OMG! Yes! Thank you so much!
|
thanks for translation!!

Wow, what a different side of Ayu. This somehow makes me love the song even more.
Thanks for the translation. :D |
Thanks! Can't say I like these lyrics, though they fit the song.
|
love the lyrics. remind me of Koda Kumi
|
Thanks for the translation, but I can't say I'm a fan of "let's get drunk lolz" lyrics
|
I thought she said "I am the Party Queen" and not "your Party Queen"
anyway I like 'the' more, lol also love the lyrics, thanks for translating |

very different hahaha!! kinda refreshing though...im sure Timmy gave her the idea of a Party queen..since its definitely not something she might actually write
|
Thanks Misa-chan for the translation.
she's Our Party Queen! |

The world is spinning round and round, who are you again? I don’t even know who I am anymore It doesn’t matter if the world is up or down, left or right As long as we wish for it, we can go anywhere |
Wow, so unusual lyrics from Ayu.
Thanks for translating, Misa! |
Mhm...sadly the first lyrics of Ayu that I don't like!
Obviously you can't have any fun without alcohol, right?! :shakehead |

kinda unexpected lyrics i think, I like em!
|
I like this side of Ayu :D Didn't think I would ^^ Way to go girl <3
Midori-chan: Yes, it is sad some feel that way... Me, I don't drink at all and I am quite against it, but try not to take it too seriously, it's just a song. And we know Ayu likes her drinks ;) |
I like the lyrics xDD
|
Unexpected!! I love the line "I am your party queen" (cute)
and.. "The world is spinning round and round, who are you again? I don’t even know who I am anymore It doesn’t matter if the world is up or down, left or right As long as we wish for it, we can go anywhere" Which are actually kind of deep.. and very "ayu-ish" |
I love this song so much <3 Pure funny, playful and nice party song <3 ah~
|
I don't think it's ayu-ish at all! :laugh. Nice to see her having happier lyrics in her songs instead of the sad sounding ones. But still, I don't like it. It's almost like she's trying to convince me to tank myself with alcohol to have fun lol :shrug The song itself is okay though! ~

Totally unexpected, but I can relate. Not that I drink anything but the attitude in the lyrics makes me think that I might behave like this here:
"Tomorrow’s hangover and retrospection Just forget them now If that’s too difficult for you, I won’t drink with you again" Especially that last line. 8D Anyway, these lyrics are very nice change to her usual ones. I also got more curious about her next album. I really like to hear that already. ;__; |

It's so.. not Ayu? |
Don't really like the song but the lyrics are very refreshing! I didn't except something like this from her.
|
Thanks darling!~

finally a party song! Yay
|
lmao what an adorable drunk anthem <3
|
Wo, so different from what she's done before!
|
^ Yeah, those lyrics are rather different...interesting... I'm interested now as to what the rest of the album will be like!
|
Ayu has finally given me a drunk anthem.
Love it. |
I like the lyrics more than the song :laugh
I enjoy these lyrics occasionally because one can only get so tired from "i have one wing, you have another, let's fly together blah blah" :laugh |
this is horrible. I like the song but the lyrics are worst ever. Maybe the end of the world is really coming - Ayu having horrible lyrics :S
|
Geez, is Ayu not allowed to have fun? She drinks alcohol people, we all know this. I, for one, am glad she wrote a song about just letting loose and having fun with your friends.
|
Quote:
And I don't get what should be wrong by drinking alcohol. When you don't like it you don't have to drink. I for one don't convince people to drink alcohol and don't care if others do or not - as long as people aren't so drunk that they can't stand anymore (but if this happens once, there is also no drama for me). |
I can see why ppl would dislike these lyrics -- they seem so un-Ayu that it's like a slap in the face. BUT! She's had "vapid" fun lyrics before (Ladies Night, for instance) and this is just more obvious about partying and fun times. tbh I think it was really obvious what the song would be about when she said "kanpai!" and clinked glasses during the CDL performance lol.
I like it. I don't drink but I have a guilty pleasure for lulzy songs about drinkin in da club and having fun because it's all just mindless fun for me. |
These lyrics are not the only "made for fun" ones nor the firsts from Ayu lol.
I don't see anything wrong if she do something different than sad/deep/meaningful lyrics sometimes though. I loved the song now I love the lyrics :laugh yay for drunk anthem! And thanks Misa-chan for the translation :heart |
I looooooooove this song and I think the lyrics are fine! Party anthem!

Anyway, this is just a translation of what I heard from the CDL perf, so we'll have to wait for the official lyrics to come out to see the correct lyric. ;) |

My thoughts on drinking are like this: nothing wrong with alcohol, having drinks with friends and even parties are cool too. Sometimes, you may fall all over yourself and throw up, but that shouldn't be how it goes every time you drink. Everything within moderation. |
^ What's deep? That she writes some kind of poetry how it feels to be drunk and includes a great message: don't get too far, otherwise i will never drink with you again?
Or is it like a taboo to drink alcohol in Japan and she actually want to tell the Japanese people that there is nothing wrong with it? Uhm, yeah, I am not sure what's going on. The song could be meant to be 'fun' but yeah... She has always been singing about inner strengths and powers and now it's suddenly alcohol that influences your 'inner strength' just to have good time? I am confused. Sorry for my english. Not sure I used the grammar correctly. |
^Well, even a fun party song can be deep, or have insight. Like, for once, let your inhibitions go. Don't worry about what others think of you or your problems. For this moment you can be happy and let your soul feel. Many people say that alcohol can give your the courage to go things you wouldn't do sober, liquid courage. So perhaps by drinking you can finally show your true happy self that you are normally too shy to show because of a lack of courage.
|
Im sorry but that's not deep. Thats shallow in its best form.
|
Because it deals with alcohol its shallow? Alcohol doesn't automatically make something shallow. And even if it is, what's wrong with releasing something that isn't about deep emotions? Sometimes you just need to dance.
|
she doesnt write about alcoholism being problem in the country or families, she writes about it as a good thing. Thats just not shallow, thats stupid and Im sad.
|
It fits the song!
Though the CDL rip is kinda weird, the KANPAI!! always shocks me lol, but the refrain/chorus are great. I think the studio version will be so great. |
Wouldn't have expect this type of lyrics from ayu...interesting.
Thanks! |
Quote:
its like... saturday night itsumo yori sukoshi hayai KANPAI!!! :eek :cry :freak :dead2 i'm sure it'll sound nicer in the studio version. anyway, i love the song, the lyrics, everything. ayu doesn't always need to be so serious. :yes |
Wow, very different lyrics for Ayu!
EDIT: I understand why people might not like them. It's the opppsite of what she normally writes but I think it's kinda fun. If the lyrics had been all "You could be the DJ, I could be the dance floor, dance upon me" etc etc I might not be so keen myself! mi|kshake~ |
I think the Kanpai part is cute!^^
|
Somebody's a Ke$ha fan.

lol well that's really one of those songs i'm not gonna be listening....Lyrics are too popish andI can have fun without alchohol being involved lol nice try Ayu xD
|
im sensitive on that subject, I never had a drink and I would never use it, so Im hurt by Ayu's words 'oh u dont have to party with us if u cant handle it'
I mean c'mon, thats an insult lol. |

Honestly though, I'd be surprised if ayu has ever even heard of Kesha. |
I dont drink. I dont see why I should be against someone who is enjoying himself/herself.
but yea...Ayu, i dont think i can party with u then.. :/ lol that line is sung as though it feels like it is outcasting those who dont/cant drink though |

Ayu has a divorce, Ayu writes song about having fun.
I approve. |
i'm thinking about it as more of a celebration anthem than a drinking anthem.
|
Quote:
and srsly are you honestly hurt by that line? Ayu isn't Gretchen Wienersing you or anything by saying the party equivalent of, "YOU CAN'T SIT WITH US!" Why's it so hard for people to think that she's also speaking in a character of a girl who likes to go out and have fun? idk there's just so many other options to choose from, that just settling on bawwwing about not being ~invited to the party~ seems a bit overdramatic to me. |
What is the problem by drinking alcohol and having fun? I don't get it.
|

What's wrong with a song being "shallow"? If something being shallow stops you enjoying it... :S Sometimes you want a song that isn't deep, just to dance to, to exercise to, to sing to, anything!
Oh and partying with alcohol IS NOT alcoholism. Being someone myself who has had bad experiences with alcohol it makes me mad when people think partying is the same. Ayu isn't saying you need alcohol to have fun. To me, the "I won’t drink with you again" part sounds like she's saying... that you should have fun now, drink, forget your problems, but tomorrow, deal with them. If you can't face your problems, and just keep partying, then we can't party together. |
^ Well, the lyrics are quite unusual for Ayu. And if you compare it with songs from even her Song for Xx era, it's for an Ayu song 'shallow'
A good thing about these non-shallow lyric past. You can find in even songs like Party Queen 'hidden meanings', because that's how it often works in Ayu's lyrics. Basically she can sing about anything and we could link it easily to a beautiful meaning. |
I'm 100% cool with this song and the lyrics. They are fun, and Ayu needs to be having fun right now!
|
I'm all for having fun, I just don't like that part, but whatever. I like the song, I won't take it seriously. When Im listening to western songs with similar subject I take it as a joke, fun or nothing meant. I have to get used to the fact Ayu is joining the crew.
|
k I just take it like anything else, it is interpretation and there really is no correct answer to understanding lyrics, differernt people will understand songs differently. As far as Poetgirl's comment goes, like everyone else's it is perfectly valid. Just as much as we like a song because we relate to it, we can also dislike certain aspects of songs. Now some may interpret the song incorrectly, maybe Ayu does not mean what some believe she does.
Regardless, lyrics wise, I thiknk this is a song that is somewhat unexpected. There is nothing wrong with telling people to forget the problems for the time being, but the fact remains that one will still have to deal with them when the morning comes (you can take that metaphorical or literally lol). So yeah I think that if we all consider songs that encourage people to have fun as just being shallow, then maybe we all need to change our frame of reference. Seriously, stay with me for a second, why is it that many consider songs about fun as shallow? Is there anything wrong with having a good time (I am also acknowledging here that individuals can have a good time without alcohol or other mind altering substances)? In fact sometimes, people really do need to forget about their problems because I think many of us tend to dwell in our issues way too much. Regarding the poster who admitted that they had problems with alcohol, thanks I have seen individuals struggle with addiction (I do not know if you were addicted to alcohol). And the poster is right, having a few drinks at a party every once in a while does not constitute one as an alcoholic, when someone gets to the point though to where they have difficultly functioning in their day to day life then there is a huge chance that they may be seriously struggling. Ok sorry for the essay lol, because I really need to stop procrastinating and get back to my homework for my historical writing class lol. |
it's fun stuffs =) can't wait for the new single/album

The song is supercatchy and I love it, but the lyrics remind me more of a Ke$ha song than anything else.. :/

On the other hand, i would see this as a reflection on how she's trying to deal with a divorce; it must be pretty tough for her and this is her way to try to make this process a little less painful, from what i see. No reason to be upset, imo. Personally, i don't love neither hate these lyrics. I need to hear the song so i can give an opinion. :) |
These lyrics are too PG to be Ke$ha lyrics. She talks about much dirtier things in her songs.
|
Wow this is very different from her other lyrics haha! :)
I've never seen Ayu be so direct! She's usually very subtle about things. |

Can't wait to hear the studio version! Wasn't really feeling the live, but I'm sure that will change.

I didn't like it at first but it is growing on me.

I don't get that these lyrics are not "ayu-ish"... she've written 200+ songs with many different themes, change her style is ayu-ish. |
wooow, I love this lyric. something that very different. she should have done some songs like this in her earlier music career
|
LOL this is Timmys doing.
Very unexpected! Nice change for ayu... sort of. That one line does seem very direct and almost rude. But I think it is there to add attitude to the music, and add a kind of sassy/fun appeal. And not so much a put-down maybe, as she probably meant for it to be motivation (negative motivation, even) to just have fun for a night. |

I hardly see how she would make a Boom Boom Boys-esque PV out of this song. Boom Boom Boys as a song is edgy, rockish and OMG so awesome. While Party Queen is a bit more cute, bland and tunes from the ol' 90's...
|
Japan is the country of alcohol more or less. Everyone gets drunk from one drink and everyone drinks everyday.
Karaokeclub = drink your brain out. Resturant = drink your brain out. Alcohol is very very common in Japan and everyone does it, so I can totally see the nature of this song. They even have drunk salary men as warning signs in stuff; as you see them EVERYWHERE. And since everyone are so god damn shy(its expected of the girls that they're shy), they drink so they can show their true self. I love it, its hilarious. Japan loves to get drunk! At least in Tokyo! |
The missing parts~
世界はキラキラ光って都合の良い事とか 楽しい事だけこの視界に入るわ 世界はグルグル回ってアタシ達は繰り返す 何度痛い目にあっても負けたりしないわ |

Party-Ayu is not my favorite side of her, I can tell. But still, I'm interested to hear the album in its entirety.
|
Really never thought ayu would write a song like this...lol
|
What a fun and youthful lyrics (if that words exist for describing a feeling in lyric lol)!! It just a fun feeling like when I read Sparkle or Lady Dynamite lyrics. Thank you for sharing.
Well, guess we will have more and more Timmy influences in Ayu song afterward lol |
