[question] Duty Out of print?
 

Hi to everybody!

I just wanna know this. I was thinking to buy Ayu's old disc. I was searching in cdjapan, play-asia and they put - out of print-. Yesasia didn't even place it in the list. Anyone know what happened with Duty album?

Yeah, that's crazy that no shops have it in stock...get amazon.jp's last copy, maybe? :)

I managed to find my copy of Duty on Amazon USA last month. I think if you check places like Amazon or EBay, you are more likely to get it there than places like CDJapan or Yesasia.

I got my copy of Duty on Amazon US as well, but it was the Korean version. If you don't mind a non-Japanese edition, you can purchase it here from the same seller I got mine from. :P

Crazy! I bought mine from someone here on AHS years ago. So glad I did. :) But yes, try Ebay or Amazon.

Thank you so much to everyone. I was trying to understand why they made Duty out of print. I think is a great album (musically and the art concept).

But anyway I'll try in a different site to buy this CD.

out of print doesn't necessary means the album was a limited edition . it just means that the online CD shops have a fixed number of copies to be sold & after the target mark has been fit , it will be listed as so

but yes as what other people have said , you have many options in getting Duty from the various sites they've listed & given to you

Amazon Japan is a good place to get 2nd hand copies of Duty at literally 1 Yen + 340 Yen domestic shipping within Japan . Alternatively if you don't mind OS presses , there's always that to fall back on

Moreover, I think it sold like crazy at that time, like 1 or 2 million sold copies. So, it's almost normal that it's out of print now. :)

I know they always have her discography at tours and most of the time, non-limited editions are always available so maybe they just need to print more?

You're right. I hope they restock, in that case I just have to wait. Anyway I found the OS press (AVTCD95387) in hmv.hk (just in case hahaha)

I don't think there will be restock as mu-mo is listing Duty as Out of print too.

Umm.. That's kinda weird, her 3 million seller is out of print? Too bad, I wanted to buy the japanese version in some point. Guess I have to be happy with the OS version.

I got my copy of Duty at Book Off NYC three years ago. I never thought it could be out of print... I recommend this eBay seller. He usually has many singles and albums and he updates with new items every 5-6 days. I've bought from him plenty of times and it's not too expensvie and 100% realiable.

A BEST 2 -WHITE-, RAINBOW, Memorial address, I am..., A BEST, and a few other CDs are also "SOLD OUT" on mu-mo. I think they just need to print more copies. Since they're back catalog items, I don't think they're going to be up that quickly.

It's kinda weird that ASfXX and LOVEppears are still in print on sites like CDJapan and Duty isn't....
I wanted to buy Duty really bad too now...

I had no idea Duty was so scarce! I must've gotten lucky then, I found mine at BOOK OFF. I wasn't even necessarily looking for it I just happened to come across it by chance so I'm really glad I grabbed it when I could.

The best deals you will ever find will be on sites like eBay or Yahoo Auctions.
I saw it on a french reseller shop (online) and it was listed at more than €50 ! O.O

I got my copy of Duty off of eBay for pretty cheap :3

You know we could tweet Ayu about this, as these were back catalog albums, normally the reprints is once in a while, as consumers we should let them know, or the management would never know the demand and will take a slower time to reprint.

I hope they reprint it soon.
Why ASfXX is STILL available and Duty isn't is just baffling.

YesAsia doesn't place out-of-stock items as default, you can press "Include Out of Stock items in results" just over the Sort menu :)

But yeah, I didn't realize that it was out of print either :o However, I don't think it can be that hard to find second-hand and in good condition :) Also, there is no first press bonus, so a "normal" and good edition of the CD should be very possible to find :)

I actually just realized that you can buy it on a Danish site, but for quite an overprice (about 60 dollars), and I'm not sure what the actual product really is.. It's a very trustworthy site, but it lacks of information of Duty; or well, not lacks, but the information is very odd. The cat. no. is PID803603, and the release date is 2008-09-16.. so I don't know what they are trying to sell :D The label is even "PID", whatever that is... ;p
