TeamAyu LIMITED PREMIUM PREVIEW ~Party Queen~ information thread
The showings have started! So far there are just a few photos floating around and only one or two of them have happened but they have posters up as well as all of the PLAYBUTTONS and goods from the last year or so. (The Party Queen posters and PLAYBUTTON are visible!)
The event is being held at the avex HQ building, it seems. Also, since how beautiful you are and Party queen were already unveiled, they were not part of the preview. Sources for this information are 2ch, livedoorBBS, blogs, and some BBSes. Lyric snippet translations by tenshi no hane Spoiler:

We'll probably get descriptions from the later showings but recordings...? Doubtful. This person probably wasn't even supposed to have a camera!
So far they've had the first two showings at 10am and 12pm. There are three more to go! I imagine most people will be at the later showings as opposed to the morning ones so we won't get much information for a while. 10:00 / 10:30 ●Round 2 (Doors open / show start) 12:30 / 13:00 ●Round 3 (Doors open / show start) 15:00 / 15:30 ●Round 4 (Doors open / show start) 17:30 / 18:00 ●Round 5 (Doors open / show start) 20:00 / 20:30 People expect reports to pop up on mixi, but I don't have access to that site so... we might have to wait for someone who does to get early reactions. |

It's an event for TA members who won free tickets thru lottery to actually go to a place to listen to the songs and watch the PVs on March 10. Envvyyyy! But well, anticipation is still sweet. It's like... once in a year we get to wait for a studio album...

"Eyes, Smoke, Magic" sounds like a quite interesting song. papa and popcorn... diamonds and roses and best friends... She usually doesn't use this kind of imagery in her songs. REALLY EXCITED FOR THIS ONE.

There are some more rough descriptions out. NaNaNa - dance track, reminiscent of Ladies Night Shake It♥ - uptempo (タテ乗り?) rock sound, lyrics were a bit erotic. This listener liked half of the song and the other half... not so much. taskebab - COOL. Would be very nice to hear live. call - same sort of tempo and atmosphere as MOON Letter - same tempo as MOON, could be listened to live while shaking a penlight/glowstick reminds me - song is very heavy and powerful with a very cool melody with a positive message Return Road - the listener wasn't sure, but it seems like this song is about Mannie lyrically. There are organs, strings, piano, and a choir featured in this song. It has a very solid atmosphere. Tell me why - also same tempo as MOON with a very unique beat the next LOVE - jazz sounding, seemed a bit slow at first but there were fast parts that were very cute Eyes, Smoke, Magic - there's a clown laughing at the start? The entire song feels like a pastel colored atmosphere. People are guessing that Tell me why might be about Max Matsuura. But it could be Mannie too. |

Another person posted their thoughts. Most of it is the same as the other people who heard the songs.
NaNaNa - dance track with a lot of English like Ladies Night, flows well from Party queen Shake It♥ - erotic lyrics were surprising, very exciting with an intense rock sound taskebab - Cool track, can see Yocchan playing it call - medium ballad with a MOON/monochrome-esque atmosphere, self deprecating lyrics? Letter - medium ballad, may change when performed live with a very relaxed atmosphere reminds me - bears a resemblance to Duty. Dark, tough, serious and powerful rock tune. Return Road - This is a godly song. Lyrics have divorce as a theme. Reminiscent of Free&Easy and kiss o' kill with organs/strings/chorus/piano. Tell me why - Medium rock tune. Same atmosphere as Last angel, perhaps? Unique beat as well. the next LOVE - Becomes fast in the end, jazz taste with a feel of the autumn season Eyes, Smoke, Magic - Introduction has a clown laughing... very weird. Overall, a very light pop track. Ayu seems to have been thinking of the divorce for a while. I am loving how the album is pretty rockish. |

IIRC, the song was intended for her mother. The wedding stuff all came about in the PV and live performances.

I think that's one way to interpret it (so you could use it for weddings and such), but according to an interview, she said that the entire song was about the relationship between her and her mother. I don't believe she had met Mannie when she wrote the song so I don't think that's what she was talking about. November was the song she had written for Love songs that was dedicated to Mannie (or at least she hinted at it).

I don't think they changed their plans and someone did say that PVs were shown in their 'review', however no one's said anything about them at all.
People did ask about them but no one replied about whether they were shown or not on one BBS. Looks like we'll have to wait for more information. |

I'm very happy that a lot of people compare "Party Queen" to "Duty" and "Guilty". I really love these two albums, because they're so dark and all songs on these two albums have very awesome lyrics!
But if the new album really is like "Duty" and "Guilty", then I'm even more disappointed that Ayu chose this album title and these covers, because people who don't know the meaning behind the whole concept, might not see it (jeez, I know the meaning and still can't see it!!). BUT in the end the most important things for me are the songs, the lyrics and the PVs and if these things are great, then I can forgive the rest. I'm looking forward to the new album, even though I don't like "Party queen" and "How beautiful you are" (I love the PV though!!), but you don't have to like every song, right?! |
