so after listening to UNLOCKED & finally getting my copy on Thurs , I realised that in the writing/composing credits for Flash Light , I saw this person's name that's credited in composing the song
-> Daisuke "D.I" Imai I was like ... is this the name of BENI's long time composer ? o_o I wasn't sure but after I checked the CD sleeves of all the BENI albums I have , yup , it's him D: No wonder I was having that BENI vibes when I heard Flash Light xD but I still think Kuroki should stick to her usual team of people that does best for her music such as U-key zone , Momo "mocha" n & JUNE :heart |

I was just watching DVD for Type B and damn they really did cut Wired Life >o<!!!! Hate them. and wow they also did that for Woman's Worth in a very odd way lol.. And those documentaries are just so useless..
The production for this concert was much better though, but they just ruined it on the DVD >o< |

Omg thanx for the scans Utena! Meisa looks oh so beautiful as usual :yes.
As for the album I haven't really had a chance to sit down & seriously listen to it :thud The only song that I could tell that I was totally in love with was Shake it Off. This could very change however. So far, Hit the Road sounds alright, but the first time I heard it I thought it was ghastly. It's slowly starting to grow on me. Btw does anyone know how she's performing on the charts? Or what the sales are so far? |

^ Yeah I agree...I'm having a feeling that this might be it. Either that or she's going to go on a hiatus until she is settled in with her child & Akanishi...that's going to take probably at least a year if not more. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted Meisa :weep.

She might take a break, but I don't think she'll stop at all. Wired Life was a hit. LOL! was a national hit. She broke into Oricon's top 5 with MAGAZINE and her label, gr8! records/Sony Music, is putting much efforts into her carrer.
With UNLOCKED, to me, she matured a lot as a singer. With her child, she might mature as a woman as well and I bet it'll reflect in the way she'll manage her image and songs as well. The media is constantly saying about Namie Amuro and her and all the similarity between the scandal so, with the media help and the fans, she will come back as a Phoenix. I don't think she'll come back as a singer, but as an actress and model. With time being and everything settle down, she might come back to her singing career, which is her dream and I bet she'll not give it up so easily. Also, consider the low sales with the lack of promotion (the TV and the posters among the streets worked very well during MAGAZINE era). To me, she did very good on Oricon if we consider it all. As a fan, I'll keep waiting for the best. |
even if the scandal didn't broke out , I already had a feeling UNLOCKED wouldn't be able to do as well as MAGAZINE
Compared to promo for MAGAZINE , UNLOCKED didn't had any if not 0 promo . Also the packaging for both CD+DVD's of the album was only normal , it didn't had that awesome X factor MAGAZINE had Somemore the singles included in UNLOCKED weren't really big major hits (Wired Life did well in line with the Ao no Exorcist anime tie in while Wired Life had that Kit Kat tie in CM just like LOL!) unlike what happened for LOL! which really drove MAGAZINE up to #6 as its peak position Well regardless of which , it reminds to be seen what will be Kuroki's next step but for now , I'm going to assume the worst in anyway possible Who knows maybe when she's back in full swing , she will come back with something great , music wise ? if not , I will still support her other works as well |
UNLOCKED could have gotten promo if those TV performances if they weren't cancelled ;_;

i dont even think her situation is the same as Namie, well at least Namie was at her peak. Meisa is obviously nowhere near namie's million sales. Even when Namie came back, it was soo hard to climb back to where she is right now. Though i wish Meisa would still continue doing what she likes but its going to be hard, honestly.

Honestly, unless she can release quality music like LOL!, Wired Life, and Shock all the time, I'm fine with her not releasing anything. Most of her album tracks seem to be pretty boring, imo.

"Hit the Road" - Verses caught me off guard. Thought it was an intro at first. Like the "Ahahahahaha" effect at the end of them. This song is a winner.

The washing machine? The dish washer? Is the AC on? Then it dies out with the song. Took me a few listens to realize it was the song, but it still catches me off guard at the end and I'm never prepared for it. Still a winner. "Happy To Be Me" - As long as you're happy gurl, because I don't need this. "Parade" - YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. This song is THAT song that some artists throw in there to get all weird and unique on you. I akin it to what "海路" was to ULTRA BLUE and what "Teiku 5" was to HEART STATION. "S.O.S-ワタシサガサナイデクダサイ-" - Mmmnh.......It's li-.....mmmnh.....*Speechless*.......fareweeeeeelllll .....goooobye.....so loooong....see ya later....you good? Okay. "Upgrade U!" - I can't remember what this song sounds like. I must skip it too much. But I don't even remember getting to it on my playlist to skip it. Now that's an impression. lulz. "曖昧で贅沢な欲望" - Nah. I don't need these cliche slow last songs on my album thank you. It's not you Meisa. Do you. And out of all of these songs. The only one that wasn't a new song for me was "Wired Life." Everything else I hadn't heard before. Well accept "Woman's Worth", but that was way back when all we had was that blurry unclear radio edit or something and I just listened to that one time and could hardly hear it and wasn't satisfied with the quality so I left it alone and forgot how it sounded. So yeah. I haven't seen any of the Music Videos either. Her stuff is hard to find. This Album is amazing and I doubt anything will top it for me in 2012. Ending thought after listening to this Album: Abort that Baby, Annul that Marriage and live yo' life in that Studio making me more Music like this guuurl please. |

So I finally listened to UNLOCK. Shake it Off is the most flawless thing I have heard in a while in the J-Pop scene. Take Me Away and Flash Light are really nice (but Flash Light sounds like something BENI would sing lol)
