Ayu, the gay diva xDDD
awww that's so lovely :)
LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLL
Oh no...:thud
This must be a joke...... :laugh |
^Why? What's wrong on having her song as the theme for the Gay Pride Parade?
ok i dont know what is this event about xDD
Amazing flying squirrel covered in rainbows.
@AyuWorld
Pride parades for the LGBT community (also known as gay pride parades, pride events and pride festivals) are events celebrating lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) culture. The events also at times serve as demonstrations for legal rights such as same-sex marriage. Most pride events occur annually and many take place around June to commemorate the Stonewall riots, a pivotal moment in the modern LGBT rights movement. from: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gay_pride_parade |

Part of the message of how beautiful you are was to encourage anyone regardless of their sexuality/appearance/weight/height/disabilities/whatever and tell them that they are beautiful. The PV reinforces that with a theme of universal love between all types of people (men with men, women with women, people who are into S&M, people who have prosthetic legs, etc.) From Misa-chan's blog: Quote:

Not a fan of the song but it does fit well. Though I would prefer a more "fun" song like NaNaNa or Shake it<3
mi|kshake~ |
Is that supposed to be a flying squirrel...?
I think it's nice and that logo is awesome! XD

So I think the term "gay pride" is meant to say that gay people have just as much value as other people and should feel good about themselves regardless of what others have to say about their sexuality. The parades may not always focus on gay rights, but they do focus on letting people feel happy about themselves and enjoy life, knowing that there's nothing wrong with them and they should go out and feel like valuable human beings instead of staying in the closet. (Or at least that's how I see it...) |
awww this is awesome! I love it!
Doesn't surprise me. I get choked up watching the PV. Especially during the scene with everyone walking through the wind. They walk on even through hardships. And Ayu follows them signifying she is helping with them in their struggle.
I think its the perfect theme. |
Whats wrong with that Squirrel. Japan is the land of animation, not cartoon abomination lol
Queen of the gays, to be honest.
^And I see no problem in that!
This is lovely.. The song is rly special n i'm glad its got chosen for the parade theme song.. At least it'll hv a little promotion for the song
That logo is so cute. The flying squirrel....
Yay, for Ayu being so supportive of equal rights and love for all. It's a perfect song for this event in my opinion. :love |

Will this take part on the streets?..BLAST NANANA AND SHAKE IT OUT LOUD hahahha
and hbya is really a song for everyone :) |
squirrels don't have big thick tails like that, I think is a groundhog or otter.
could be a flying squirrel too I guess but what do squirrels have to do with pride lmao The song fits very perfectly and if they do a float of ayu it'll be awesome to see. Quote:
you have no right to say what people can or can't have pride in. |
^^Haha that would be pretty awesome!
A perfect song for this event!
^There couldn't be a better choice! Haha now I want to go watch the PV! :heart
that logo is hideous lol.
but wow, amazing. now all gay men in Japan shall buy a copy of Party queen and Ayu will overthrow AKB48 as #1 selling artiste of 2012 |
You are not counting all the gay men that already bought it :P
^^Like me!! hahaha
^srsly. there's more gay ayu fans than all females and straight males combined.
really. we had a poll :laugh Anyways, yey for this~~ so much. It's so perfect, and anyone who doesn't like it...um...just do yourself a favor, and keep your opinions to yourself lol |
Sorry Ayu, only the gays will love you.
^At this point, being loved only by the gays means losing what? 5 fans? Hahaha xD

If you're not accepting of all kinds of love, you have no business being an ayu fan. Seriously, what do you think this woman stands for? Lol.
YAY ^o^
Ayu sweats sparkles and is made of glitter and rainbows So its perfect! |
Quote:
Oh I absolutely love this idea! <3 HBYA is perfect song for this~ And like ayu, I support all kinds of love. No matter who u love, it's the most important that you love~ and being a gay or lesbian or straight, it doesn't matter at all. I have two lesbian couples in my class as well. Go ayu, go love of all kinds! ^__^/
^^Exactly. Love is love is love and I commend ayu SO much for doing this. I love her :heart
Seriously, if you're homophobic or against the gays, you don't deserve ayu, or any JPop diva for that matter :rolleyes
The logo is hilarious! And yay for the song they picked, the pv fits pretty well I guess? |
^I think it definitely fits. Is homophobia a big issue in Japan like it is in certain parts of the US? Can't say I know too much about the subject.
^And I think the fact that a *Japanese* person is standing up for gay rights makes it all the more revolutionary and important!!! Thats why the HBYA video is so touching. Any artist doing a video like that is touching, but the fact that a Japanese person is stepping out and doing it is even more meaningful
**I will say though that I have been talking to fellow gay japanese friends about this since I have been here and they say its getting better and better! |
Based on what I read, being gay is just seen as overall immoral over there, or something u must grow off, so, most gay people just hide themselves and let their gay sides to take over only on the lgbt guetos...
Things are so complicated not every year has a Gay Pride Parade there, and when it does have, a lot of people goes there in disguise of fear of being regonized. |
Quote:
Still, same old, this homophobia subject needs to stop, everywhere, I'm sick of it, people need to get over themselves. So happy for this event :) |
^Yup! Like there is no major bullying problems or outward homophobia, its just everything is closeted, even between close friends.

the lyric is very suitable for the theme but I prefer something more upbeat for a theme song like such this parade

I think this event say how famous Ayu is in Japan |
I feel like this is such a big deal, like such a big step in the right direction for some reason. I love it.
Are all the male members here gay? I am, but I'd be pleasantly surprised to see a heterosexual male fan.
^^Not all, but probably majority of the one who post frequently. haha
you got a problem wit that?! |
Quote:
But the gay pride icon is a bit childish. |
^^It is a little kiddy-like. I wonder if that's what they were going for. lol :shrug
Lol I think I may go to this! It is tomorrow I think
It looks like every other Japanese logo to me :laugh Aren't most of them childish anyway? xD
I remember watching videos of trannies dressing up like ayu and cosplaying her at this gay parade in Japan? I'm assuming it is the same thing as this :P |
This couldn't be more perfect. I think my love for Ayu just grew. :heart
^^ and how is that?

Guys I am actually straight. Like totally straight. I mean, you can't just make assumptions. Just because I am standing next to Lady Gaga, shirtless in a leather jacket, and I have makeup on, doesn't make me gay.
Spoiler:
^^Yeah, please, I've met you in person. LOL you couldn't fool and blind and deaf person
hehehe
Spoiler:

^I could name them for you if you like :laugh
that's so cool!!! I'd definitely go if I were in Tokyo now (though I'm not lesbian or bisexual). I want to see photos and videos! Hope they'll be available :D
Yeah, I'm definitely pretty excited for this!
Im considering going tomorrow if I do I will take plenty of photos and videos!!
^ yaay! I can imagine how amazing it will be when the crowd starts singing HBYA :love
Quote:
I hope you have fun if you end up going :lech Though I'm sure you will, it looks great |
I am wondering if ayu will attend the pride and will perform anything.
So... ayu will perform there or they will just have trans performers singing it with the crowd? :)
They will play her video on the closing of the event and invited people to sing along to the song during it, and that's it...^^ Maybe there will be an Ayu floating too (but who care's? There will be a Nyan Cat floating xD Nyan Cat > Ayu)

And I LOVE the logo! xD |

It isn't just a bedroom thing, but yeah I agree with you, it should be just a bedroom thing but people decide to pick on us because they feel like it. Anyway, I've always known ayu as a gay icon, even before all the gay themes in her pvs, I've been told this years ago and I guess is one of the reasons why I became a fan perhaps? :P I wish I could attend this. |

Quote:
You see dem glamorous nails? A gay did 'em. You see dat outfit? A gay picked it out. Without those gays, Ayu would be wearing a trash bag on the corner of Shibuya looking for a stray cat to pet. Forever alone D: |
That squirrel looks rabid.
Quote:
Sadly we live in world where this is not accomplish-able yet. So as long people are not willing to accept we'll parade for our rights. I hope for some video footage :D |
I didn't know that AHS is gay forum.. I'm so sorry... :rolleyes
LOL |
People are taking the "theres no pride in being gay" thing too hard in their asses (literally). I'm sure the person who wrote it actually meant that there's as much pride in being gay as being straight. You don't hear straight people go all "PRIDE FOR STRAIGHT PEOPLE YO". :P
edit: ^ It isn't a gay forum. :S |
Quote:
What a nice coincidence, I've always thought how beautiful you are would be a nice theme for gay pride parades/movements/whatever because that theme of the song is so sweet. :) I'm not a gay myself, and I have nothing against them. They're people like everyone else and it's good that they're proud of what they are. :)
AYU's great!!
Quote:
I think all superstars are gay icons. Madonna & Gaga - definately. so, don't see much buzz why Ayu shouldn't be doing it :) Quote:
no it's just a forum full of different people :D |

as for pride in being gay...well, when you're a minority and there are so many people out there who hate you, you have to take pride in yourself because no one else is going to do it for you. if we don't take pride in ourselves, people will never overcome their ignorance and we will never have the same rights as everyone else. i think some people don't understand because they've never had to live their life as an outcast, knowing they're different from those around them, or knowing that despite being in a committed relationship, in the eyes of the law you are complete strangers. its terrifying to think that because of people's stupidity, if something terrible happened to my partner, i wouldn't even be notified, nor would i even have rights to visit him in the hospital. :( anyway, as for Ayu, i'm really happy her song is being used. it fits perfectly! i'm so proud of her, and to be her fan. :yes |
Homophobia is everywhere, they act like is a disease.

thats nice that Ayumi is doing this...
I knew she was becoming the lady gaga of Asia. Just didn't know how long it would take her. Asia and the way they treat their sexuality is just so... off to me, lol. It's like accepted, but at the same time, its not. And I dont think it has anything to do with 'dont ask, dont tell. It more like, you are a kid... go try and experiment! BUT! dont enjoy it too much because at some point you have to start a 'real' family. As for pride parades, I think at this point that have evolved beyond being gay events. It seems more like an acceptance kinda thing now. Yes gay people go to these things and are proud of being out -- which this is what I got what the parades, its not being proud about being gay, but being proud to tell people that you are gay -- but all sorts of people come to the parade and have fun and support and just to do everything. |
