Oops. I forgot about this thread. ANYWAYS.

Ayu disaster today. But what can you do.

Jpop in general has died for me. I couldn't even get through two hours of the Music Station Super Live. I wonder what Kouhaku will be like.

I fell back in love with KAT-TUN today. :love

I listened to them almost exclusively for 6+ months so I took a break from their music shortly after their sixth album came out earlier this year. I also ended up selling something like fifteen of their CDs over the past couple of months because I lost interest in being a "collector" and having all of the different versions. But my parents bought me their new concert DVD for Christmas so I watched it this afternoon. Immediately remembered why I love them. Been listening to Tatsuya Ueda's RUNAWAY on repeat since the DVD finished. :heart

BREAKERZ going on hiatus from Spring 2013 onwards

It certainly feels like it came out of no where, but looking back at their most recently released MV, it seems like this was foreshadowed (I may be reaching but it feels somewhat coincidental). Their release schedule has also been very strange this year compared to previous years, with long gaps of time elapsed between the release of their singles after their last album release (their last single was only a single song released digitally). Overall, for me, this year has been a little crappy due to the lack of releases from some of my favorite artists as well as some drama that has surrounded them, but this certainly takes the cake and puts the cherry on top of it being the worst year musically for me.

Did BREAKERZ give any indication of a comeback? I know they said that they're going on a hiatus from Spring 2013 onwards but did they mention anything like "We're taking a hiatus but we'll be back before you know it" type of message to go along with the announcement?

for that no , it's just that when me & my friend went for their last house tour date on Wed , during their very long MC sessions , DAIGO was talking/updating everyone on what their 2013 plans will be like & 1 of which was about their hiatus from Spring 2013

Honestly I was very glad my friend & I went for Wed's gig , if not I'm very sure it will be something I might regret big time since balloting for their house tour tickets was very difficult unlike next year's hall tour of theirs

Out of 17 live house tour dates , 11 of them were sold out , including Wed's gig so I felt so 'exclusive' I was able to attend & go for it . Me & my other friend might probably be the only non Japanese that attended it ? hahaha

Let alone , all my friends in their fandom kept on saying that I'm already long overdue to go see their concert for the longest time ever & this year after I've graduated from University , it's seriously now or never for me D:

They still will be performing as Jan/Feb will be their hall tour but after they come back from Hawaii (as part of their 3rd overseas fanclub trip with fans) & RUSTY HEARTS mini lives + handshake events in March , I think from April 2013 will be the time when each of them will go do their own thing

They haven't mention how long/short their hiatus will be but to me , what they've accomplished for the past 5 years as a band is something you can't use words to describe as they really work their butt out as they were nobodies in the beginning & nobody gave a **** about them til much later on (it's still like that even up to now but I reached a stage in not placing so much emphasis on this since it's really people's loss for not knowing just how great they're)

I kinda have a rough idea what each of them will be doing solo wise next year but as their fan , I have their best interests at heart & I definitely support their solo projects after the band go on hiatus , for sure big time

I'm happy to hear that you were able to attend the event, that must have been very exciting! As you've said, they've been working very hard and while I'm sure you'll miss their group activites during the hiatus, they've accomplished a lot overall and will be working hard on their solo activities and will make a big comeback when they come back together as a group to continue their music. :)

To think my mum told me I should sell their tickets LMAO she had NO idea just how difficult it was for me to be able to secure them via their fanclub since I'm in their fanclub itself

Even my friends who're team brz members didn't had any luck to get hold of their house tour tickets , that goes for their own friends living in Japan . Needless to say , my friends were astounded when I told them about this as it was my 1st time balloting for the tickets & with me being successful 1st time round :thud

But with that said , Wed's gig of theirs was truly amazing . I was literally 5 rows away from the stage & I was so close to them , it was CRAZY if not surreal . I saw everything if not everyone onstage with such a great view spot that I was at & times like this , being tall helps :laugh

It will be downright weird in not getting new material from them from Spring 2013 onwards as I'm so used to them spoiling everyone with new stuff on a yearly basis but at least I'm mentally prepared about their impending hiatus

Also I think the break from suspending their band activities will do them good as individually , they can come back together in due time with fresh ideas & get recharged with probably even better if not greater future band material

Somemore , what I like about the guys is that unlike Johnny's , they openly communicate with fans on their own individual blogs & Twitter , so there's literally no secrets being kept & I respect that for them in being upfront honest & real

Which's something I don't get for other artistes I support but it's just me

primavera♥ 28th December 2012 05:07 PM

I miss listening to more j-pop and j-rock. Those were just really good times. Good music. A lot of my fav artists new music doesn't draw me in as much.

in a spoiler just incase someone gets offended over calling namie miserable again.

Spoiler:

Just because... Namie Amuro wishes everybody a miserable Christmas with "White light"

-title courtesy of randomjpop.blogspot.ca (http://randomjpop.blogspot.ca/2012/1...ro-wishes.html)

i saw the title and had to be revived from near death

then he wrote:
Only Namie Amuro would record a Christmas song and then shoot a video for it looking fed up, miserable and as though she is fresh out of *******s to give anybody. Not even her own child. I don't know how Namie did it, but by standing outside a strangers window looking like a p******e house burglar who is dead inside, she sold me Christmas. Nobody else could ever.

I'm literally having convulsions on the floor.
i can't breathe :laugh:laugh:laugh

i love how this guy constantly PRAISES her WHILE always mentioning the fact that she's always miserable + looks like she's suffering necrosis.

personally i love namie's music.

I hate it when I have to pay extra custom charges when buying expensive Japanese CDs. I had to pay extra 40 usd for one of my orders and it just sucks. It's like a slap in the face for ACTUALLY legally buying music rather than just downloading it and sticking to that. I mean, it sure as hell is not my fault that my country decided to import some random **** from America and other countries but does not import music that I enjoy listening to. It's like being kicked down for doing things legally. I know my country probably hates me because I'm spending "their" money overseas and that's why they do this to me, but COME ON.

Luckily they didn't charge me anything extra this time. If they would have done that, I probably would never order any Jpop CD again.

^ same here. It's really frustrating! When my copy of Rock'n'Roll Circus arrived I had to pay about £13 in customs x___x I'm guessing the charge is for buying things outside the country instead of spending it in your own, which is ironic considering I was gonna use the customs money to buy some CDs from my local HMV, and so couldn't.

Brown Eyed Girls being flawless goddesses.

AyusakiFan 12th August 2013 05:01 PM

My checking account will be completely wiped out this week due to HMV charging my account for the 3 Perfume tour blurays I preordered two months ago and the preorder I made on YesAsia for Girls' Generation's LE Tour bluray yesterday. Thank God I have other accounts or I'd be in trouble this week, lol. I just hope no other artist I buy from announce releases this week because I don't think my wallet could take another hit right now, lol.

KarenPang 13th August 2013 12:00 AM

For DAIGO to go on his 1st solo tour end of the year , let alone with it being a hall tour , it's saying a lot

And this also means there might be a high chance for him to release something new again , I'm hoping for an album x)

That said , even though BREAKERZ is currently on hiatus , I respect that each of them are still able to keep me interested in each of their solo projects

Also can't wait for AKIHIDE's 2nd album to get released in Autumn ! Amber is pure perfection , the BEST album of 2013 , hands down

harufi 13th August 2013 02:18 PM

Kuu's Beach Mix album came on my iPod whilst in the car with my Mum. I forgot how perfect it was for summer and driving around to :heart

Listening to BENI's Red and pleasasntly surprised. I've only paid attention to COVERS and COVERS2 and now I wanna check out her original stuff~

LOL

DAIGO is almost 5'10'' so yeah :P

KarenPang 21st August 2013 02:04 PM

My friend's going to be 1 of the lucky 5,555 people that will get a hug from DAIGO personally !

It's not just any ordinary hug but it's a Spacey Hug xD & no I'm not jealous :P

I truly am happy/thrilled for her as she has been such a great help to me in BREAKERZ's fandom for the past 3 years & she truly deserves this as so

hayasaki 23rd August 2013 02:50 AM

I hope HIKKI will get all through this. The U3 family is everywhere in tv today. :(

tokyoxjapanxfan 23rd August 2013 07:38 PM

Just randomly had these pop into my head:

Anyone remember this? lol

KarenPang 23rd August 2013 11:48 PM

I'm so intrigued to know why DAIGO has been in Paris for the past few days

Let alone , he's not alone . His eldest sister Eiki Eiki has tagged along too o_o . DAIGO did said it's for work purposes before he left but he didn't said where he was heading to

So I wonder hmm why so ? :confused

tokyoxjapanxfan 28th August 2013 09:33 AM

This song is amazing.

I've been waiting for it to be released in fulllll

KarenPang 3rd September 2013 12:22 PM

girl next door is going to disband end of the year :weep :(

I feel really upset/devastated as they have been 1 of the many other artistes I've followed/supported from their debut til now

And it's such a cruel irony for them to announce this today of all days as today been exactly 5 years since their debut single Guuzen no Kakuritsu was released D:

YuriChan 4th September 2013 07:55 PM

HOLY CRAP!! :thud

Mizuki Nana is coming to Singapore , wow

She + T.M Revolution doing a joint concert in my country in Nov , double wow

I need utada to come back and make a new album.
And I need ayaka to make a real album.
And Ayu to try to make a comeback of some sort.

KarenPang 9th October 2013 02:49 PM

KAT-TUN's Tanaka has left the group which's so shocking to me as I never expected this to happen to my most fave Johnny's group

Needless to say , I'm devastated & this's currently being the most talked about topic on the net , Japan wise

Goodbye JOKER , you will be missed :(

terra 26th October 2013 12:05 PM

Since I restored my iPod recently, I realized that there's small number of songs that I forgot to backup. One of them is from Eurasia404 titled Natsu no Shiori -epilogue- from a-nation '04 CD, I wonder where can I get that.

KarenPang 7th November 2013 12:15 PM

I won a pair of AFA concert tickets & the organiser gives me an option to choose in going for 1 of 3 dates for the event

I'm planning to go this Sun that will be a big day as T.M.Revolution & Mizuki Nana will be performing :thud

My god I'm not even a big fan of both of them but the fact that they're so big musically , that's saying a lot

And I thought seeing ARASHI's Sakurai in person when he came here to my country was big but looks like this weekend things are going to be amp up a lot !

NintendoHTF1242 7th November 2013 05:58 PM

I wish someone would translate MiChi's THERAPY and EYES WIDE OPEN albums.

tokyoxjapanxfan 9th November 2013 12:23 AM

Why aren't masterpieces like Nakashima Mika's LEGEND made anymore? Perfect video, perfect song, perfect cover... A prime example of when Jpop was on top of its game.

Hell yeah bro. J-Pop hasn't been good ever since...2010? Kana Nishino, Namie Amuro, and MiChi are the only saving graces for me at the moment

Kacku 13th January 2014 08:05 PM

I couldn't stand the wait anymore - I had to get DAISHI DANCE's new album, so I made myself an iTunes account. It felt a little like I sold my soul to Apple.

BEST. DECISION. EVER. God this album. :heart Best of 2013? I haven't made up my mind yet, but top 3 stuff easily.

I miss Crystal Kay :(

It's one of the biggest shames of jpop that Vivid didn't do better. Seriously. It's shameful.

Delicious n Bold 18th January 2014 06:25 PM

^ with a song like 'forever', the album should have been a SMASH.
But nope. She was just a fad :'(
She better release an English version of vivid and release it here.

Kacku 19th September 2014 05:15 PM

It's taken long enough, but finally 2014 has been blessed with an amazing album: YUKI's FLY! It's got everything, but it's not a mess at all. It's entertaining the whole way through. It has some insanely catchy songs. Recommended so hard! Everyone needs some Daredemo Lonely in their lives.

Discovered an amazing Korean singer known as Sohyang. One of the most vocally gifted singers I have come across since becoming a fan of Asian pop music. She is incredible!

Kacku 27th October 2014 06:38 PM

Yanaginagi has announced a new album, and I'm ecstatic! Her singles for this era have been even better than for the last album, some of the b-sides have also been awesome (You can count on me better be on the album), and apparently she's going to do the limited-edition-bonus-cover-songs-disc thing again! Feels good to be excited for an album again. :heart

KarenPang 28th October 2014 02:33 AM

No matter how much I criticise ARASHI , Japan still loves them

If not , why their latest album THE DIGITALIAN still can sell more than 660,000+ copies in the 1st week ? x)

Chiharo 28th October 2014 10:22 AM

I wish more people paid attention to lecca. It sucks not having people to discuss her music with. She does take some time to get into, but man is it worth it. Also, her vocals are probably my favorite from all the artists I listen to. Not to mention that a lot of her songs are quite different than usual Jpop songs, and all songs she composed have this unique lecca signature and they just sound so special.

NintendoHTF1242 28th October 2014 12:53 PM

I really wanted to buy JASMINE, Mika Nakashima, and Miliyah Kato's new releases... But priorities in life first. Ughhh I really wanted these limited editions too...
