That's one awful article xD I will never get why people read Perez' blog.

I'll wait for the album leak to judge.

I read Perez' blog because he is totally non-sense and cracks me up.

After listening this preview, I feel this album is quite weak, at least not as strong as Talk That Talk or Loud.

Only songs I like is Phresh On the Runaway, Right Now, Nobody's Business, Love Without Tragedy / Mother Mary

isthisLOL? 7th November 2012 02:23 PM

I consider TTT her weakest album so...if she can create another Loud, as in a catchy Pop album with good production, I'll be fine. Though of course I hope for an album similar in quality to Rated R...but that won't happen.

kotora 7th November 2012 02:56 PM

I think music of the sun is the weakest album. I still want Roc Me Out as a single.

NintendoHTF1242 7th November 2012 03:20 PM

A song with David Guetta? I'm actually really interested in that track.

Zeke. 7th November 2012 06:07 PM

The first like 5 songs or so sounded absolutely terrible. It's like she has morphed into Weezy and become some big hard-ass thug. Yuck. And had like this out-dated sound written all over it. I thought "Wow, this album is going to bomb, this is not single material"

But, then the other tracks began to play and it sounded much better.

emi♡ 7th November 2012 07:26 PM

I'm excited for it after these snippets...I just wish they'd get some new...sounds? to use.

Like I'm so tired of these keyboard percussion sounds in this music. I get that it's integral to the sound...but god, talk about being crazy overused.

That ballad. I wish it was only her on the track...and then it has that percussion track in the back that reminds me of Drake's Marvin's Room.

And yeah, definitely some throwback tracks on the album...of course lol some of them are funny. Oh riri, why.

I want something NEW. Talk that Talk was already like this album. Even though this one is more mellow....it's still the same mix of electro sounds with throwback sounds...and her same ballads.

omg this song is so house lol Nobodies business. Flashback to 1996.

anyways, I think I'll like the album...but idk if I'll like it over ttt. I really loved the heavy heavy synths and beats they had in that album, and it's not really in this one.

inthezone 7th November 2012 08:04 PM

Way too urban for my taste. The first few tracks are awful. Love without tragedy is my fav

Delicious n Bold 8th November 2012 02:37 AM

Just listened to all the snippets.
They were all so disappointing... But Diamonds still isn't bad at all.
Oh well, I wasn't expecting anything from Rihanna anyway. She should just release a singles collection which collects all her singles from Pon de Replay up till Diamonds. I'd buy it instead of an album...

TeamAyu2004 8th November 2012 03:14 AM

i dont expect much from her albums, so i might not be disappointed, but I will still wait for the full leak.

setsuka 8th November 2012 03:37 AM

I actually really love the previews, safe still kinda gagging at her making a song with Breezy called Nobodies Business and the lyrics........smdh

shot and killed any respect I have for her left from the Cake remix, sigh

Nu-NRG 8th November 2012 06:06 AM

Are the eeeeee really neccessary in the song o.o; and this is like a Rated R part 2

Yes. It is what I think, especially this album involves Chris Brown. However, I like that song Rihanna with Chris Brown. It definitely will be a single.

Pieces_of_SEVEN 9th November 2012 04:21 AM

Lord, in terms of fast releases, she's the American version of ayu! lol

Pieces_of_SEVEN 9th November 2012 05:16 AM

^I've thought it for a while. But, IMO, IMO, IMO, when she tends to rush, her albums come out sounding that way, and to me, there are only a few standout tracks.

I don't feel that way with ayu.

Kouyou 9th November 2012 05:20 AM

Is anyone else going to mention how heavily 'shopped Rihanna's legs are in the first post? I love her curves, why edit them out? :no

Pieces_of_SEVEN 9th November 2012 06:26 AM

she has released an album every year since 2005, actually, lol. there wasn't an album in 2008, but Good Girl Gone Bad was re-released.

i usually like Rihanna's singles, but her albums are usually hit or miss to me. i liked Loud & Good Girl Gone Bad the best. so far, Unapologetic reminds me of a mellow continuation of Talk That Talk...

The new album previews sound just...bad. For some strange reason though I'm excited for the album release.

Maemi 14th November 2012 06:43 PM

"Nobody's Business" (featuring Chris Brown)

Seriously?

Delicious n Bold 14th November 2012 08:11 PM

Phresh out the runway..
I somehow like it. A lot.

Despite it being such a bad and annoying song.
And proving that her writers need to take English classes. But as a potential linguist, I shouldn't judge their grammar flops... Ugh. Whatever

Did the album leak yet? I wanna jam to the song.

Michael Jackson is dead, how the hell could he write a song??

It's a sample. Like how he's credited on Don't Stop The Music.

To be honest, I hate Rihanna, but couldn't pass the chance to comment on this. I also get excited about some albums when the previews are bad ajajajja. I don't know why, but it happens! :P

Did it really leak?
100% sure?

setsuka 15th November 2012 11:40 PM

it is a nice album

my faves are Fresh out the Runway, Diamonds, Numb, Love without tragedy and Jump

I love she releases an album every year, just like Kuu and 60% of Jpop acts

I hate how 80% of Western artists I like take 3-4 years to only dissappoint me and flop

TeamAyu2004 16th November 2012 12:22 AM

it leaked, yay!

TeamAyu2004 16th November 2012 12:37 AM

okay, ive listened to power it up...
and I have to say im pretty disappointed...

the songs (sans Diamonds) seem so hollow and lacking...

kotora 16th November 2012 01:27 AM

This album is Rated-R part 2, IMO.

Single Materials: Right Now, Fresh off the Runway, and ChRihanna's song "Nobody's Business"

I see
What Now being a single... thats a pretty good track, and maybe Right Now because of David Guetta...

It seems okay... its a Rihanna album so my hopes were not that high... I tend to like 40% of the albums and this is about the same.

Delicious n Bold 16th November 2012 03:41 AM

rihanna didn't co-write any song? oh well, at least she's honest about her songwriting, unlike Beyonce.

TeamAyu2004 16th November 2012 03:45 AM

:shrug
I dont know...

I really do like Love without tragedy, its nice, long...
Nobodys Business is VERY Michael Jackson

Delicious n Bold 16th November 2012 03:48 AM

^ Did Rihanna emulate MJ's style in that song?

Gonna force myself to listen to this album soon :P

TeamAyu2004 16th November 2012 04:02 AM

its more coming from chris brown...
but its a good song...
not too boring, but not a lot going on.

Pieces_of_SEVEN 16th November 2012 04:34 AM

I have mixed feelings about this album. Maybe she'll surprise me and I'll like it.

Pieces_of_SEVEN 16th November 2012 06:03 AM

Pieces_of_SEVEN 16th November 2012 06:30 AM

Shhhhhhh...anyway...so far I only like What Now and Right Now

kotora 16th November 2012 06:51 AM

Honestly, I really don't like the idea that she just makes some garbage music when she knows she is popular and lots of people expect her good music.

Aw I miss the old Rihanna before she get involved with Chris Brown

emi♡ 16th November 2012 09:18 AM

Who in their right ****ing minds told her it would be a good idea to put all of those basic ass ballads at the front of the album.

i like Numb, Stay, Jump, & Love Without Tragedy-Mother Mary.

Maemi 17th November 2012 02:00 PM

What a boring album :/

isthisLOL? 17th November 2012 02:02 PM

Maemi 17th November 2012 02:09 PM

Unapologetic is a great album. In style is very similar to Talk That Talk but I don't really mind because I love this style quite a lot. I'm so obsessed with this album now. Fresh and Phresh pronouns as the same way. However, Fresh off the Runway could not pass Apple iTune store policy and the management had to change the name to Phresh off the Runway on Apple iTune.

Zeke. 22nd November 2012 07:34 PM

From Urban Dictionary:

Fresh off

Fresh off refers to the feeling of euphoria that one feels immediately after smoking marijuana.

Knowing Rihanna, this is definitely what she was trying to get at with that title.

ストロボ・EdGE 22nd November 2012 11:43 PM

I appreciated the considerable differences between GGGB, Rated R, and Loud and really liked those three albums and even when TTT came out, although I liked only 2 or 3 songs, it was cool that she was doing something different. Since the dance shift pop has taken hip hop is no longer ubiquitous so she was doing something different than the lot; that fabulous hard gangstress persona thing... whatever. Ironically enough, her only two arguable "hits" from that album were both dance tracks.

I really liked Diamonds, and it's such a huge departure for her, so when I heard the 1:30 previews for the rest of Unapologetic I was like... this is just leftover tracks from TTT. This makes two albums in a row where, apparently, they're trying to sell the whole thing from just one strong track (WFL, Diamonds).

Whenever an album or single isn't up to their criteria people usually like to call it "rushed," but I don't know what else to call this... I mean, in the spring she said she wasn't planning on an album for 2012.

So yeah I don't plan on buying Unapologetic, or listening to it.

toLOVE 23rd November 2012 02:30 AM

Honestly I want another Talk That Talk or Loud type of album lol. Unapologetic isn't really my cup of tea, but there are some songs that I LOVE such as Stay (this song have to be a single), Diamond, Right Now (another song that should be a single, hahaha) and Jump.

NintendoHTF1242 23rd November 2012 03:38 AM

I assume Right Now will become a single (it's club-hoppin' and features David Guetta, good enough). But Jump is my jam omg dat chorus holla

There's a few catchy songs on it, but nothing really caught me like some of her songs did in other albums. I'm disappointed and I feel she was either forced to release an album this year or..something. It just feels under par and she's capable of so much better.

Delicious n Bold 23rd November 2012 07:02 PM

I really do wonder if rihanna will debut at no1 in the USA
then again, you never know.

isthisLOL? 23rd November 2012 07:50 PM

I think it's ridiculous how much Rihanna haters bash her for never having had a #1 album in America. She had SEVERAL worldwide #1 albums by now.
And even then, it's not like chart positions say anything about quality, Unapologetic remains crap even when it reaches #1.

TeamAyu2004 23rd November 2012 10:37 PM

Well, they are saying this this will be her first number 1...
which should should have done a long time ago... it is amazing that she has yet to hit this.

and hitting number 1 has nothing to do with quality, but relevance.

isthisLOL? 23rd November 2012 10:48 PM

And what pop stans call "relevance" is irrelevant to everyone but the record labels and stars themselves, so why would it matter?

ストロボ・EdGE 23rd November 2012 10:52 PM

I didn't know Western fans even payed attention to chart placement. If anything the Billboard Hot 100 is the general focus.

@Koumori
Honestly, it was all I could do to listen to TTT all the way through twice. Initially I liked maybe half the songs, but if I do listen to any of it it's WFL or WHYB.

I still really really like her though. Next November she could do another 360.

TeamAyu2004 23rd November 2012 10:57 PM

^ the hot 100 is the best bet.

@isthislol. just because you dont agree with it doesnt mean it doesnt matter. And it doesnt make everyone else a stan. Its relevant to people who care and getting a number 1 is a good thing, which means its relevant to them unlike some crap that some people spew out thinking its fact.

She was the top artist like forever. I assumed she had top albums.

Guess not.

Guess it also doesn't matter...cause she's still a top artist, and everywhere, and everyone still loves and hates her.

Besides, if it doesn't sell well, the labels will just whine and cry about internet piracy.

There are few different meanings of fresh off. Thats why she performs this song in Victoria Secret's fashion show, and then she ended up in smoking hot p*t at backstage.

Also, there is another meaning.. that may refer to Chris Brown's last gf..
