Okay!

So it has come to my attention and a few others (You know who you are! :P) that we don't really have a thread about ayumi where you can talk just about ANYTHING that is own are mind...

and quite frankly i can't believe this has happened before!
So all of our comments that are deemed off topic, but are about ayumi, can fit quite nicely here!!

Lets keep it clean and nice however!!

Worst haircuts: the one for Secret/Free & Easy have always bothered me. Except when its long like on the Secret cover. Makes her look fat.

I was looking at the photoshoot for the MY STORY album the other day and I noticed that her hair looks great in that one. It might be my favorite.

I loved her hair from the M(U) concert at the end, its was so long and dark.

Really i dont care what color it is as long as its long.

What I wouldn't do to have my hair like this once in a while..

I like the pics in MY STORY where she has the cell in the car, her bob cut is pretty cute there.
I also loved the virgin road hair too.

I also love that wig from A Song for xx from her Dome tour [?], straight and long dark hair. Dont know if it would fit her nowadays tho.

She looks like Sailor Mars with it xD But she looked so cute in it, I love it too.
Her bangs would need to be longer now that she's older though.

I actually did my friend's hair like this today. She left booking a salon appointment too late for her work night out, so she asked me to style it. Same length (maybe slightly longer, even) and colour as Ayu's in that pic. :D

I have a bit longer and dark brown, but my hair is thick and curly from before, and its more unruly curls that live their own life. If i try to curl my hair with a curler it just ends up as a giant mess. MESS.

Was playing some Ayu remixes the other day while cleaning the kitchen and my birds went crazy. They started singing and dancing! Yep my parakeet and cockatiel are Ayu fans :P

my cat is an ayumi fan...

he loves it when I play I am... I have no idea why... but he comes up and sits right next to the speaker every time.

Back when A BEST 2 came out I used to do marathons and even then it took forever!

I dreamt once I was singing walking proud with Ayu on tour and forgot the lyrics. She laughed at me xD

The latest attempt saw me start from love, then again, then ASfXX but I played songs in backwards order

Then I just skipped guilty. meh.

^ you know... when i first got into Ayumi, I didn't really care for RAINBOW... i felt like it was a poor imitation of I am. But now it has grown on me and I like it just as much.

Its kinda like how I felt about Unite! I was like... it's a poor mans version of evolution!

Fly High, Duty, Free and Easy... but entirely, the I am album I was just in love with.

Another topic: Have you ever attempted to compile all original mixes into one huge album (not in order of their release)? And if so, how did you do so?

For example, did you begin with medium ballads, and end with an uplifting song like WE WISH?

I think I'm going to attempt that today.

I usually listen to them like that too! It's kind of funny actually when you make a completely random playlist, and you end up with an earlier song like depend on you playing straight after a modern tune like Missing...
Her voice, it's just so different!
You would think they are two completely different artists...

I actually compiled a 'LOVE' playlist the other day. It included songs from LOVEppears, Love songs, LOVE, again, and every other song in her discography that had love in the title...

I was just thinking... Imagine if ayu collabed with Lana del Rey on creating some songs for this new album? It could be the most epic thing ever or her shittiest tracks by far.

But I mean original music... I must have a weird form of OCD because instead of wanting to listen to her albums whole, I want just fast tracks, or just slow tracks, or just break up tracks or... well you get it.

RAINBOW does not get enough love in my iTunes. Nor does MY STORY. I think because I overplayed RAINBOW for a few months, and MY STORY I can only listen to now and then.

I hope that Ayu does kind of like a Persian/Tales from the Arabian Nights theme soon. Kind of like what she did for Don't look back at AT10. Koda Kumi has overdone it, and Ayu has not done enough of it!!!!

Speaking of, that album is lyrically and musically one of the best of hers.

Hmmmmm, that's quite a difficult question.

As a whole though, it would have to be MY STORY. It's just...so repetitive. And it's long!

i can never replay guilty. it was the first ayu album i ever felt in real life. but that doesn't mean much. sure, i will end up buying it, but yeah.
and sometimes my story. it drags like heck. BUT the songs individually DO work. just as a whole its a bit...

I put it into her still finding myself stage because, for me at least, she was still finding herself lyrically and musically.

I didn't think until Duty that she safely find her nich and started making it work. Not to say that LOVEappears wasn't the start of it.

Guilty is the only album that I can skip and be happy... Both that and My Story I only have to listen to once and awhile.

I used to listen to duty (album in full) all the time. same with SURREAL. but i used to get so angsty over surreal. ALL OF AYU'S LYRICS CAN BE RELATED TO ANYONE. which is why i just can't with surreal.

and vogue. but now i play it a lot.

edit: the power of a high school dropout and her writing abilities. I'm taking writing courses and i can't even measure up to this chick. and I'm also doing japanese so i actually understand some things. which is also why i can't take surreal.

^ Surreal is such a good song for me... I know everyone says bad things because of the song (not really bad things, but its sad and what not).
But I dont think ayumi feels that way about it.... I know i don't... lol

BUT: when she recorded ASfXX, did she not speak a lick of english? I'm just wondering where the song titles came from if she couldn't speak english at all (my assumption)
NOT to be mean to ayu, but some of the song titles (especially for an english beginner) are just.. well. the song titles are very natural in English. Ive always wondered how they get named/who names them.

maybe she makes a japanese title and someone translates it to english?
but now, her english is A LOT better and i believe she names the songs herself 100%.

why do i love it so much? look what this thread has done to me. now i WANT the ASfXX album. want. as in desire to own.

I like the way Japenese singers name their songs and I thinks that's due to a bit of ignorance in English. Not many western singers would name a song "Heartplace", "A song is born", "TO BE" or even "M" :P They see some kind of poetry in words in a different way, maybe cause of they are stuck to the Japanese language structure.

ugh, western singers wouldnt know a title if it hit them in the face...

i dont understand all the love for moments. i never liked it as much as some do. casual ayu fans usually love this song (and dearest). i like dearest more than moments.

I love moments mainly because it was my first single that i perordered.
But over all song, there are better, not saying that its bad of course.

my first single was rule/sparkle (bought in feb 2012)

i really wanted to see the sparkle PV so i got the cd/dvd edition
then i realized it wasn't on the dvd. so i died inside.

i think the Lezbians should get Angel's song. It's a song about love. and they fit it perfectly. mars can go with memorial address cuz of her father. OR mercury. cuz mercury is angsty about her father in the SuperS manga for a hot minute.

The sound and just feelings I get from Angel's song scream Ami too me for some reason. It's kinda being bubbly, but not enough to be Minako, it's what Ami wants to be but is too reserved to be.

I could switch Uranus/Neptune with Moon/Mask... both songs work for both sets of characters... Ill have to take a look at the lyrics again... there was something about both sets that just made be pick what I wanted...

i think the loss in MA was why i wanted Uranus/Neptune... lezbians that can't be together because socity wont allow it... lol

Two of my four cats like Ayu. If they notice I'm watching her PVs they'll come over and watch too. :) Or if I'm watching them on the TV instead of my laptop one will actually climb up on the display and paw at the screen. :D
