For some reason, last.fm never recognizes my iPod when I plug it in, so I have a ton of songs that haven't been counted (yet, hopefully haha).

Check if you have "enabled iPod scrobbling" (tools>options>ipod). If it is enabled then try to remove all devices that are assosiated with last.fm (tools>options>iPod>"clear user associations") and then plug your iPod in. That worked for me atleast when it didn't work for me.
You won't scrobble the songs that have been played on your iPod before... so there's a risk you will lose that, but it should work after that.

Pretty sure that songs played older than two weeks on your ipod don't scrobble. Sometimes I forget to scrobble my ipod soon enough and I lose some songs. Ugh.

Honestly, I became so obsessed with keeping my scrobbles clean I don't even use stereos anymore :laugh It's either one MP3 players or on my computer.

My last.fm doesn't seem to like to scrobble music from my ipod much these days (50/50) though but its always on so when I listen to music on itunes I know its always changing in my chart. I haven't checked it in a while but I would assume Ayu is still number 1 haha.

Yeah, I'd never actually use last.fm for listening to music.

I just like that it keeps track of everything. It's linked up with Spotify~ which is infinitely better than most things for streaming.

I use to have an account, but I got annoyed with all the proper tagging and I'm not one... who really cares how to tag properly so deleted it.

I do go there at times to find more artists or pictures.

I've had Spotify since '09, which is as long as I've had Last.fm. I don't use Last.fm to tune in to music, but to scrobble and keep track of the music I've listened to. It goes hand-in-hand with Spotify, there's an option under preferences to scrobble without even downloading the scrobbler from Last.fm. It's perfect!

Proper tagging is bs. I seriously think some people on there have OCD or something because I've seen people screaming and insulting others just because they don't have a song or artist tagged properly. That's why I've made my account friends only...

Last.fm is cool. I've met some really awesome people there! :) Those tag freaks are crazy sometimes, but I've just told them to back off and usually they just stay away. Of course, there are some moments when I just get annoyed with those people and just fix my tags so I don't need to look at their posts at all. Works nicely. :)

I think I have hid the Recent Activity part from others though for a reason I can't really remember at the moment. One thing that annoys me is that last.fm doesn't have many Finnish users because most of my 269 friends are from other countries (mostly from the US) and it makes me feel like I'm not even a Finn anymore but on the other hand it's great that I get to use English as much as possible because I love this language so much. :)
