So those covers were official after all. Someone posted them on last.fm and I wasn't sure if they were official or not. Good that's solved now and I didn't get a chance to get embarrassed. XD

Am I the only one who gets a TRICK vibe from these colorful covers? :D

I'm so glad I got the special edition, normally I'd get the CD+DVD and that's my least fave cover

The font choice and placement is pretty atrocious and I don't think it fits the overall theme of the photos... That being said, I love the picture used for CD+DVD, and the photobook one is nice too.

CD+DVD is amazing, but i don't like her face in the CD only.. the photo looks kind of "snapshot" ish for me idk.

Font placement is ugly as hell. But why do these gorgeous covers have to be for a cover album? I am disappoint.

Funny how there are two separate photoshoots for a damn cover album from Kumi but in Ayu's case it's one photoshoot at different angles for an ORIGINAL album... Lol.

I follow Kuu on and off, but whenever I come back to see what she's up to I'm always impressed. She's one of the few artists that consistently leave me excited about what they're doing and make me say, "This is awesome." Very rarely have I ever said, "This is ugly."

She looks absolutely GORGEOUS in the Koishikute picture in the first post, and I love love love this Color the Cover CD. I love the title, I love the colors, I love the theme, I love how she looks! :heart She doesn't seem to get worse over time, like so many other artists do. In fact, I think I'm more impressed with her this last year or so than I ever have been.

btw, have you guys seen this perfomance of T-ara's Soyeon covering Kumi's Cutie Honey? I liked! The instrumental is pretty nice, it's more energetic than Kumi's and I wish one day Kuu will rearrange CH to something like this.



EDIT: For those who were interested on the last thread about what happened to Get Up&Move!! PV back then, If I'm not wrong, Kumi shot a video teaching how to dance GU&M coreography and she released a (sort of) PV for the song but It's not a official PV.

But you can find on the internet some unused footage that some say It was supposed to be on GU&M PV (like those gifs of Kumi sitting in a chair wearing an outfit that resembles the doll outfit she wore on BUT PV). The GU&M video can be found on BEST ~BOUNCE & LOVERS~ I think.

In a nutshell, GU&M would get an official PV but for some reason I don't know It turn out to be a hot to dance video using multiple random scenes featuing Kumi dancing and singing the song with lots of people around her.

I'm not an expert on Kumi so please someone correct me If I said something wrong, 'cause I don't really remember the story that well.

^GU&M!! Pv is indeed on B&L and was the reason I bought it. and it IS an OFFICIAL FULL PV. there is also and how to dance version on the DVd alongside other PVs of her in an Dance Edit!

I like the Cutie honey instrumental that Soyeon used, but she was lacking energy and emotion imo. But then I dont know if she was alright and I though of her that way cause I'm used to super kid-energetic kuu on stage :laugh

The only thing I don't like about the covers: Kumi's boobs are covered by the font in the CD-only version. And that's my favorite one. The kiss mark makes it so hot. I love the name "Color the Cover". When I saw it in the title I thought, "That would make a great name for the album!". And then I was pleasantly surprised!

I love these covers. :D They're Kuu's most colourful in years, and they have so much energy to them. :love 'Color the Cover' makes sense as a title too as that is literally what she doing...from the previews so far, she is literally adding electro pop & energy and colour to all these classic songs. <3 The covers and title really makes you hype for the album, cause they basically tell you it's going to be a hot, colourful electro pop fest.

And that's my favourite kind of fest. <3

i mean, if u look at Pink Sider which is dark and rock... and then Kuu's version, which is bright & electro with chiptune elements!

I actually like the font personally. Using an electro-type font would be kind of cliché.

The font is a nice blend of whimsy and elegance.

I also like the font! I just don't understand why so many people are complaining about the placement of the text. It's ok for me.

Typography is an artform in itself. When I am creating graphic art, I will highlight my text and go through the list of fonts and make notes of all the ones I like for that graphic. Then I will go back and compare the ones I like, process of elimination, until I decide on the perfect one. Font is not just "text", it can make or break the entire composition.

For me the font itself is okay, but it's too big and overshadow the colorful pics a bit. At least it's white and not full of different colour shades

Yeah the placement is what really kill it. If it weren't smack in the middle the font itself wouldn't be too bad but the fact that it's right there and it's distracting from the photo and doesn't really fit the photo, it just looks strange.

Placement-wise, it works better on the CD+DVD version than the CD version. It's hard to read on the CD ver.; not to mention the o's in "Color" are hovering over her breasts, making it look slightly ridiculous.

But really, we're just nit-picking at this point. It's rare to see covers like these that have a strong concept and execution.

I think the font would look good embossed and literally bring the white text out of the colourful background, there's really nothing wrong with the font imo but it's just not very easy on the eye to have all those colors and then white text that kinda gets lost in them, especially the cover with lip prints on the background since it has white in it already. But yeah it's not a big deal anyway, just thought embossing would make it look more pro or something :yes

Well, the text is still okay for me. It works best on the CD+photobook version rather than on the CDOnly Version.

I like the font. Retro.

As for the placement. The thing is. I honestly don't know where else I'd put it.

Placing the font in such vibrance photos like that...is very challenging...i agree there is something not cool with the font and the positioning...but if i need to do it myself, i will be confuse as well....so i will received it as it is...although textless will looks better

lower right-hand corner for CD/CD+DVD and it might work in upper right-corner for CD+DVD as well.

I think the font fits the covers perfectly. I even think the placing is quite good. I would have only use dark shadows on the text so it would be seen better from the color bomb background but that's all. Otherwise I think these are gorgeous and I want a wallpaper of all of them asap♥

I was listening to some of the original songs that Kuu will cover on CtC and I noticed Dounimo Tomaranai has a bit of salsa [?] in it. You guys think Kuu will keep the song on this style? I'd love to see her singing a latin-ish song :love

I couldn't get into ETERNITY, except for the two that got PVs on Deja Vu (Megumi no Hito and BE MY BABY).

I love both when Kuu has those cohesive or varied albums <3 Cohesive feel so artistic and well-worked on, and varied just show us how wonderful she's in -almost- every music style

I've listened to all of Kuu's studio albums, but this made me want to listen to Eternity for the first time the other day. Megumi no Hito is amazing!

I love ETERNITY and the Billboard live she did,they're amazing, imho. sound like good classy jazz-like Kuu, I don't mind that. her voice is amazing for this style too, imo

I didn't mind the R&Bish style for almost every song on ETERNITY. Actually, I felt like I was in heaven because of that and you probably know why. XD But Megumi no Hito is pure gold. It's definitely my #1 favorite from that album♥

I love Kuu on small stages, sometimes even more than on arenas or domes. Probably ETERNITY and Dirty Ballroom are my favorite concerts of hers. They are both so different, yet so Kuu :laugh And it shows she does not need tons of special effects and back-up dancers to make an awesome concert, contrary to what some haters claim :innocent
