Ok, Dejavu Tour is fantastic!
Beautiful stage, great costumes and looks, awesome vocals, nice effects - what do I need more? Love the intro and transition to POP DIVA. Also that blue costume and her dark make up, it fits her so much, one of my favourites ever! The set up and the dancing for the first part are just great. Okay and Aitakute - oh my, great! Passing By gave me chills and tears were floating in my eyes - so gorgeous! Probably my absolute favourite performance from this tour. Her vocals are so good for all the ballads. When the cute part started I was like "Nooo, continue with the dark fast songs and emotional ballads". XD But I was pretty fast into them. :laugh Fun and addiciting, especially Hey baby!. Kuu was so powerful in the Encore and her dance part was the best, but too short. That split! Want more again! XD The interlude movies were typical Kuu again, but I laughed pretty hard at some points. e.g. U*G starting to sing Ai no Uta cause of the Kuu Candy or the penguins! :laugh I'm really curious how the real end of the tour looks like. And of course the missing songs! Favourites: Intro, POP DIVA, Okay, Aitakute, Passing By (WOW!), Hey baby!, You are not alone I so can't wait for the DVD! Probably Spring till we get it. :( The only thing I crave for now is actually a full tour with a coherent theme again, means not that extreme changes between the moods (like emotional ballads and -bam- cute like usually). Black Cherry was pretty close to that, with serious interlude movies, a story and a coherent atmosphere. I would love to see a tour like that again someday.^^ |
I wonder if we are gonna get a Kuu Wedding? I know they just want to get married for the sake of her pregnancy, but I want to see her in a wedding dress.

[Driving Hit's 4] would be a release that I look forward to. The 3rd one however, was the only one that I actually fancied.
And I guarantee that Avex is going to release a compilation of some sort whether it be a PV or song compilation. It's going to happen in some way or fashion. But then again who knows. This all speculation and assumption. :P |

guys, people on some forums are speculating that Japonesque sales are going to be quite low, since some people I meet that have friends on japan said me that japanese people is not handing so well the fact that kuu is getting married 'cause she's pregnant, and also by the fact that all promotions are going to be cancelled due to her pregnancy. What do u think? I don't see a big problem for Japonesque the fact that she's pregnant :S and promotions nowadays are something that works different from years ago. (for ex: Universe just had one live performance with "you're so beautiful", and kingdom didn't have any live for Under and Amai wana (which were the two promotional songs).
I think it will work well, at least I hope so. But I wonder why japanesse audience are saying that about kuu's pregnancy. It's like they always want to talk bad about her for everything she does. I don't remember very bad comments on Ayu's wedding in las vegas... Imagine if kuu gets married in las vegas with a stranger :S I don't know if I'm clear... (aaaaggggg!! wish my english was better to really know how to capture my thoughts clearly...) |
I was also afraid that japanese people would react negatively to the pregnancy + marriage, but probably these people aren't the ones who would buy JAPONESQUE even if nothing had happened. And will all the promotion be cancelled? She can perform a ballad or a mid-tempo song on the TV shows...
I really don't know how JAPONESQUE will sell. I don't really care for single sales, but for me it's important for the album to get some good numbers, not necessarily many copies sold, but many weeks charting and that kind of thing. By the way, has avex already announced any tie-in for the new tracks? And they should give us at least previews from the songs this week since we'll get the album in less than a month |: |

I wouldn't be surprised if it sells pretty bad tbh.
It's already going to be fairly low, most likely around 200k...and if people really start not liking her...and it goes way lower, nothing really we can do :shrug those numbers are still really high compared to most female solos so...it's not so bad. |

Well, that doesn't mean we won't get song previews in the next days, probably around New Year as well. I mean, it's just a month till the full album is released! :laugh Japonesque will sell 100k for sure, ger fanbase is stable enough. I hope it will do around the same like Dejavu, but you'll never know how the japanese public takes the news. People who aren't fans just hear "shotgun marriage", I guess, and don't inform further on it. So probably she will sell a bit less than the previous album, Dejavu, again, just like in the last years. That's what I expected before her pregnancy news and what I expect now, haha. |

I don't really care about sales either, but it's nice for a singer to see her/his hard work paid off by having good sales/ranking. Kuu mentions this herself as well (in a interview, I don't remember which one). I think most singers want to reach as many people as possible.
Besides, the more popular someone becomes, the more jealous haters pop up. In a way having lots of haters means you're popular :laugh |

I'm a little worried because the album doesn't have any tie-in yet, only the single tracks and they aren't huge (except Love Me Back, but it didn't sold that much).
I don't care about the sales either, Dejavu didn't sold a lot physically but digitally sold really well. |

Well, Kingdom still sold pretty well, considering the extremely negative publicity she was getting at that time. So, I can't see Japonesque selling bad for reasons other than typical declining sales of physical CDs. And even Ayu doesn't sell that well, she gets number one all the time because avex releases her stuff at times when there is no competition for her streak. You won't see an Ayu single released the same day as an AKB48 single.

tbh, women like koda always have haters. *****es be jealous ;P and some people, some people are party killers and they always want their music to be all deep and serious and "artistic", and I think they see koda as the opposite of that :shrug (notice the emphasis on always; dont have a cow) Anyway, there are always haters around too, even here, and idk why they even come into this thread. I don't like AKB, so you know what, I stay my ass out of their thread :laugh I am so...I must have previews now. I wonder when the PV previews will be out...probably a long ways away. |
"Love me back" is stuck in my head and I'm not even a big fan of Kumi. I think I have to buy either the single or Japonesque now (love the cd only cover!)

Oh yeah, Dejavu Tour DVD cover is gorgeus as hell. I can't even describe in words how much I love that. I love the idea how it has that Dejavu album cover thingy going on there. It's so awesome because I adore Dejavu cover so much. Kuu is just too fierce. :heart I noticed you were talking about Kuu haters a while ago. I agree with everything you've said. As a Kuu fan though I don't understand why people can hate such a sweet person like Kuu so much. It's a matter of taste of course, but to me Kuu is something that no one should be able to hate. :D Besides, I don't get it when people hate her because of 2005-2006 image. I have to agree with what everyone has said about the whole kuu being hated thing. The younger generation in japan all love her. She's always cheered when she goes to concerts, even more so recently, and her concerts are always sold out. Ai wo tomenaide was #1 digitally for ages, and sold well digitally, and then love me back actually sold more physical copies than Ai wo tomenaide, and did well digitally.
I have seen some fans on FB go 'oh she's going to sell low because of the whole pregantcy and marriage', but personally I thought the whole thing would actually boost her sales. People love it in japan when someone gets married, and she is all over the news at the moment. And JAPONESQUE has a lot to offer, the most to offer since Kingdom, so I think it should well. :) I think it should definately sell well over 200k, I'd be very surprised if it didn't. And I don't think her image can be that hated, considering her Secret live tour 2005 (first tour) was the best selling concert DVD ever to date, only just been taken over by AKB8 by a small 1000 sales this year. :) I think it's just the older generation that scorn it. Also, Dejavu Tour was AMAZING! I was blown away. I loved all of it, by far her most fierce and best performance to date. Her singing for the ballads were excellent, she lit the hall on fire with her voice. I have never seen her perform so well! And that's saying something! I loved this tour, it was so much better than i expected. She was epic! Can't wait to see it in full. :heart Need JAPONESQUE previews nao. |

So it was AKB48 who stole Kuu's record for best selling female artist DVD... I've been wondering who took the queen's record lol. :D Oh well, Kuu still has the best selling solo female artist DVD in her name so I'm not that pissed.
And yes, I can't stand AKB48 but won't go bash on them to their thread 'cause it's stupid. :) |

^ Purple really is Kuu's favorite colour. You can even notice that in almost every concert there's a purple outfit or a piece of it that's purple (: It really goes with her btw

Just take a look in the first post, her profile always said that her favourite colours are Purple and Green. ;)
And it's a shame about her DVD sales. She was such a staple seller for DVDs the past years, but with last year they started to go down a lot (always about 20k with the next DVD release). Didn't know what happened actually, cause Kuu and her concerts never changed much. Probably just a trend thing, cause her Anniversary Best Live DVD Box sold amazingly last year (260k). Just bad that it did count as a book, not a DVD. :laugh And it's maybe also a factor that both DVDs this year weren't tours, but special concerts. But FANTASIA and ETERNITY were both sold out, that's the most important thing. :) |

I do wonder if there is a lot of promotion lined up for JAPONESQUE, or if there was? (I don't suppose there is now she's pregnant). Because they've made JAPONESQUE it's own website for release, but I don't remember them doing that for her past albums.
I'm gutted Christmas Live was cancelled, that was an awesome setlist, I would have loved to see it. But it can't be helped if Kuu is ill, I just hope she feels better soon. :) |

I like Dejavu,not enough to buy, the witch part was boring (like wth was she doing,making baking soda and vinegar mix), cute was cute,ballad yellow dress amazing,and the dance break was blah,the blue hair piece part was done a million times before, I HATE BEMYBAY AND MEGUMI W/E now so I guess just like the album,it was same old same old,nothing was WOW! I love TokyoDome more just cuz of the stage and the crowd. can't wait for Japonesque already slays Dejavu single wise and that is all..... she is gonna be a cute mom/wife she is gonna get so fat though |

Yeah google translate wasn't much help at all, hahaha. All I got really was in:
BOOM BOOM BOYS Kuu and/or her boys are dressed in drag, No Man's Land the world is Black & White and the song is a low pitch (looking forward to that, seems like a deep song!). V.I.P has a longer interlude/ dance part, ESCALATE is quite an aggressiv dance song, something about chess moves? So Nice I couldn't get much from...Something about Kuu is in a Kimono, and there are four seasons? Something about Kimono design, I think the song as quite a melodic tune, it's compared to KO-SO-KO-SO/ Get It On. It says the theme in Slow. Feat Omarion is the world's destruction? Everyday is somewhat of a 'Sunny Girl' and 'Rainy Woman' theme? Perhaps both the happy and sad sides of a girl/women? Love Technique I think he/she compares to Run For Your Life & Hey Baby! (I'm gonna love that one) and Kuu is a love teacher. Brave I think he/she compares to 'Stay With Me', not sure if he/she's comparing that the songs sound similar or if the theme is similar, I think the theme is 'broken-hearted girl'. Perhaps a girl who's had her heart broken and must be brave about her love? And All For You I found the most interesting because he/she says the message/lyrics are for fans? So it might be a song for fans, from Kuu. It's sung with only her single voice and an acoustic guitar. To him/her there were tearful lyrics, and something about lots of camera shots throughout the song, one goes into her dressing room? That's all I got from Google, LOL. They should really try and make Google translate more coherent hahaha.
