Jpop electronica

I was looking for my jpop artists to listen to that have an electronica sound. I've been a huge fan of perfume lately so I was looking for some music that was similar to theirs. I know capsule, immi, Sawa, and Mai kudou.
Does anyone know anymore artists with an electronica sound? o.o

happiholic★ 28th March 2012 04:26 AM

capsule, mini, MEG, Mizca, Aira Mitsuki and Ayaka Ikio come to mind.

prussian blue 28th March 2012 04:40 AM

Ami Suzuki when she was collaborating with Nakata Yasutaka and also MEG.

Not sure if m-flo counted as electronic, but their stuff is really cool too

emi♡ 28th March 2012 06:28 AM

check out Mizca, LAMA, Miki Furukawa, Miu Sakamoto, MADEMOISELLE YULIA, MAI, √thumm, and supercar.

A lot of people like Aira Mitsuki. If you like slow, dreamy dreamy music, try audio safari! :heart

If you check out m-flo, their newest album has the most electronic influence so far~~

+1 for SAWA :heart

Also, some purely instrumental people: matryoshka, calla soiled, and no.9.

:D

Andrenekoi 28th March 2012 08:09 AM

Ai Otsuka's side project Love^^

Audio Safari seems interesting! I'll check them out :D

emi♡ 28th March 2012 09:18 AM

:D They only have one album, but it's one of my favorite albums of all time. It's a little sad sometimes...but it's gorgeous.

terra 28th March 2012 10:42 AM

^Just downloaded them!
OMG it's so beautiful <3 I really love this kind of music, ethereal and dreamy :heart
Thanks for the info emi :luv2

emi♡ 28th March 2012 11:17 AM

yeeyyy!!! sure! :D I LOVE finding new people who like music like I do!! :spazzed

If you like them, also try out piana! Her everything is gorgeous!

terra 28th March 2012 01:25 PM

jewelbox 28th March 2012 03:13 PM

Great thread, thanks to emi♡ I fell in love with Audio Safari too! Beautiful music

ShiroMai 28th March 2012 03:59 PM

How come no one said a word about globe's and m.o.v.e's works? They're probably the best veterans out there.
Not all of their music is electronica, but they have many electro albums.

happiholic★ 28th March 2012 04:12 PM

I also really like Caramel Pod. Their stuff is usually on House Nation albums, so that's why I stared downloading them.

Zeke. 28th March 2012 04:52 PM

m.o.v.e's SYNERGY album and also GRID. And m.o.v.e 10th Anniversary MEGA BEST - Disk II has this killer remix of FLY ME SO HIGH that you must hear! That's all you need.

As mentioned, Aira Mitsuki is pretty good and catchy. I also love some of Mizca's stuff.

Mizca

Aira Mitsuki

Thank you! ^_^ I really like audio safari.
Thank you for the suggestions everyone! Mizca is cute. lol

terra 29th March 2012 06:00 AM

emi♡!
I googled Piana and come to this video

OMG OMG it's so beautiful, exactly how I picture an ethereal song in PV :heart :luv2
I'm gonna try the other you told me :D

~Amy~ 29th March 2012 09:10 PM

Piana is wonderful! I love her music. ^_^
I really like murr*murr too so far. I keep listening to the song Echo over and over. lol
I've listened to some of m-flo's new album but, I haven't listened to the whole thing yet.
I love Ami Suzuki too. I've already been listening to her music.
Aira Mitsuki is okay but I am not a huge fan I think like Mizca more. lol ^_^''

Zeke. 31st March 2012 04:25 PM

Aira Mitsuki is hit or miss - I have a few other songs I love by her. Mizca's good songs are better but the thing that sucks is that Dame yo and Kira Kira are the only good songs on her debut album lol. And maybe the closing track (only the chorus though). Her singles after that though have been decent.

wildconnetta 31st March 2012 09:39 PM

Seconding Mizca (UFUFU era), Aira Mitsuki, Piana, Audio Safari, Ruppina (MAI), MADEMOISELLE YULIA and SAWA.

My recommended: moskitoo, Cokiyu and SAWAKO.
If you like Aphex Twin, try +/- by Ryoji Ikeda.

I second globe. I only got into them 2 years ago or so, but they have alot of great tracks, i love genesis of next

For electro J-Pop I can recommend

- MAA
- Kyary Pamyu Pamyu
- arisa
- sifow
- Akina Nakamori (but only her album "DIVA" has electro influences)

and of course Mizca, but she has been mentioned before.

KuroixShiroi_Namida 8th April 2012 12:12 PM

How about Genki Rockets? Don't know if it counts but i love them haha

terra 8th April 2012 07:40 PM

I forgot about Genki Rockets as well, they're great indeed!

emi♡ 8th April 2012 09:20 PM

definitely +1 for genki rockets and m.o.v.e!

MAA is really great! Love her! Since channy (I love you for this! :heart xD) introduced me to her, I never deleted her from my mp3 player. I'm addicted!

EDIT: You already know of perfume.
However, may I suggest the album "Yellow Magic Orchestra" by the Yellow Magic Orchestra.
It apparently is a pioneer of electronica in Jpop.

chocopockymaster 13th April 2012 08:54 PM

Spangle call Lilli line is absolutely BRILLIANT. I would definitely classify them as electronica, but not in the same way as Nakata Yasutaka's acts or anything. Their stuff is a bit 'quieter', lol. Anyway, they have a substantial discography, but their album PURPLE is a masterpiece.
