly to arrange/compose a song or two for her if she'd be willing. Her arrangements are amazing, and she draws from classical music, of which Ayu seems to be fond as of late.

LEOyumi 30th November 2011 04:45 AM

Greatful Days is a nice song, I like it better than ANGEL'S SONG.
And Memorial Address is way better than FIVE to me, but it doesn't make the latter a horrible release. In fact, I think it was gorgeous.
I'm so excited for this album! I hope the work in London pays of and has a nice influence! I love those english inspired things, but I didn't enjoy RnRC that much...

I guess it won't be long now ... If she is shooting PVs, then the album may be almost done !
I'd love a surprise like Ayu announcing in some days that it will be released on January 1st :D

MissElin_ 30th November 2011 08:44 AM

^That I'm not hoping for. :P I need some more time to save up money for the lovely super duper extra special first press limited edition. xD

brener 30th November 2011 08:47 AM

me too... i smell something high priced coming around....

kagami 30th November 2011 08:53 AM

For some reason I think this'll be a 1st of January release...probably I'm wrong haha

owlflight 30th November 2011 11:56 AM

I want at least an official announcement with date, title and maybe covers. I still have to get past the financial downfall of the holidays cause I'm busy buying everyone presents. Of course, I'll get this release and ayaka's new CD as a present to myself :D

mizuki-7 30th November 2011 12:10 PM

The 1st january exile release an album so i don t think avex want do that the same day ?!

Suteisi 30th November 2011 12:47 PM

I don't think we need to worry for a "RnRC Part 2", none of Ayu's album sound similar so I don't see why this one would sound similar to a previous one. She seems to always be working with new techniques and trying out new things as she evolves as a person. I've been surprised with every album she's come out since I've been following her in 2003.

I'm just hoping she over the ballad phase at this point. I'm happy to hear they were filming a rock PV and seeing all of the adverts for "funky" looking extras, I think we might have some special PVs coming up :B It's exciting!

And I'm totally cheering for a January 2012 release, maybe not the 1st but January for sure.

lol, its just Im on pop/cute/ballady side. I would choose meaning of Love over Because of you anyday, even tho I like Because of you, its just not the top of the top for me.

Lady_Eowyn 30th November 2011 03:57 PM

Personally, i'm SO tired of mid tempo ballads... someone stated some time ago all her recent ballads have been in this fashion, and this comment made me realize i couldn't agree more; that was one of the reasons i just stopped listening to her. Those sort of songs are waaay too average and popular for my taste. (seriously, what about something like jewel?)

On the contrary, i'm really craving for some GOOD rock. I'll be happy with just a couple of good rock songs, please Ayumi, do something like talkin'to myself :weep

and i don't think we'll have anything on january first, her office announces everything with at least two months of anticipation lol :p

Ps.- i love your cartoon zeke, the owl is adorable. And i love greatful days too. :P

ayupan90 30th November 2011 04:13 PM

does her mini album count towards her record of having a number one album every year? coz if it doesn't, the record would stop, right?

ayumisrael 30th November 2011 04:16 PM

Yes, but I don't think that avex want to ruin her new #1 streak since NEXT LEVEL, at least not now =P

freedreamer 30th November 2011 04:19 PM

^please don go there. LOL! it still pains me that it should have been #1 weekly if not for that combined week hahah..to me her streak was never broken but on sites and papers, yea it was >.<

Tom Punks 30th November 2011 04:24 PM

^ I know. It was like everything I knew in my life had shattered. I never fully recovered. I don't know if I'll ever be the same. :weep

CHE.R.RY 30th November 2011 04:25 PM

Wow a rock song huh? I wonder what it'll sound like *.*!
