It's a speedy rock number with strings! Just as they said... there's quite a bit of a 'wow yeah' moment in the song, I think.

The excitement... agh!! I CAN'T HANDLE IT. IT'S AMAAZING!!!! It's a very classic sounding song imo.

A shame about the title though. Very... odd choice for Ayu.

I'm such a sucker for these typical Anime opening/ending songs, i wish Ayu did them more often cause she rocks the hell out of them tbh. This is exactly the type of song she needs to do right now and what i wanted from her. I AM SO HAPPY RIGHT NOW

The cutesy song title doesn't exactly fit with how the song itself sounds, and that's good. Would rather have a great sounding song with a crappy title than vice versa~ Can't wait to hear the song in full. Love epic-sounding rock tracks with a great beat. <3

My reaction really. I didn't hear ANYTHING special in the preview, really, really disappointing after Party Queen. But Ayumi is known for surprises, who knows what will come up in the second half of the song.

Exactly how I feel. But the "yeah yeah yeah" is giving me odd life. I don't understand, but its just OMG. Like others said, she'll probably yell and shriek through that part during a live performance. So, I'll stick to the studio version.

I don't think anyone has been hating on the song yet. And judging from a nearly 2 minute medium quality clip doesn't seem too stupid to me. We have the opening, one verse, one chorus and a bit of connective pieces, so we practically have 70% of the song unless it has a surprising twist. We can most definitely judge the melody, parts of the harmony and arrangement.

I like what I am hearing so far. It doesn't leave the strong impression of awesomeness that progress did, still it's MILES better than You & Me. Now I don't hear the "rock" part of the song anywhere, so I guess it is closest to Shimatani's Shinku arrangement-wise. Looking forward to the full song!

Mmmh, better than You & Me. Sounds pleasant actually. But, and I have to agree with some people here it is a bit generic and it feels extremely familiar to older songs. I'll wait a bit, often I like Ayu songs better with time.

Dont let yourselves be too excited/disappointed about the preview. When we heared "progress" on the trailer it sounded like a cheap mix bwteen blossom and is this LOVE? (well, for me at least) , while the final version turned out to be super epic. Im hoping for a similar effect tbh

There's really no pleasing anybody here.
Everybody complains that releases don't sound as good as her old stuff.
Then we get something that is vaguely similar to her past work and people hate it for that reason.
I don't understand this logic.

I don't know about 'pushing it' with the SURREAL comparison because later on in the song I feel like I can burst into "Sono mama no kimi de ite hoshii" from the end of SURREAL.

It's just something I'm observing and I still love the song despite that.

Definitely sounds better from the HQ-trailer. But also kinda bland and generic. Like...it would make a good Nana Mizuki album track, but not more. Hoping for some interesting twist in the full version. We didn't realize progress had an acoustic opening and heavy guitar solo at first either.

Well, there was the official announcement a day or two ago... then the actual 'reveal' that happened today. And the announcement that she was doing the ToX 2 theme.

And then there's also the fact that it'll be released in a different version on another CD that isn't Ayu-centric. It stinks when there's a lot of news, but I don't think we can really stick it in one place yet since it's just ONE SONG atm and not an officially announced physical release yet.

I'm also hearing (and digging) the Nana Mizuki-ness of the song.

To be honest, I absolutely love it. Progress is one of her best songs imo and if I had to choose the song I thought most likely to become a "classic" from this era, it'd be progress, if that makes sense.

I get a similar feeling from Song 4 U. What I like is that the songs really fit the games - I dunno how many of you have played the Tales of series and can appreciate it, but the songs sound very, very Tales-esque, very moving and driven and with a bit of a fantastical/ethereal hint.

This song, just like progress last year, gave me goosebumps! That's a really good sign in my books.

Hmmm... The song was okay, it seems to be one of those Ayu songs I really like when they come out (since it's new and all) and six months later it's the song I return to couple times a month just to listen to it and to be amazed. Her voice was the thing I reacted to, not so much the arrangement.

For me, the arrangement doesn't seem to be much, but her voice makes up for it. I have the same thing with is this LOVE?, only vice versa. Her voice is alright, but for me she pushes her voice too much on the CD. But the arrangement is so fierce, I don't mind it taking more spotlight off of Ayu than what an arrangement should.

^Well for me, I'd have to see the lyrics/translation. I love Love song, but the lyrics are not my taste at all, too cliché and mainstream. I disliked MOON, Do It Again and Like a Doll until I saw a translation and now I can't get enough of any of them (well, maybe MOON, hhhaha) But I agree with you about the sound, it gives the song a hint of mystery.

And some of us simply know what we like/dislike - when I saw the Secret CM for the first time, I gagged at Beautiful Fighters. gagged on a, what was it, 5-7 second clip? And my mind hasn't really changed. People are free to say if they like/dislike a song based on the given material and to be able to change their minds afterwards. But to say something like (not saying that anybody here did this) "this is the most awful Ayu song ever, they should burn this" would, yes, be a bit extreme. I still wouldn't call them stupid since that's just mean, but oh well, I might be overreacting.
