TeamAyu2004 29th July 2012 05:47 AM

world tour would be EPIC!!

polka-dot-jewel 29th July 2012 06:13 AM

WOW!! I never thought I'd see these being shown in the US!! There's a slight chance I could go to the 9/2 showing (seeing as I have that day off as well as 9/3 off for Labor Day), but I doubt is, seeing as I'd have to fly all the way across the US just to see this... haha. I seriously hope these aren't the only showings! Who knows - I'm sure the West Coasters will pull through. If these do well, I'm sure they'll add more US showings. I hope so, anyway!!!

truehappiness 29th July 2012 06:15 AM

I think it may be inevitable that they'll show up in New York but you'd probably have to let Nosco USA know just in case? Just these appearing at all in the USA is a good sign!

Zeke. 29th July 2012 06:15 AM

I have a $200 credit with an airline that expires on Sept 2nd so I could possibly go. But to fly all the way there just to see a movie? But... I suppose, otherwise my credit will go to waste! It would be super rad if she made an appearance!

polka-dot-jewel 29th July 2012 06:21 AM

^ That reminds me I also have credits with Delta Airlines... I really have no plans for them, and if I used them, I would save A LOT of money!

JinHamasaki 29th July 2012 06:54 AM

I wonder what are the chances of her appearing...we know she loves L.A. *-*

truehappiness 29th July 2012 06:57 AM

http://puu.sh/MDQF

It looks impossible, sadly.

Kouyou 29th July 2012 07:00 AM

Guh, why can't they show this in theaters across the US? It's not hard to have maybe one screening per state, but I guess I should be thankful they even have screenings here! :dead2 I wonder why there are no screenings in Europe or elsewhere. Maybe they will announce some later...?

the angel song 29th July 2012 07:21 AM

this is just really...strange. Like who thought it would sell well enough to show it to English audiences? I mean I can see ayufans in the area going to watch it, but not the rest of us scattered across the continent and I doubt the rest of the populace would wanna shell out the money. But any exposure is good for her I suppose.

My thoughts exactly ):

SummonerXI 29th July 2012 07:28 AM

I wonder if this is just by a group of fans who bought screening royalties to show the Blu-rays, or if Avex was involved in the planning someway?

truehappiness 29th July 2012 07:38 AM

I don't think they're simply showing the Blu-rays...

Seems like this group has had quite a lot of work in the past. They seem to be like the group that Luis Hernandez and Masashi Muto are under... aka BOUNCE Films. (It's also seen as LOVE Films I think)

They do production of DVDs, PVs, and other things.

http://puu.sh/MEm6

Some works they've done:
Sony Walkman x Shota Shimizu and Jasmine
AI feat. The Jacksons - Letters in the Sky
Yuko Systems - Yuko Hair Salon PV
Union Bank - Alphanet
Tokyo Underground *drifting DVD*
Superfly - How Do I Survive?
MUSIC!ON TV's Superfly - Heroes of Woodstock
B'z Monster Garage DVD
Michael Jackson Tribute Concert
Chrysler - "Recruit"

owlflight 29th July 2012 12:21 PM

Why do I have to live on the east coast... I'll be out of the country anyway on those dates. I hope this is the start of something good for the international fans.

That is great! I'm happy for those who can go!

For those who are able to go, please go! You might think it's just a concert, but it's really different from watching on your plain old DVD!
I had watched both in Singapore theatres and it's awesome! The effects were really good, you feel that Ayu is like RIGHT in front you!
I strongly recommend it, especially for those who hadn't yet saw her live in concert, it's worth it!

It's still pretty odd though. Why have an official screening if they weren't planning on potentially doing more or expanding beyond Japan? Not to say that it's definitely going to happen, but because this is happening at all, the possibility is there.

Zeke. 29th July 2012 06:05 PM

I agree though, world tour has always been a bogus idea. If it happens, I will be extremely happy - but I do not even allow my mind to think of such things as I know how slim the chances are.

And what about the east coast of the same country this is being shown in? lol that's more plausible than Europe.

I kid, bb.

To be honest, it's always the way with Japanese acts who come to America. Most things are filmed or distributed in Cali, either because it's easier to schlep back to Japan afterwards or they just forget that there are other damn states hanging around.

The creepy thing about this is I had a dream just last night that Ayu was tweeting in English about releasing stuff in LA. wat.

True, it's traditional for foreign films over here to haved subs, but a concert film? Eh, if it were like AT07 maybe, because that had backstage stuff inbetween performances. Did the HK and Singapore showings have subs? If they did we might, but I doubt it.

Plus I doubt they'll place ads on TV and such for this concert. "Catch Ayu in theatres, but only in LA!" There might be a few adverts in the LA-area, but I'm sure they'll realize not many outside the Ayu/JPop fandom will see this.

truehappiness 30th July 2012 12:20 AM

I originally found out about this from a friend who read about it in a free Japanese news publication so I think it will definitely get a bit of press in the LA area. There was a live May'n concert that had a bunch of posters around Torrance/Little Tokyo/etc. a few weeks back. It might be advertised on UTB 18.2 around here and maybe 44.1 as well?

Also... I attended the Miku concert broadcast in Anaheim and it had no subs. I don't think they would sub the concert to begin with anyway. I don't believe they did this for the Asian screenings of the concert either?

Jennie Mae 30th July 2012 06:01 AM

I'm seriously debating on going, it depends on my work schedule. It's a six hour drive away, but then I think how far away all the rest of you are and it doesn't seem so bad!

C+R+E+AYUMI 30th July 2012 08:38 AM

Oh guys, this is so great! Hope many of you can attend the shows!

voltron 30th July 2012 07:21 PM

Ugh, I wish 7 Days would come out on 3D blu-ray already, so I could see it.

Does anybody know if the movie screenings have typically cut out the intermission/costume change videos? That was the one thing that made me sad about my A3D DVD for Next Level -- all the beautiful interlude videos are gone!

You have psychic powers, my friend.

If only this had been released earlier this year, I would have been able to see since I was in LA at that time. Cruel irony.

truehappiness 31st July 2012 01:31 AM

She did just tweet that night in English about You & Me.

jessicar 31st July 2012 05:34 AM

Hopefully this sells well because you never know what could come out from it...

ayupan90 31st July 2012 11:50 AM

From the sounds of it most of the people who have posted can't go lol maybe an audience of 5 :P

truehappiness 31st July 2012 12:24 PM

The theater isn't that large but neither were the ones with the screenings in Asia.

http://www.downtownindependent.com/page/facilities-1

- 222 Stadium style seats, including 16 reclining sofa seats.

That's about 888~ or so fans that can attend? Maybe more in the sofas? It's interesting to note that the theaters that showed this in Japan were only slightly larger than this one.

I already know a handful of people who are going (not from here) and since it's being advertised to most Japanese people in the LA area, I imagine a majority of the audience is going to come from them and not from forums.

I should really get my tickets soon just in case...

They also ask in the purchase about what other artists' concerts people would like to see. I wonder who will be next!

Yup, there aren't any subs. But it should be okay, as there is no MC in the concert movie, just the songs performance.

Andali 31st July 2012 02:25 PM

Curses. I don't live in America

truehappiness 31st July 2012 02:31 PM

Just wondering but did anyone bring goods when you guys went to your screenings? I'm probably bringing glowsticks as well for fun along with my other tour goods.

luna7996 1st August 2012 12:08 AM

Any hope that Ayu will show up in person at the screening to say hello to fans? XD

truehappiness 1st August 2012 12:29 AM

Unfortunately, she has tour dates that whole weekend.

Yannetakizawa 1st August 2012 01:19 AM

can probably also serve as a test

I think that many people actually attend who knows she can not see how popular outside of Japan. This could yield a show in the future.

= / It does not hurt to dream

luna7996 1st August 2012 05:00 AM

Awww. :( If there was the tiniest chance that she would be there I would have max out the credic cards and go but for the showing alone it aint worth all the money I would have to use on hotel, airplane tickets, food, etc. :P

douggn 1st August 2012 06:36 AM

Has ayu made any comment on this yet? Still would like to know if it was avex or just the cinema which organized it?

Chibi_Venus 1st August 2012 06:51 AM

Well, la-dee-da for LA.

Hahaha xD but no, really, that's interesting. It does seem sudden that they're throwing a showing in the states. Pretty cool though! :)

A lot of Japanese fans are talking about it but so far Ayu has made no comments.

polka-dot-jewel 2nd August 2012 04:48 AM

Just curious, but how are the Japanese fans reacting to the news? I suspect the Japanese media might talk about it a bit (perhaps when the films are released here).

truehappiness 2nd August 2012 04:50 AM

http://twitter.com/#!/search/realtim...E3%82%86%20A3D

Judging from these tweets, they're kind of excited? I hope Ayu responds eventually. "Yes, we decided to show these in America for a secret reason!" or something.

Not sure if this was just added but...

The English says "Official Ayumi Hamasaki gifts" but the Japanese says we'll get (temporary) tattoos! (tattoo seals in Japanese)

Guess we'll have to wait until the day of.

Tattoos are considered gifts? They're not the gifts I would be hoping for (that strap given out at A3DII seems much nicer), but hey - a gift is a gift, I suppose. Who knows, there might be more at the screening!

rikku411 3rd August 2012 08:54 PM

So the organizer got back to me and said:

Best,
A3D Team
Neither confirming nor denying that they might do the screenings elsewhere. So I suppose it could go either way.

truehappiness 4th August 2012 02:51 AM

I think it depends on turnout, but they're definitely gonna plan more events in the future judging from their questionnaire during purchase. Ask for Ayu again!

polka-dot-jewel 4th August 2012 05:54 AM

Well this definitely inspires me to go even more. If I can help, even just a bit, in getting A3D released around the country, I'm all for it!! I'm hoping tickets will still be available on Friday, when I'll actually be able to buy them.

ohsixthirty 4th August 2012 06:11 AM

Nice news, but I think it should be great if they play the movie on a special anime, manga and J-culture event such as comicon or so. It will get a lot more intention. But then again, what do I know hehe
The Rock 'n' Roll Circus should be great. That concert is epic.
