can the CDL be bought separately?
|
Really? O.0 is she doing that bad?
|
Too bad, so many big names release DVDs this week. :( (Kanjani8, aiko, DREAMS COME TRUE, AKB48 in a-nation 2011 <<<< WOW they got their own a-nation DVD hahaha)

Now that's something that I was (or even we were) not even aware about... |
maybe she release so much this time & fans dont have enough money to buy =]]
|
If a-nation sold more today then I would say again that it's probably due to the fact that it's released a day earlier and sales might pick up tomorrow due to not counting pre-orders and most fans might buy ayu's staff on the next days to come (or today which will show up tomorrow).
a-nation DVDs usually sell 7,000-10,000 in total. I doubt that ayu reached in seconds to such a bad point selling a tour dvd. |
I wonder if the cdl 2011-2012 songs are all from the 31/12, or if they use 30, 29 etc if the performances are better the other days... Does anyone know this?
I know they do it with Arena tour etc, but its different with CDL.. |
^ I have no clue but would also liek to know...
like does she do a countdown at every concert or just the one on the 31? |
She doesn't do the count down on the 28/29/30, its just like a normal concert. But the songs are the same. At least 90%. Instead of the countdown theres usually another song.
|
The setlist doesn't change at all, she just doesn't do the little speech or the countdown. We always get the countdown date's footage with DVDs, but sometimes people wonder if they sneak in some other dates' footage as well. They do it for a-nation sometimes.

holy crap =x

I guess I meant to say that the COUNTDOWN song doesn't change because usually that's planned to be in there for sure. It was odd that she removed that one song before RAINBOW this year since the setlist usually doesn't need to be modified if I remember the last few CDLs correctly. |
i was slightly disappointed as I only went to the 30th, and then saw the other days got more songs :(
im very curious about the CDL dvd. We were originally sitting on the floor at the very back, but after 2 songs some of the concert workers moved us to the A section without saying anything. Gave us the ticket for those seats and left... I'm guessing its because we were "gaijin" but still; i wanna see I can glimpse myself in the crowd if they use clips from other days :o |
im pretty sure she can change the set list if she wants to?
But it was kinda weird to do that... |
2nd Day
Position: #5 (Music), #6 (General) 3rd Day Position: #5 (Music), #6 (General) CDL still isn't in top 20. |
I think cdl will not count individually
|
How should CDL chart? It is officially not released, it's just an extra DVD on Party Queen.
|
Well, they could count the limited boxset edition copies I guess...
Let's see what happens on the weekly, if it's not there then yeah it's probably not counted at all. |
Wow. o.o Didn't expect PoM to be outside of Top 5. :/
|
even POM not doing well on chart..
WTF happened here.. i'm so sad and depressed! |
Surprised the PoM Tour hasn't been uploaded yet...it's only up at jpm but you need permission 22, and I don't have that yet...hm.
|
Oh wow, I expected more from DVD sales, at least.
|
Is this a freaky sign that the world will end soon? Isn't that like the only logical explanation of this? :(
|
^^I think it might be. I never would have thought.
I just don't GET why Avex doesn't see that this is because of lack of promotion! IT MAKES ME SO FRUSTRATED to think that she could be selling so much better if they just did more! TV performances, posters in Tokyo and Shibuya, those huuuuuuge digital billboards, etc. |
I just can't at some of the ignorance in the first page of this thread
|
4th Day
Position: #6 (Music), #13 (General) |
I'm thinking the CDL DVD/Blu ray shouldn't even really get a spot, since it's not released on its own, only with the Party Queen limited edition box set or the CD+2DVD version of the album...hm...
|
Does anyone know if the boxset sales of PoM count as DVD/Bluray sales. If they count only for Party Queen that could explain the low PoM position.
|
^^I think they ARE counted, actually.
|
so the sells are just from people buying the box set because its not sold separate is it?
|
^^POWER of MUSIC is sold separately, the CDL 2011-2012 is not.
|
5th Day
Position: #6 (Music), #9 (General) 6th Day Position: #6 (Music), #11 (General) |
this seems pretty constant... top 10... not bad.
|
I feel like her DVD concerts ALWAYS so really well though...so this is surprising and disappointing.
|
1st Week
Position: #6 (DVD), #19 (Blu-ray) Official Sales: 14,076 (DVD), 4,925 (Blu-ray) Total DVD + Blu-ray: 19,001 2nd Week 1st Day Position: #8 (Music), #12 (General) The CDL's sales are really not counted (so it's down to the album's boxset sales but we can't know then specifically). |
OMG! that's low...
usually her arena tour doing really good on the chart.. looks like the PQ box set...really make the sales kinda low... |
Quote:
|
I expected worse from the positions. Her DVDs haven't been selling all that well anyways lately. AT09 was the last really succesful one I think.
|
almost the same as A CLIP BOX in its first week.Weird, considering that this one was much cheaper...

i thought Rock n Roll and 50 singles did rather well...
|

|
not bad. i was expecting something like 2k for br and 10k for the dvds...
|

That's why I'm not that shocked about these sales lol. |
Namie's tours sell better? Hm, maybe since BEST FICTION but did they really sell that much better than Ayu before that? I remember downloading the Space of Hip-Pop Tour and it was so damn boring I never finished it. Ayu's tours are so theatrical, so much more powerful, and overall she has a better stage presence and connection with the audience, I believe.

Space of Hip-Pop 2005: 82k Live Style 2006: 80k Play Tour 2007: 128k Best Fiction tour 2008: 286k Past<Future tour 2009: 184k Live Style 2011: 150k Even when she was at her lowest, Namie always was regarded as a top performer... I prefer Ayu over her when it's about concert (and this is not even because of theatrics, I just think ayu has more presence and delivers more emotion), but as you can see, when it's about concerts, Namie's career was always pretty strong. |
I think also though the the DVD's are in correlation with how much the album sales...
like best fiction sold a ton, so naturally people who liked those songs would go out and buy the DVD for the tour which most of those songs where on... its the same with ayumi... when her album sales go done, her DVD sales will go down as well. |
Quote:
Namie was selling over 80k with albums selling less than 500k and top acts where selling over 1 million... Namie's DVD sales where always on a different level... |
I think that some of ayu's VHS sold 200,000+ though if I'm not wrong.
|

|
Yeah, definitely low, this is weird.
|
bad
|
5th Day
Position: #20 (Music) |
Quote:
|
2nd Week
Position: #25 Official Sales: 2,096 Total DVD + Blu-ray: 21,097 3rd Week 1st Day Position: #14 (Music) |
Low..Low..Low...
depressing!!! |
I think it's really low for an AMAZING concert...
|
no more sales?
|
Yes Miki I just updated the main thread's post ^_^
5th Week Position: #28 Official Sales: 588 Total DVD + Blu-ray: 24,580 (Reminding that official weekly sales from the 2nd week onward indicates the DVD sales since the Blu-ray charted only 1 week). |
Ahhh keep going PoM!
|
not so bad huh
|
i think the problem is
too much new ayu products availables at the same time |
I think that the people who usually buy her DVDs weren't as interested as it's not like the usual tour and it was more simple compared to others (more like CDL looking material to the general public who buy dvds anyway).
Overall it almost sold 25,000, not that bad. |
i hope this will chart longer...
|
Me too but it didn't chart for 2 weeks already =\
|
I guess this is the state of sales these days. I don't really care about sales but when the day comes when ayu can't clear at least 100k, I might be sad...
|
She already can't clear 100k for singles.
|
well.. a lot of fans must have bought the deluxe box set which includes the power of music dvd lol. does anyone have data on how much the deluxe box set sold?? that would give us a clearer idea of exactly how many people bought the power of music dvd
|
Nope, there are no individual boxset sales... They are usually counted towards oricon but since CDL 11~12 didn't chart I suppose they didn't count the boxset sales this time (maybe only for the DVDs) I doubt that the boxset was limited to 200- copies. CDL would at least chart 1 week within the top 30 if they would count the boxset's sales.

AYu's total sales are dreadful right now though, both for this and the album. hope she'll release a summer single that can go on an upcoming album. |
Quote:
And she is regarded as a top performer, having tours with a lot of dates on big venues and stuff... Actually, among female soloists, there's a change she is only behind Namie^^ |
^Please don't attack me for this or think I'm trying to start a fan war or anything but I think Koda Kumi maybe considered the top solo female performer since she was given the name of Queen of Live so I think Ayu would be behind her, I could be wrong though. However I think you're right with Ayu being one of the top solo female performers.
|
^Well... This also isn't meant to be a fan war or anything, so I hope Koda fans don't get offended by my opinion:
This stuff as "queen of this" and "queen of that" are both stuff invented by media or marketing teams, and it's like this anywhere in the world. Koda really had a whole different level of appeal regarding concerts from the moment she peaked to her 10th anniversary, mostly showed on her DVD sales. Still, I believe both Ayu and Namie frequently had longer tours than hers, and they are both touring larger venues for more years too, what IMO shows a larger public demand to watch them live. Namie also oversell Koda's tour DVDs for some years now... Still, Koda is also regarded as a top performer in Japan^^ |
^You do prove a very good point! I think all three women really do have amazing shows.
