Basically, no real difference from FIVE~ However the number -really- doesn't mean anything. For those who don't know, Oricon chooses 400 random subscribers from 4 age groups (100 per group of teens, 20s, 30s, and 40s) and has them rate the upcoming releases based on what they would purchase. Most people thought it maxed out at 400 points but apparently some popular acts get 500+ NINKIs.

Hope it does better than FIVE even though the odds are prolly against it.

It may do better than FIVE because people might be interested in her feelings about the divorce and word of mouth from how 'surprisingly good' a lot of the tracks are since the general public will probably have not heard a peep from the album, but who knows really?

I dont think it will do better than FIVE. It really diesnt have any too strong ties (FIVE had Tales of Xillia which was huge). And there hasnt been any singles before and any kind of TV lives. But I think ayu herself couldnt care less about it, and so do I

It has almost three times the amount of material though.

Tales is a good tie in but it certainly doesn't mean someone is going to sell loads more just because of it. Plenty of artists have had Tales of ????? tie ups in the past and their sales were pretty much the same. The only thing tie ins really do is help Ayu a bit. I don't think she's ever had one that impacted her sales to the point where it was noticeably higher than normal in recent memory.

I'd call the how beautiful you are tie-in to be pretty good. It's certainly her best drama tie in since whatever she had in 2002/2003.

I'm curious to see if Party Queen will be able to sell more than FIVE since FIVE was a mini album while Party Queen isn't

No matter , she's a shoo in to get #1 . The other competitors don't really have a chance against her haha although sometimes when comes to clashing of my fandoms , it's a love/hate thing xD

anyway , looking forward to see how well Party Queen fare & also good NINKI index for Acid Black Cherry , Shota Shimizu & BENI !

250,000 seems a bit high for this album. Maybe if it somehow has a really long chart life?

I think people should expect anywhere between 160k to 200k.

Ayu SHOULD be able to easily break into the top 10 yearly... however, breaking into the top 5/6 is probably going to be quite difficult. It seems that nowadays, a lot of artists struggle to get above the mid-200k mark.

I just hope she can pull 200k in the end! 250k'd be good but i try to not expect too much with this release!

Me too, but not by much. The album will probably break the top ten yearly as of right now as zero stated, and end up somewhere between 20 - 30 by the end of the year. If it doesn't it'll be worse than her regular pattern..

are digital sales ever counted at Oricon? as far as I'm concerned, Oricon takes into account only physical sales :)

^^That's what I thought, I think I was having a brain fart, thinking there was some sort of loop hole for iTunes.

(And if you think about it, there really should be!) :(

they say in the US & EU they are already planning to count and take into account digital sales but when I read it it wasn't made clear how to do and how it will influence the artist or his/her income

^^Shouldn't be that hard to calculate the sales ... and as far as income goes, I guess that should be up to the record companies.

#offtopic, but I'm surprised that BENI ranked higher than JAMOSA on the ninki. LOL

i thought that the US already counts digital sales...
itunes is huge here and i think thats were most of the sales come from now-a-days
