Special 'Party Queen' photobook to be released

This essentially says that they will release a special commemorative photobook on March 21st, the same day as the album. This photobook will have photos from the album shoot that were cut from what is featured in the album. More details are to come.

The message is also on the main website as well.

To those who may be wondering what happened to this, it was released as SUPER AYU and bundled with a photobook of POWER OF MUSIC, it seems.

The cut photoshoot was rather beautiful imo. A bit expected and typical, but it would have gone over a lot better with fans and the public compared to what we ended up with.

There doesn't seem to be any pre-order link for it anywhere yet... wonder how expensive this one is going to be after the lovely unexpensive LifeStyle.

Yes, it's a separate book. I read somewhere that it might be 3,000yen, but that is not confirmed.

I'm starting to get angry with ayu marketing. Do they think are we all rich? I agree that this should be with the first press of Party Queen... Sometimes I wish that ayu was like Utada, she only release an edition of her albums and when her company released her last best album she was against that release...

Just hope that Ayu realize that she should only sell things at its real price :(

Well, you don't have to buy it all at once...

I think they probably want to release it in a large book format, hence the separate release. They could bundle it as well but seeing as how the announcement was separate, that seems unlikely.

I would hope Ayu is never like Utada.

Ayu's releases seem to follow a very obvious pattern, but she/her team sometimes falls behind so things end up getting released in bundles. Like whenever a new album or single comes out, there's a concert too. I think it's just easier this way even if it seems like a lot. For some of these things, you don't have to buy them immediately but I guess their thought process behind it is that if they are out at the same time, someone at the store will pick them both up for sake of convenience.

I know I don't have to buy it all, but I just think it's too much, the limited edition of the album cost a lot so I think that she could put that photobook in the pack for free.

I'm not hoping that she looks like Utada in a musical way, but just in a marketing not so wild

we never have to lack for new music, concerts, goods, etc... i couldn't handle being a fan of an artist who made me wait forever between releases.

You don't have to buy everything on the first day, you can buy most stuff a day or a year after release.

I'm a photobook kinda person, so I will most likely be buying it.

They probably have a reason for doing it like this. It probably is going to be a photobook much like SUPER AYU or FIVE+LOVE&HOPE and have much more substance than a free first press bonus photobook would have. (Also probably larger)

We don't really know, but since they are releasing it separately, it'll probably be larger than the GUILTY/on my way/off my day/Rock'n'Roll Circus photobooks.

Why didn't they include this photobook in one of the editions for Party Queen?

Precisely. Ayu constantly floods us with items to buy because hey, a girl's gotta make money, and I think it's a bit impractical to include all this stuff in one go. From a business stand point, it makes sense to separate these things to allow for greater revenue. From a practical standpoint, that crap's just wa~y too big to all fit in one package XD; Not even a shipping package, but just a release in general. It might not be some people's thing to have these photos, either. So the separate release allows those who really want it (as in, those who care enough, not saying that you HAVE to care) to pick it up.

It sucks in terms of cost for us overseas folks.. But things will never be fair :( In the end, when I get overwhelmed with things like this, I remind myself that western artists NEVER do these things for fans. The album releases are standard, the music videos are never released (because most of them are just stupid anyway... not worth buying), and there's really no point in buying the actual, physical copies of the album. I think sometimes, we can get a little spoiled by our Japanese musicians, and our expectations can be a bit daft.

I'm sorry that I'm beating a dead horse here XD; But yes, I'd rather have options of things to buy then be a fan of an artist whose releases are so few and far between, and then they decide to take a break O_o

I don't include Namie in this because that fantastic lady is always working lol even if she isn't releasing.

exactly. i'm so tired of all the people complaining that this photobook should be included with the CD release. if it is the size of on my way/off my day then i will agree, but this will 100% for sure be an actual BOOK. or they could have included it in the album, but then the cost would have gone up even higher and people would complain about that. either way, if you want the book you'd have to pay for it.

and besides, like i've said before, ayu and avex are both here to make money. they're not running a charity for fans who think things are too expensive. :no if they don't sell lots of products to us, they don't make money. :shrug

I have a feeling news about -everything- will all be updated at once. And there's a good chance it'll be very soon, considering there will have to be pre-order links for TA and such which usually come after other sites such as CDJapan and YesAsia.

Yeeep. Which means that the next wave of updates is going to probably be:

- Final tracklists for the album/DVD portion
- Final tracklists for the concerts with extras
- Covers for album and DVD/Blu-ray
- Exclusive goods for limited box announced
- Cover/pricing for the photobook
- More information about the POWER of MUSIC thing
- Cover/etc for LIFE STYLE BOOK

And I think that's it? I think this is an effective way of announcing things since there's a LOT to be excited about instead of Ayu's staff updating one thing every few weeks/days.

I have a feeling it's because not everything is finalized yet. (PVs still have to be edited, CDL is still being edited... etc.)

^^I will if I have to, but I think YA is always so overpriced. Also, YA states the release date as 2012.02.29 which we know is incorrect. I just don't get why CDJ or Amazon or HMV, etc, doesn't have it up.
