Aderianu 4th June 2012 08:29 AM

Will the shoe be at A Nation too?

tokyoxjapanxfan 4th June 2012 09:21 AM

But good news! I love a-nation and if Ayu wasn't going this year, I probably wouldn't have gone either! :)

YUKARI 4th June 2012 09:24 AM

~StarCatcher~ 4th June 2012 09:50 AM

Great news=)

Excited to hear a new summer song maybe;)

Chritopher 4th June 2012 10:07 AM

That's really depressing - only one date for Ayu. Now I feel kinda sad about buying my plane tickets to Osaka...

truehappiness 4th June 2012 10:10 AM

Niiiice, she's appearing! Though only at one date... maybe it's cutting too close to her tour?

freedreamer 4th June 2012 10:13 AM

BIGBANG and Ayu!!! whoaaaa

C+R+E+AYUMI 4th June 2012 12:29 PM

wow in the end she's going to perform!

bluegie 4th June 2012 12:55 PM

Hmmn.. one day only. At least she still attends the festival.

and BIGBANG on a-nation... I thought they aren't under avex... and Super Junior as well.. KPop does conquer the world somehow :P

BIGBANG is now under YGEX. a collaboration company set up by YG and Avex. so all YG artistes are also part of avex now.

Lizzyboo 4th June 2012 01:24 PM

omg AYU and BIGBANG!!!!!!!! in one place.....my little fangirl heart cant take this

why only one day Ayumi...

I quess we know when its going to be freakin packed!

Kazeyomi 4th June 2012 04:18 PM

Aw, just one day :/
At least she's performing though (even if I'd like more dates lol).

ayu_ready? 4th June 2012 04:20 PM

OMFG BIG BANG! I DON'T CARE ABOUT ANYBODY ELSE!!!!!!!!!!!

Aderianu 4th June 2012 04:33 PM

info about all other days

kaled kalil 4th June 2012 04:35 PM

a-nation isn't anymore a summer concert, it's a stadium festival now. There is a day for every type of song and artist (like bands, anime songs, idol, rock...).

AyuGAME 4th June 2012 04:54 PM

no fairies?

TeamAyu2004 4th June 2012 05:02 PM

^ a lot of the pictures say AND MORE coming... so maybe?

tokyoxjapanxfan 4th June 2012 05:15 PM

Hmmmm interesting. Ayu and Tohoshinki are both only doing one day, and are not performing on the same one. I bet that's got a little to do with it...

edit: yeah I just realized that no artist is going to be at any given date two days in a row, so never mind haha. I thought it was just Ayu and Tohoshinki, and since the had issues last year I thought Avex may have split them up. But all artists only appear once per venue.

TeamAyu2004 4th June 2012 05:30 PM

to do with what?

elvesword 4th June 2012 05:30 PM

YA, AYU!!

brener 4th June 2012 05:40 PM

BIGBANG *-* boyz always in the housee!

waterballoon 4th June 2012 05:46 PM

can't wait to see her performance!

Bigtop 4th June 2012 11:19 PM

That's too bad she will only perform on one day - the finale... But at least she will perform - but why only one day??? Maybe Avex budget constraints? Ayu schedule constraints? Maybe a combination of both?

JackieRos 4th June 2012 11:48 PM

so no more AYUMI HAMASAKI and others in a nation.

yay 2NE1!

can't wait for the goods, they were awesome last year

Kana×Shin 5th June 2012 12:21 AM

BIGBANG & AYU will perform the same day...
which is on August 26th!!!!!

Eh...AKB48 are not part of avex group if I'm not mistaking...then why they can perform at a-nation?:tired
What about Johnnys group & Nishino Kana?

Beauty4123 5th June 2012 12:34 AM

even though it's only one day, it's still great to hear that ayu will performing at a-nation. :)

TeamAyu2004 5th June 2012 12:48 AM

hehe... tweet ayuday!

rainbow_smile 5th June 2012 12:48 AM

Oh my God BIGBANG and Ayu performing on the same stage I just won't be able to handle this awesomeness! *-*

Delicious n Bold 5th June 2012 02:46 AM

At least Ayu gets one day. Better one day than nothing..

owlflight 5th June 2012 02:53 AM

I wonder what song she will open with.

TeamAyu2004 5th June 2012 03:05 AM

NEW SINGLE!

emi♡ 5th June 2012 03:34 AM

omg if she's going to be with BIG BANG on the same day, then I'd so want to go.

and mflo and 2NE1, damn.

Chritopher 5th June 2012 04:00 AM

Ayu apologizes in twitter that she can not make it to Osaka this year because of her schedule (though she's happy to see "please come to Osaka too!" messages from everyone).

TeamAyu2004 5th June 2012 04:11 AM

she must be planning a lot of things... (along with her tour of course.)

rakeru 5th June 2012 05:01 AM

AKB48 performed last year and so did Remioromen a few years back. They were invited as surprise guests.

eww kpop groups :dead2 on a-nation, again...the world is coming to an end.

emi♡ 5th June 2012 08:44 AM

Please, with a new single!!

K-pop... I used to like it but now all the songs and artist sound the same...
Boring...

tokyoxjapanxfan 5th June 2012 02:39 PM

While I'm most definitely not the biggest Kpop fan in the world, a-nation (Avex in general) is really stale right now. They seriously have nothing going for them. It's sad really. All of their big talent is aging and they're becoming passe. Yet they aren't trying to promote new artists. None of their idol units are fairing well either.

Having the kpop groups at a-nation adds something to the generally "old" artists. I mean really, TRF are there out of pity. I love TRF, but they really have no reason being there when the majority of the audience will not even have been born when they were big, lol. And they sing almost all the same songs every year, as they don't release new material.

Of course, there are still die-hard avex fans who loves everything that comes out of the company, but the generation that used to buy music based on label, producer, composer, etc. is over. "Avex" doesn't sell anymore, the same way "Komuro" doesn't sell anymore.

So yeah, I'd say throw in as many current, popular acts as possible, haha.

That's all well and true and from a certain angle I can understand why their doing it, but imo a-nation has lost it's appeal for me with this, as the majority of avex artists (BoA, Ku, Ai, Shimatani, Ami, Namie etc. -> the old crew) I listen to don't even perform there with the exception of AAA and Ayu (who's barely there this year).

I am alright with TRF being there, I don't care about them but I know a couple of their songs and I'd kinda expect them to be there. I guess the good times for JPOP have indeed ended and I can barely say I like the new jpop/kpop scene right now as it really has nothing to offer, especially if something as annoying as 2NE1 is the eye candy of the show...

jewelbox 5th June 2012 06:18 PM

I would love to go there this year.. because of 2NE1 :luv2

To produce music for kids under 15 that sounds annoying as hell and is sang by people who look like plastic dolls and are also under-aged and you can't really tell what they are any more as despite of the fact they're so young none of them remembers what they looked like 3 years ago? Thanks, but no thanks.

jewelbox 6th June 2012 08:56 AM

^that's your opinion, but if you want to think like that, same description goes for some J-pop groups.
Kpop is a fresh wind in the asian music scene and that's a good thing imo

They were fresh 3 years ago, as TeamAyu2004 said.

Andrenekoi 6th June 2012 05:52 PM

^Well, it's not like we can blame kpop... jpop hasn't being very competitive lately...

Too bad most kpop stars making it big aren't really the ones making the best music...

I would agree with you if 2 of the members in 2NE1 weren't closer to 30 than 13. Taking them as an example as they're at a-nation. They're a breath of fresh air for both Kpop and Jpop, even though their style is totally unsuitable for the Jpop market. The way they're sassy and cool for girls, they're closest to... somebody like Koda Kumi I guess.

I think generally the Kpop industry is a victim of this, but no more than the Jpop industry (and no, it's not just AKB48), but in both there are groups who are an exception to the negative generalisations.

If you're going to criticise Kpop, don't do it with ridiculous generalisations, especially ones that are equally, if not more, applicable to everybodys beloved Jpop. I'm hardly a Kpop fan, but if I want to criticise it, I'm going to use more than "they're all 15", "it's aimed at teenagers"... because those say nothing about the music, 'cause it can still be good. They look like dolls? Well guess what, more people say that about Ayu than they do about Kpop. Do her looks change what her music sounds like? No. The same rule applies for Kpop. Image is equally as important in both.

Rant over, but please, can we have some legitimate, decent and sensible criticism of kpop? Not just omg they're all young it's so fake blah blah blah. It's so redundant. It's getting old.

I actually don't mind them looking like dolls. 2NE1's music annoys me as hell. It sounds like rubbish and the majority of songs I've heard sound as if they're constantly swearing. I don't care if that's their thing I think it sounds terrible. As for the others it's not really hard to tell how similar and creative their songs and videos are and no I am not saying that the idol bands in Japan are much better than that, but the number of kpop idol groups is increasing exponentially every year, while in Japan that number hasn't seem to have grown as much compared to the number of solo artists and actual bands which are pretty much almost invisible in South Korea at least from our perspective. There are always exceptions, but imo you can pretty much see SHINee and Super Junior do each other's songs without any problems ^^ I am not going to start with all the moronic names they come up with (B1A4, 2PM, 4minute, T-ara, BAP...) and just google search the pictures of some of the latest boy groups that have debuted they all look the same - hairstyles, noses, outfits. While yes music should be the most important thing they are definitely making sure that people will dig their looks as well. It's undeniable that there are just way too many of them. While it was just DBSK and BoA I didn't really mind cuz they managed to bland in well, but all of these just stick out as a sore thumb.

Andrenekoi 6th June 2012 07:36 PM

http://askakorean.blogspot.com.br/19...p-artists.html

Even if the two kpop acts I actually like aren't on this top50 (Lee Jung Hyun and Uhm Jung Hwa, both are on the "almost" posts), it's a good series of texts to know some kpop artists that came way before BoA first stepped in Japan.

The thing is... those idols we get from kpop most of the time are mostly aimed to teenagers even in South Korea, and aren't really considered the best music produced on the country even by the natives...

everyone can sound like a Kpop expert here, knowing nothing about it :rolleyes

you can have your own opinion, but I do love YG, I'm a VIP & Blackjack, I guess it's kinda useless to persuade me into anything, I love BIG BANG more than anything, and I love 2NE1 :innocent
I listen to YG artists only, because they are talented and charismatic

you may not love the music & artists, but YG promotion & management teams are amazing. and they bring incredible results. that's what I actually meant. way better than lazy avex trax if you ask me. avex who even hasn't any new artists coming, good or bad.

RayJason 6th June 2012 10:57 PM

K-POP will never win my heart (at all), J-POP is my love. :) I also don't care for the Korean artists and I will skip their performances when I'll watch the concert on my computer (when it becomes available).

I belong to the small group of people who are happy that ayu will perform too! :)

Pieces_of_SEVEN 7th June 2012 12:21 AM

At least she's doing one date...I was thinking this would be the first year that she wouldn't appear at all.

TeamAyu2004 7th June 2012 12:36 AM

The later part of this year is becoming a dud for me...
Winter/ beginning of spring was great because of album... but no new single yet...
i was expecting something at least 2 months after her album...

Of course, most of the groups appearing are simply trying to emulate the success of groups like Girls' Generation, I can't talk about boy groups as I don't listen to any of them (not really my thing). I don't vouch for the creativity of the Kpop idol industry (because as mentioned, Kpop goes above and beyond the idol groups saturating the internet, Japan and the market) but I think everybody knows that isn't what being an idol is about.

Again, taking 2NE1 as an example, their existence proves there is a space in the idol industry for something radically different to the cute or sexy image. It may seem like garbage or trash, or something everyday and bland because they're music is more Western, but look at them. Then look at the themes of their lyrics. Do you see "oppa"? Do you see the other Kpop buzzwords? Look at the themes in their lyrics and videos. Look at their peers. It may be manufactured garbage to you, but you can't deny their unique standing in both Korea and Japan.

In Japan, I wouldn't even consider BoA or DBSK "kpop", they created themselves a whole new "Japanese" persona. I think Kara is going in that direction too, a style tailored for the Korean market, and one for the Jpop market (KaraPara was a genius idea). Not every group can do that, most are just looking to make the money they can't make in a smaller market.

...and solo artists and bands are not absent in Korea, you just don't hear about them as much because the idol following is significantly larger (and more vocal) than the entire Jpop fandom, combine this with the companies actively promoting overseas in Asia and the world, and of course the groups and bands are going to be overshadowed. They are there, go look for them.

:yes

After all, a-nation = ayu nation (lol for me). In a country where seniority matters, Ayu is definitely the eye candy of the show.

Ayu, sing Microphone+kiss o' kill+Return Road! Slap them "This is Hamasaki!" on the face!

jewelbox 7th June 2012 01:48 AM

I agree with ayu_ready? that YG does the promotion way better than avex. The promotion of Party Queen was.. almost non existant.

adantatu2 7th June 2012 02:41 AM

C'mon, this is not a "KPop VS JPop" thread, lol.
I like both (i prefer one but is a secret, XD).
For me a-nation = ayu-nation too, i hope she can sing a new song (i don't care if she releases the song in december)

TeamAyu2004 7th June 2012 03:37 AM

I dont know... I always considered it a nation. Like a nation united through music... almost a world is one... sniff... beautiful, lol (so corny right now)

ew at all the discussion, but yey for relmy for understanding.

I agree and that's prolly why I don't mind Kara either, even though I don't listen to them.

I am aware that solo artists still exist in Korea, but yeah considering how extreme is the idol following it's kinda of normal that you hear little about them if you're not really into kpop. As I said I don't really listen to KPOP, besides BoA's Korean stuff, but I've been listening to her since 2004, so I don't feel the need to go look for more Korean stuff :) Still so many of my used-to-be-JROCK-fans friends from Belgrade have switched to kpop now and they are all about boy idols >_>

As for 2NE1 I dunno about their lyrics as I never looked them up, as I never liked a single song I've heard, because I simply disliked their, although different, to me not very appealing music.

Yeep, someone ate into her back with the magic wand!

tokyoxjapanxfan 30th July 2012 06:16 PM

Omg her back I noticed this on mu-mo and was like O_O. SERIOUSLY? EVERYONE with eyes can see that's -not- supposed to be like that.

Once again proof at how unprofessional her photo editing team is. Sigh.

Queen Bee 31st July 2012 06:14 AM

Can I start slamming my head on my desk now? I'm sorry I usually don't complain but the fact that the image has an error on it that the editor and the person who uploaded it over looked it pisses me off quite a bit.

Is she going to close a-nation this year? Bring Ayu back the glory she only deserve. if not well *** avex :rolleyes

truehappiness 8th August 2012 02:52 AM

Last year, she didn't close the show due to drama with excluding JUNO from her performance, I think? She should be back in the finale spot unless something else happens.
