o.m.f.g. ever since I switched to only allowing iTunes Plus into my music, I haven't listened to Chihiro in so long because nobody uploads her music in iTunes Plus </3 I've missed her so much! Wow at the video, I missed her voice.

chihiro's new song "Bobby gave Candy to Nancy" start from 5.34. The lyrics is full in English and talking about some sort of soap opera drama-ish storyline. The whole thing sounds pretty hilarious for me, and it's amusing as well

That's definitely her singing in the video. I don't know Japanese, but from what I can tell it's a new single named "This Silence is Mine / SciencE with You" due December 18th. From a really bad google translate it also appears she's collaborating with a band called BILLYS SANDWITCHES? Maybe someone who speaks Japanese can confirm.

The new song sounds so pretty, but I really, really wish she would stop singing in English ><.

Itazura Pierrot includes a cover of JEWEL "Who Will Save Your Soul"; and yes, her voice is like a drunk, but i think that's because the "accident" with that man... i don't really know.

But that Accident was befor Aoi Tori. And her voice there was fine.

Her old music and image will always have a place in my heart.

I definitely miss everything from DOROTHY and before. That Chihiro is no longer here. But if she wants to keep experimenting like this; it's fine. It's just not in my interest. I wish her well.

^She's been involved in some shady situations. I don't remember specifics but drugs were involved. I think she's also spoken about a mental disorder or something.

Personally I've only ever loved her first three albums. I do love everyhome though.

But the assault was before "Aoi tori"... and her voice there was still the same. So.. I don't think, it has to do with it.

I'm sure she's also been involved with substances that decreased the quality of her vocals.

I couldn't understand a thing of course lol But at some moments I felt a tension between Chihiro and the other guy. I attribute this to what prussian said, she is acting weird, maybe the guy didn't kbnow how to react to Chihiro's crazy stuff lol

I just listened to This Silence Is Mine for the first time and I was shocked by it in two parts. Firstly, the melody is beautiful and thematic. Surely one of her best compositions in many years. Secondly, it's impossible to not hear how raw her voice sounds. She has gone from having a really full sounding voice to having a ravaged voice you could only liken to either Marianne Faithful (post-Broken English) or Stevie Nicks.

the hell is this girl doing. Her voice sounds very...raw, I agree. I didn't know about the accident. Miss the old chihiro.

I really want her to do well...anyway that something was off with her it's always been clear, maybe with time and that trauma it got worse. But if I reread the lyrics of infection or BORDERLINE i get this "ah I should have known better at the time that she would eventually have ended up like this"

^You can use iTunes even if you don't have an ipod (which I have only recently discovered and there's quite a good selection of Jpop on iTunes!)

New song 祈りが言葉に変わる頃 (Inori ga Kotoba ni Kawaru Koro, something like When prayers turn into words in English I think?) was released digitally today. Download available here, among probably many other places. It's apparently a theme song for some horror movie, and sure sounds like one! Chihiro's voice sounds fairly heavily edited, therefore more stable than in her other recent songs. The song doesn't really go places, but I like the creepy vibe and the sound. Not as strong as This Silence Is Mine was, but miles above Itazura Pierrot and Anata to SciencE.

The album is out! I'm playing through it for the second time and really liking what I'm hearing: I can't really call any of the tracks bad, and some surprised me positively (Dreamer Sonic, Your Quiet Fantasia, PSYCHO LADY'S RAIN come to mind). Anyone else? :)

I remember browsing this thread before and people were dragging Onitsuka because of something or other, but these songs man… Wow.

^Agreeing so hard about wow these songs! Like, things about Chihiro's voice, visuals, music style etc. during recent years may have been questionable, but I think there's no taking away the fact that she's still as much a beast of a songwriter as ever.

I'm really addicted to this album rn. Everything from Lady Time Machine to Inori ga is awesome, and the rest is not too far behind. TRICKY SISTERS is quickly climbing towards the top spot on my favourite albums of 2014 list!
