Hey! Say! JUMP holds their first overseas concert in Hong Kong

Five years after their debut, the boys of Hey! Say! JUMP held their first overseas concert on May 26th at Kitec Star Hall in Hong Kong.

Last year, Kondo Masahiko and Yamashita Tomohisa performed at Kitec Star Hall, which holds approximately 4,500 people. Before the concert started, the venue was filled with excitement as fans called out, “JUMP! JUMP!”

When member Yaotome Hikaru called out to the crowd in Cantonese, “Hong Kong! Are you excited?!“, Yabu Kota also shouted, “More! More!” The boys showed off their flying act with folding fans and umbrellas wearing outfits decorated with folded-paper cranes. They also sang “Thank you ~Bokutachi Kara Kimi e~” in Cantonese.

During the Q&A segment, the members stepped off the stage and held an interview with the fans. They were bombarded with questions in Japanese such as “How were the room arrangements last night?“, ”Chinen-kun, did you go fishing with Arashi’s Ohno-kun?“, and “Please hold me tight!”

After singing and dancing to 29 songs, Nakajima Yuto expressed, “My nervousness disappeared in an instant. I thought about how blessed I am.” Arioka Daiki also said, “This concert became a replacement for JUMP’s business cards.” Meanwhile, Yamada Ryosuke commented, “We were able to reduce the distance between fans, who have been studying more Japanese than I thought.”

Johnny’s Jimusho’s president Johnny Kitagawa was also present at the concert. This marked Johnny’s first time in 10 years to attend an overseas concert. The last was Tackey & Tsubasa’s Taipei live back in May of 2002. He promised, “If the Hong Kong concert is a success, we should have more overseas concerts like in Hawaii and Las Vegas.”

i've listened to "JUMP WORLD" and it's a good album! :) my most favorite album tracks are "Boku wa Vampire", "Hurry Up!", and "Thumb & Pinky".

I didn't like the album tracks from JUMP WORLD at 1st as I thought they sound way too kiddy for my liking :x but after a while , I realised that they were made to sound like that in order to contrast the otherwise grown up sounding singles :O

It's funny when JUMP NO.1 was released , the opposite happened when their singles were kiddy sounding while the album tracks sounded very grown up :laugh

I wanted to get the CD only but in the end I think I will get the CD + DVD as I really like Endless Dream which's not included in the CD only edition =_=

JUMP WORLD would have much better if they excluded the sub unit group songs since it doesn't really make a difference since you have so many members in HSJ xD

NYC Releases New Song for Joypolis Tokyo

NYC recently attended the press conference for the re-opening of Joypolis Odaiba in Tokyo. Joypolis is an indoor amusement park owned by leading game giant SEGA. The three-member Johnny's group have been chosen as Joypolis campaign characters with the theme "WR CN HEROES~Orb of Darkness and the Light Warriors~".

During the press conference, the trio appeared in Joypolis' "digital real live stage" where they performed their new song "WE CAN BE HEROES". The said video featured a fusion of digital and real world and the NYC stage will stay until winter season.

NYC's Joypolis CM will air starting July 7th.

Could Ryutaro Morimoto make a come back when he graduates high school?

It’s been over a year since Ryutaro Morimoto was suspended indefinitely from Hey! Say! JUMP after photos of him doing underage smoking were splashed in gossip magazine Josei Seven, but could the Johnny’s talent make a come back, reports Cyzowoman.

The then 16-year-old Johnny’s talent was suspended on June 27, 2011. Since then, Morimoto’s name has been removed from the talent agency’s official website, and the media had reported Hey! Say! JUMP to be a nine-member group during their concerts in Hong Kong.

“I feel sad every time I see things like that, but I can’t help but feel hopeful that he’s just being suspended, not expelled. I do believe he’ll come back,” said one fan.

It has been reported at the time, Morimoto was a first year in his Horikoshi High School’s TRAIT course. Many teenage celebrities and athletes take this course which allows them to continue with their showbiz or training work without worrying about class times. Students can catch up with school work either in weekends or school holidays. The course comes with a steep price tag, but it has been reported Morimoto is currently still enrolled in the TRAIT course.

“There were sightings of him hanging out with his friends, including Johnny’s Jr. talent Jyuri Tanaka during the school’s autumn festival. He was happy to shake hands with fans, so I think he does want to come back.

He’s still a student so maybe the time to watch is when he graduates. Like, if he gets into university, there might be a double announcement about his university and his comeback,” said one Johnny’s news reporter.

Hey! Say! JUMP’s Ryosuke Yamada gets lead in detective drama, heading to Hong Kong

Producers and writers have been waiting years for Ryosuke Yamada to get old enough to play the lead in popular detective series “金田一少年の事件簿 (Kindaichi Shonen Jinkenbo)”, which will air on TV this winter as a special drama, reports Yomiuri Shimbun, Mainichi Shimbun, and Sponichi Annex on July 24.

It has been reported Yamada is the fourth Johnny’s talent to play the lead role of high school detective Hajime Kindaichi, following in the footsteps of Tsuyoshi Domoto (KinKi Kids) who starred in the first special drama in 1995, then Jun Matsumoto (Arashi), and Kazuya Kamenashi (KAT-TUN). The series was also made into a movie in 1997.

The drama is based on the manga series of the same name, which has been running for 20 years.

The upcoming show will be based on the manga’s current story, “金田一少年の事件簿　香港九龍財宝殺人事件 (Kindaichi Shonen no Jikenbo – Hong Kong Kowloon Zaihou Satsujin-jiken, The Hong Kong Kowloon Treasure Murder Mystery)”, which started being published in weekly manga magazine Weekly Shonen Magazine on July 11 this year. It has been reported the manga’s co-creator Shin Kibayashi (also known under the alias Seimaru Amagi) will be writing the script for the drama.

The story will take place in Hong Kong, where Kindaichi accompanies his friend Miyuki who is getting ready for an international fashion show. One day, Miyuki is kidnapped. As he tries to get a grip on the situation, he meets Yang Lan, another model who looks identical to Miyuki. As the two try to find Miyuki, someone is murdered the night before the fashion show.

“I’m extremely happy to be able to play a character who many of my seniors have played in the past. I think this will be a huge production, with the story being set in Hong Kong, so I promise to work as hard as I can. I want to bring out a Kindaichi Hajime that only I can produce,” Yamada said.

Drama producer Hiroko Hazeyama had said at least half of the drama will be shot in Hong Kong, and will involve an international cast and crew. It has been reported a Kindaichi drama starring Yamada had been planned five years ago, but production was postponed because Yamada looked too young at the time.

“The manga’s writer had wanted him (Yamada) to play the part for years, and that’s how this project came along. He has that cheeky boy personality Kindaichi Shonen needs,” she said.

It has been reported the drama will be filmed in Hong Kong from mid-September, and take about two weeks. Yamada had started to train for the action sequences, as well as learning some Chinese.

BTW, congrats for Yama-chan. But releasing a solo single doesn't mean he will leave the group. For example, both KinKi Kids members has their solo career, Tegomass also they are still in NEWS, as well as Nakayama Yuma still in NYC. It would be a disaster for HSJ if Yama-chan leaves the group, I can't even imagine about that. :no

It's hard to say , especially since in recent times , when members start to release solo material when they were still in their own groups , they still left eventually *points to ex KAT-TUN's Akanishi Jin & ex NEWS's Yamapi as a perfect prime eg. ~_~

But seriously if Yamada decides to leave HSJ in the near future , will I be surprised about it ? I don't think so , give him a few more years , he definitely can be a great successor to KinKi Kids's Domoto Koichi since both of them have great presence onstage

But for tomorrow's case , this will be his 1st time appearing as a solo artist

I'm not too found of Yamada's first solo Single, it's just isn't my cup of tea. And... I would honestly think that Nakayama Yuma from NYC can sing better than him :shrug in my point of view.

Today Hey! Say! JUMP has a special event in Thailand called "The First JUMP to Thailand 2013" and I WAS THERE!! ♥♥ It's only an hour event but it's SUPERB!! The boys sang/danced 3 songs Ultra Music Power for opening, SUPER DELICATE for closing and Dreams come true for ENCORE. The main event is answering some selected questions that Thai fans posting in the Facebook. And they annouced that there will be a concert in Thailand this year!!
