Would you buy repackages of Ayu's albums?

Like Kpop so for example a repackage of Love Songs might look something like this
- New song
- Two remixes
- New artwork
- Photobook
- New PV for a fan favourite song from the original release (a PV for November or Like A Doll for example)
- New PV for the new song
- Poster

Two or three months after the release of the original album. Is that something you'd be interested in for Ayu's releases?

kinix 1st January 2012 07:18 AM

I hope she wun go that way too =.=... it's just crazy enough with the different covers. Depending on the new content, I might buy just the additional items

ohsixthirty 1st January 2012 08:47 AM

I hate myself for it, but I probably would.

pommy48 1st January 2012 08:50 AM

Only the OS press

HEAVEN~Destiny~ 1st January 2012 08:51 AM

For Love songs, YES. It's an amazing album.

PoetGirl 1st January 2012 10:36 AM

Honestly, yes. Just cause she's my fav artist, otherwise I dont do that.

toniayu 1st January 2012 10:40 AM

probably yes,but i'll hate that she do that.

ALfromHELLSING 1st January 2012 10:59 AM

Yeah, in Ayu's case since she's not releasin' that much material lately I wouldn't mind something like that.

murasakinohana 1st January 2012 01:03 PM

Don't tweet about this idea to her.. ;)

freedreamer 1st January 2012 01:43 PM

i dunno. i dun like the idea but shes Ayu and i would only do it for her :P
I even bought A BEST 2 and A COMPLETE so...lol

isthisLOL? 1st January 2012 02:19 PM

I HATE how they do that especially in the Korean and US markets so no. I would probably wait a few months before buying her albums at all to see if she puts out a repackage.

owlflight 1st January 2012 02:39 PM

I would just because the only album I have a physical copy of is FIVE.

This... v_v And I hate it, when artists do this.

AyumiAi 1st January 2012 10:45 PM

I would but I hate it when they do... just release a new album XP

ExodusUK 4th January 2012 10:59 PM

For example instead of FIVE, she repackaged the album to promote Progress and ToX, with at tracklisting like this..
1. Progress
2. Love Song
3. Crossroad
4. Moon
5. Sending Mail
6. Last Angel
7. Insomnia
8. Like A Doll
9. Aria
10. Blossom
11. Thank u
12. Beloved
13. Sweet Season
14. Overture
15. BRILLANTE
16. Do It Again
17. November
18. Virgin Road

Would you be happy to buy the re-package with three new songs and videos instead of just one new song three-four months after the initial release? Then she could follow up with a (horrible) single a month or two later with Why/ANother song. I'm doing market research for Avex Trax (my poll asking if Ayu fans would consider buying a blu-ray release of Ayu's PVs is proof ok?).

This, basically.

relmy 4th January 2012 11:18 PM

No. Well, technically it's a yeas - if she started doing this I'd just wait for the repackage and buy that. I wouldn't buy the normal one AND the repackage.

Then again, I bought all the versions of Love Songs so how is that any different lol It's just a repackage at the same time as the normal release

Kazeyomi 4th January 2012 11:36 PM

If it's an album I love to death, like Love songs.. I would :laugh totally.
I wonder why Avex didn't considered this repackage marketing idea yet lol. We all know how much Avex loves our wallets us :innocent.

setsuka 4th January 2012 11:49 PM

no,I am a huge Ayu fan but also very cheap, lmao

I don't like Kpop release,re-release,I never liked how they hold out the good songs just to release a mini with a title track and two good songs,if you are lucky and ofc the crappy remixs then a repackage with another two good songs instead of combining, maybe that is why in the height in my obsession with Kpop, I only bought 3-4 albums tops, you don't get quality albums with this system

letter 4th January 2012 11:59 PM

Not at this stage.

Gustavopc 5th January 2012 12:39 AM

If I had already bought the "original" album, probably not, just if the shoot was better and had really amazing new songs

YUKARI 5th January 2012 01:22 AM

depends on an album.

but probably not, not now.

At least in the US they wait a year or so, lol.

Kpop is like, the next day.

Kanzaki 5th January 2012 04:12 AM

No.

PinkShinigami 5th January 2012 04:40 AM

Well, I haven't bought any of her items for a long time because of money. But if I had money, then I think this would be as high on my list as any album; so if i would buy the new album if she released one now, then I would probably buy the repackage if she released one now instead of an album.

JackieRos 5th January 2012 04:42 AM

sorry but hell no

Aditmi Krisnasaki ~II~ 5th January 2012 08:53 AM

what? and wasting my money to buy something I've already had? NEVER.. :yes

truehappiness 5th January 2012 10:02 AM

It's a stupid tactic to try and get people to re-buy an album that they already own. It's best to wait until the 'repackage' comes out since usually it's a better release. I'm glad Japan doesn't really resort to doing this and instead releases complete albums the first time around.

I know this happens a lot in Taiwan and the original albums are basically like 'beta' releases and the repackages are more worth it since they have the entire album plus some new songs and PVs/MVs for many of the tracks.

elaniel 5th January 2012 10:39 AM

I would buy it again, but not be happy about it.
If maybe they re-released it at a slightly lower cost, that would be good.

An album should be re-released if there's a genuinely good reason to. It's not a good reason to hold back songs so you can re-release the album a few months later on purpose.

To be honest though, instead of re-releasing an album with 3-5 more tracks, why not just release it as a mini-album with maybe some tracks that didn't make the original album cut? Surely you'd get more sales from a new mini album than a re-release that a majority of people will not buy as they already own a copy of the album.

ayuPanda 5th January 2012 10:39 AM

For me,
mh...I think its just a korean thing lol...because Love Songs is a great album and a big one too...
Maybe I would buy a repackage album of five :/ if a song like BRILLANTE the new one xD

KarenPang 5th January 2012 05:27 PM

No way man , it's simply a sly way for record labels to try means & manners to boost sales of a single if not an album

I seldom see this happening in the jpop market but in the Taiwanese market , man it's quite common & seriously , getting your album repackaged a whooping 8 times , that's really hard for me to swallow

With that said , I suppose I will get repackaged editions of ayumi's albums if not for the fact that I have all her studio & best albums :O

If I don't have any of them , sure why not ? :shrug

ayunation 5th January 2012 09:59 PM

maybe like a fake album i saw anywhere...

with 1st CD the Complete Love Songs Album
and maybe the 2nd CD the FIVE Minialbum and Dream ON
i don't know if both DVD's+Dream ON (clip+making) can sat on 1 DVD?
and on the 2nd disc, i would prefer 1 or 2 new songs + Party Queen/Happening Here/How Beautiful You Are

and yes, i would buy an album like this xD

emi♡ 5th January 2012 11:50 PM

idk...if it came with a new album maybe :laugh

and the album was good, not something like Five.

but that wouldn't be like this I guess. So no.

sesshy 6th January 2012 01:13 AM

Never seen the point of repackages other than making more money off of it. So no.

spanishfan 6th January 2012 01:29 AM

I would not buy again an album wich have been released 3-6 month before...

But I'd love to have her first albums resung (and/or new arragments) with new cover and one or two new PVs for the songs without video.
In 10th anniversary I hoped she made more 10th anniversary songs for an album with her old stuff.

JustLovely 6th January 2012 03:08 AM

Yes. Money-sucking, it is, but yes, I would.

Jason 7th January 2012 05:42 PM

I don't think I would.

FIVE was re-released on CD+Blu Ray only a short while after it originally came out. It didn't have anything new in it so I didn't see it being worthwhile.

I'd only buy repackages if it contained a LOT of new stuff (alternative takes, demo tracks etc) because even if a repackage only had 1 or 2 new songs I would honestly just download them :/ I've spent enough money getting all her albums/DVD's as it is :P

yoshino 8th January 2012 08:37 AM

I dun like repackages like what Kpop releases are doing. If Ayu were to do that too, this just means for me that I'll have to wait even longer for the repackage edition to arrive as I would only want to buy one version of her release. It's too expensive for me to get different versions of the same album. :(

I love additional items such as a photobook along with the album but repackages of the same album just does not interest me. Buying compilation albums is more than enough!! haha.

SunshineSlayer 8th January 2012 12:19 PM

Absolutely not. It's just a marketing trick. Those things aren't actually "extra" they are just stuff that would be held back to simply cash in later on.

that was what i dreamt about too... >.<

Yumsushi 11th January 2012 03:32 AM

Only if there are songs that I couldn't have any other way, and I would totally hate Ayu for releasing it afterwards. I think repackaged albums are horrible marketing ploys.

himawariii6 21st August 2017 06:47 PM

Yes, I would.

Sandy 21st August 2017 07:29 PM

Would I buy it eventually? Probably :D

mi|kshake 21st August 2017 10:36 PM

I think I would although it would be a while after the original release and I wouldn't do it for every album.

EndOfTheWorld 22nd August 2017 12:16 AM

I would love it!
But it would only be worth it if the sound was improved, along with the photo quality. Maybe each rerelease comes in a slip case.
Every album being released in CD/Blu-ray format would be perfect.:heart
And of course the price. No $80 releases.

visionfactory 22nd August 2017 01:09 AM

I want to make it clear

Would you buy repackages of Ayu's albums? YES :luv2

Would you buy repackages of any other artist? NO! (Ok, maybe Ami Suzuki and OLIVIA, but that's not likely going to happen)

I think just at the level that I like Ayu I'd buy repackages of her albums
