Kids React to KPop

sorry, but i had to post this. XD featuring Girls' Generation, Super Junior, and 2NE1.

emi♡ 11th January 2012 03:37 PM

"What do you think about that?" "That's horrible."

and damn, pessimistic brunette *****es! :laugh

"The music video detail is really good."

TofuBunny 11th January 2012 07:30 PM

The "OMG I HATE MY GENERATION" kid made me laugh so hard :roflmao .. It's just pop music the world isn't ending :laugh

But comments on how "IT ISN'T IN ENGLISH" and "THEY ALL LOOK THE SAME" made me cringe though, I hope they grow out of that eventually.

Oh well it's nice to see people's reactions to Kpop (although I wish they used a song other than Bonamana to introduce boybands D: ), The Fine Bros is an awesome channel, I'm so glad they did this video :)

Yumsushi 11th January 2012 07:52 PM

^But Bonamana is an awesome song! Maybe they didnt need a soccer team to sing it but awesome nonetheless.

yeah, that kind of made me cringe too. XD atleast when they asked what language it was in, all of them didn't say "Chinese" or something.

My exact reaction lol including the cringe

The only thing they haven't know is it is how pop music never ends~ :laugh
One day they'll learn about the how the world really works :yes

letter 11th January 2012 09:41 PM

Their reactions were pretty predictable.

setsuka 11th January 2012 10:17 PM

surprising well some of them, I was their age when I got into Jpop so yah don't remember being that close-minded but I ain't American so w/e
the little girl is too cute, hopefully their attitudes to things not in their language changes since I foresee some of them becoming really snobby hipsters when they grow up

ohsixthirty 11th January 2012 10:22 PM

ugh, this seriously depressed me. i mean a few kids were open, but in general i think its sad how shut off we are to anything outside of what we are used to. all the comments about language and etc really suck. i mean, i know they are kids, but i don't think those opinions generally change as people grow older. childhood is where those ideas are set.

except the little girl in the red sweater, i loved her, hahhaha!

NintendoHTF1242 11th January 2012 11:35 PM

Some of the kids are obviously sheltered a little too hard by their parents.

But the little girl dancing to I Am The Best is so cute!

sesshy 11th January 2012 11:51 PM

I watch their show all the time. They also showed Miku Hatsume.. that Vocaloid. which is why they posted K-pop due to high demand after that video. The kids are actually smart and perhaps it's new to them. I remember when I got into J-pop, I was... whoa what the... but I'm in love with it now. *shrugs*

Kanzaki 12th January 2012 02:35 AM

Not surprised in the least by the mandatory "DEY BE COPYING LADY GAGAAA" comment.

AyuGAME 12th January 2012 02:49 AM

I hate when they said...
"oh they copying lady gaga"
OH GOD PLEASE!!! Lady gaga is not original...whatsoever...Duh...

sesshy - i want to see the episode with the vocaloid...can you show me the link, i open their youtube account, but can't find one

They won't :/

I think the funniest thing about this, is that I can see what kind of adults all of them are going to be :laugh Down to their looks omg.

I also find it funny how the youngest one is the most open~~

here you go. :D

JackieRos 12th January 2012 04:21 AM

AHAHAH I saw this on facebook.

This doesn't surprised me at all idk why people are surprised.
Even grown ups are like this, when people hear that I'm listening to any asian band they
say "oh do you understand it? are they chinese? why do like this stuff?"

Some people grow up being open minded and some people grow up being closed minded, you can't change that.
The stupid boy really got me on my nerves though.

PoetGirl 12th January 2012 04:46 AM

This is really funny actually. Especially comment 'they go on street and 'do you sing' 'yes' 'lets make a band' LOL

AyumiAi 12th January 2012 05:07 AM

funny how the little kid is spazzing about what is happening to his generation, a generation who is open enough to listen to music in other languages, and learn about different cultures, when he is the one who wants to remain in his americanized world...

elaniel 12th January 2012 10:27 AM

One of the girls says she doesn't like them because they are manufactures bands. Then starts talking later on about how amazing Selena Gomez is... Wasn't Selena Gomez pretty much molded by Disney? Yeah, hypocritical.

AyuGAME 12th January 2012 12:42 PM

panda♥ - thanks! more positive feedback than the Kpop

AyUta 12th January 2012 06:44 PM

the little girl in red and white is soooo cute. :laugh

No. She said that she does NOT like Selena Gomez!

William amused me to no end (and I kind of agree with him! :laugh).

This video was fun to watch, but don't take it too seriously guys. I think that everybody is entitled to their own opinion and can like what he/she wants to like! :yes

paperitahra 12th January 2012 08:23 PM

The little girl in the red is always my favorite. She always seems to like everything they show her. :D

This was so funny. But it's very American that they all said "Japan", when asked what country they were from. And the comments about how they all look the same...

I think some of the kids seemed to quite like it. I think their reactions were generally pretty positive. Perhaps some of them end up liking k-pop in the future...? ;)

letter 12th January 2012 10:19 PM

When I first discovered K-Pop and watched a Girls' Generation video, I also thought they all looked alike. It takes some time getting used to their facial features to start seeing the differences.

Ah, I think I was just too perplexed by some comments to pay all that much attention :)

Lady~Deviance 12th January 2012 11:17 PM

I watched the video days ago and being a parent myself, I didn't expect any less from their reactions. These are young children for goodness sake of course they're close minded to a lot of things. My kids, nieces, and nephews react the same way when they are initially exposed to something foreign to them. IT'S NATURAL. That's why as they get older they will learn to accept certain things and see things for what they are worth and bestow merit unto them. That's why parents, teachers, and guardians, etc. are there to teach children to accept what they don't understand. It takes time.

Besides I shared their same attitudes toward Asian music in general when I was younger. So don't be so hard on them. Some folks accept new phenomena faster than others. Some people grow out of their ignorance and others don't. It is, what it is.

SURREAL__RAINBOW 13th January 2012 01:13 PM

Some English speaking people are kinda brainwashed about having their language all over the place and not accepting that there are other cultures, languages and more out there :shrug

But yeah, they're cute XD Specially the little girl :love

femtrooper 21st January 2012 10:21 AM

I know they're kids, but it did bother me. Just because it wasn't in their language made it weird and abnormal...thus not good if you like it. It also showed how NOT diverse some of these kids were. Ugh, this video made me cringe and then laugh...it was an interesting experience.

I also found it strange that they thought the dancing was weird...yet hip/hop dancing like that is the same in North America...just look at Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, they all dance in groups like that...

Corvina 21st January 2012 11:24 AM

I do think the same like William sometimes, that my generation is weird, but why did he get so furious? He actually scares me. XD

All the other reactions are pretty much expected, I'm not suprised. Overall they were more positive than I thought they would be. :laugh

femtrooper 21st January 2012 07:28 PM

^It's true, I remember even in junior high try to show people Ayumi Hamasaki and it was somehow 'weird' because it wasn't in English. It was like, "Why on Earth would you want to listen to that? You can't even understand the words!" So irritating. Most of those people are probably still like that. I'm in my 20s and people still don't get why I like Japanese music.

happiholic★ 26th January 2012 08:32 PM

I like the kid with the afro, he seemed like a nice kid. The kid who was over-reacting scared me a little, like I don't "get" my generation much either, but that's because I don't really get the whole getting drunk every weekend and having casual sex at the age of fourteen, not the music videos on TV.

I kind of liked his point because I was born in the 80s so yay for him! haha, it was cool hearing someone from a few generations ahead of me that they wished they were from my time. :) I liked that. HOWEVER, I did not think the music they showed sounded like Rebecca Black or that it was an 'abomination'.

I was born in the 90s and I kinda love it. 1990 to be exact. I love the stuff my generation grew up on.

Oh agreed! I'm from '89! Growing up in the 90s was great! I find that it was an innocent time that kids today will never experience, but hey, everyone thinks their generation is the best...except that kid, haha.

Cornie 28th October 2012 06:17 PM

^^I was born in 1990 too!! Times changing so quickly

inthezone 28th October 2012 06:30 PM
