After School, The Story

Debuting initially as a 5-member group (Kahi, Jung-Ah, Soyoung, Jooyeon, Bekah)
with their debut single "AH" in January 2009, they were labeled as the Korean Pussycat Dolls
for the matured and sexy concept they had taken on.
In April 2009, After School released a digital single titled "DIVA" and introduced a new member "U-ie" into the group,
as part of After School’s admission and graduation concept. Later in October 2009,
member "Yoo So Young" announced her withdrawal from the group citing health and studies reasons.
At the end of the same month, After School admitted two new members "Raina" & "Nana" into the group
November 25th, 2009 they made a comeback with 2nd Single Album "Because of You"
March 25th, 2010 After School released 3rd Single Album "BANG!" together with the addition of new member "Lizzy"
making After School a 8-member group now.
A new member was added in late 2010, Lee Young.

After School will be making their first release in Japan. This will be a collaboration between them and Japanese legend Namie Amuro titled "Make It Happen".
A teaser for the PV was released on February 18, 2011. The PV features new member Lee Young, but see's rapper Bekah missing, due to her vacation occuring when the PV was recorded.

Their first full album was released on 27th april, titled "Virgin"

Bekah has decided to graduate from the group to fulfill her dream, being a designer.

The Japanese Version of BoY sounds a little on the soft side. I like it, but its not as fierce like the Korean Version is. I might have to listen to it again once a better version of it release.

I'm not convinced with this version
I think they changed the style of the song completely
the korean version was a powerful, sad, pop song that showcased the girl's abilites and presented them as these talented power houses who can rap and sing, the Japanese version tones all of these down, the production is so overdone that their voices don't shine through, even with the high notes and all, and the beat kicking in with the rap happens at the wrong moment for me that it takes away from the momentum the original song had when the first rap comes and is so aggressive and blows you away,
It's still a really good song, but it feels like something any group could do, It think it lost it's AS stamp, IMO

the quality isn't good, so i'm going to wait for a better rip.

Wow...Because Of You (Japanese Version) is horrendous. They literally butchered their own song. At least Rambling Girls is pretty much amazing.

^Hate to say it, but I agree about BOY, the Korean version is so powerful I feel them expressing being strong and in control, the Japanese version however makes them appear softer and more fragile, it's not to my taste but I do like the revamped melody and whatnot, btw loving Rambling Girls in HQ!!

well I freaking love the new Japanese version, and I wish they'd re-recorded the Korean version to this melody and added E-Young but whatever. I love the single, it's personally my favorite release of their Japanese singles, especially since I hated the Bang! B-Side and the Diva B-Side. 2 amazing songs = perfect single!

I actually think the single is pretty fine as a whole, same as ハート〜ブレーカ♥, I didn't enjoyed the previous b-sides that much xD

the single is at #7 on oricon today! still on top10, so i'm happy:heart

and you guys didn't like the b-sides on bang and diva singles? omg i LOVE them:laugh specially ready to love

I think those are just okay tracks, still listenable but not something I would listen regularly xD

yah I like them but as not as much as I did when they first debuted

they were really fierce,but after BOY they kinda went soft and after each member became more of a "mainstream" Kpop girl group

Btw, I was reading on their Avex website about the album and it says that both the CD+LIVE DVD+GOODS first press version and the CD+DVD first press version come with the slip case+trading cards. But at CDJapan it only says that the CD+DVD first press version comes with that slip case. Who are we supposed to believe here?

Was gonna cancel my preorder of the regular CD+DVD but then saw the dance version PVs are on there too, as well as Shanghai Romance's PV, and I just had to keep it. The covers are pretty nice too.

^^I want an OS press too. Probably there will be one because they did OS presses for her singles.
I'm not expecting the CD+DVD+GOODS OS PRESS, but maybe they'll do the CD+DVD.
