last Saturday i was watching ayu kouhaku from 2011-2012 on my bf house
we were 3 n my bf's friend is not familiar at all with Ayu not only ayu he's not into asian music

he kept on watching the show n said it was fantastic
i switch to ayu pv n it was step u pv
n suddenly he said
"does she get her nose done?"
he said he stare at ayu nose since kouhaku perf n said her nose is weird n looked it was done.
i just answer i dont know as far as i know ayu only done her teeth

n since that day i always stare at ayu nose

A lot of people question her eyes but I haven't heard read any speculations about her nose. It's possible the make up she had on made her nose look unnatural.

if she had anything done it was slight and it still looks natural on her so yay to whatever plastic surgeon did it. i've seen some really bad nose jobs that ruin whole faces. ayu's still got her cuteness :heart

All my Asia-born friends who know of Ayu, but aren't fans say "Oh, she's that popstar with all the plastic surgery, right?". Even if Ayu hasn't had anything done, she apparently still looks like she has. Some of my friends claim that "it so obvious. She just looks like she's had surgery!".

imo, Ayu's face does often look different. Just look at all her magazine covers. I think, though, that its mostly just the tons of editing and photoshop they use on her face, plus makeup.

I actually think her nose is one of her facial features that you can actually argue she hasn't changed.

It looks pretty much the same to me.
I think it is really the angle that she posing that changes it a bit.

I don't know. Looking to her pre-debut pictures I don't think she did, but who knows... I don't really care if she did one or not.

Human nose is growing our entire life time, it never stops. That's why old people have big bulky noses. I don't think she had her nose done.. but something else probably. Botox or something similar smaller operation

When I was in Japan we visited some friends of my friend - ladies around the age of 30. One of them was an acupunctur. And we were talking about how she had treated koda kumi once. And then we discussed how it would be to treat other Asian celebs, and she said "I wouldn't know what to do if I had to treat Ayumi, I mean, she's all plastic, where am I supposed to put the needles!" And then they all laughed and agreed. Everyone in Japan "knows" she has done plastic. And a lot of it

She has probably done her eyes and her teeth but all these rumors come from her image in magazines/endorsements/publicities etc... ! She looks often different a magazine to another lol

I'm not surprised that people think she has done tons of surgery because they believe that pictures are the reality ...

well there's proof she's using basic beauty trics to get double eyelids - TAPE or whatever other things Japan has. There was some screencaps from her i think PoM encore where she, being who she is, actually cried off one of the eyelids, it was clearly visible lol and her eyes hadn't changed much. japanese know how to do make-up and add circle lenses to that....:innocent also knowing how much japan loves overly photoshopped magazines, really....

this whoile plastic surgery thing will always bring controversy cuz none knows how it is for real.

Not saying this is true of Ayu and/or Gackt, but sometimes nose jobs don't always make the nose perfect. I follow a blogger named Xiaxue, who is very open and honest about her two nose jobs. She had two because the first one didn't look all that great when it was done. It was crooked, for one.

And kimmeh's story is kinda like mine. A lot of people just kinda assume that she's had a lot of work done. You bring up the subject of Ayu and all you get is "Oh, that plastic chick!!"

It's sad because a lot of other popular J-pop singers have also done things in their faces and more obvious than on Ayu... But it's not a big deal we will never know lol

ayu was such a natural beauty back then, well at least to me, a lot of guys would have said "meh nothing special" but they don't realize a lot of what they are used to is makeup and surgery.

For sure though something is being done to her lips these days. and not for the better mind u.

ayu is such a beautiful lady, I don't want her to botch up her face with too much plastic, like megan fox did. She was gorgeous, and now she is looking like the poster face of plastic surgery. I don't really care if megan botches up her face though. It's not her face I have look at when I buy singles and albums.

anyways, surgery is fine as long as it still looks natural and enhances what you already have. (k-pop stars are masters of this) ayu was doing just fine until this lip epidemic. (fish lips don't help the matter) lol

I agree with mizuki-7, I mean, look at her debut pictures, she looks the same! A lot younger, but not at all that different.

She clearly removed the fat bags under her eyes (something A LOT common in asia) and fixed her teeth. Other than that, if she did any plastic it was something small... the rest I believe is pure photoshop that makes she look like a fake porcelain doll.

^i believe she still has those, you can't quite see them in her pics cus cuz they photoshop that, but in videos and live performances they're very visible.

To be honest, did she ever really have enough time to recover from a big operation? Did she ever have weeks if not months free for recovery from a nose job? Ever since she started she's been busy as hell, I seriously don't think she had or has enough time for big procedures :shrugs

I wouldn't doubt the eyelid procedure which takes not very long but she would've had scars or stitches whenever she did it if she actually did it.

I think that she's doing botox, behind the ears and so on, not putting in risk her facial expressions because that would make her look very weird when she's at concerts, etc.

And the lips... seriously it's just the magic of money: expensive products that we probably haven't even heard of, and photoshop.

Some here tend to forget, that people are changing over time. Gaining or losing weight can do wonders to a face.
And Ayu has professional make-up.
Well..maybe she has done something. Does it really matter? She still looks amazing :)

The thing is that when she takes all the makeup off, she looks like a normal Japanese woman. Most people who have work done tend to look really... off when they have no makeup on.

Unfortunately, her large eyes in most photos taken for magazines/promotion are essentially the main reason why people think she has had so much surgery. The thing is... when would she have had time to do this? In her heyday, she had like no time to heal!

i can say she had her eye lids, eye bags, and lips done. i'm sure she does botox too. her face looks fuller at times. but when you're tired, your eyes sink in and they look more hollow, so yea she may have her days where she looks odd.

as for her nose. WTH WHY THIS AGAIN? i know she isn't 100% natural, heck no. but when it comes to her nose, folks, I REALLY DON'T SEE THE DIFFERENCE in all the years i've followed her since 1999. everything else, yes, but the nose, i never noticed anything changing about it. *facepalm* y'all just cray cray or what?

i think her nose didn't changed at all. her skin got thinner esp on the cheek area, well because of her age i think. lips got fuller but everything can be done in photoshop and makeup and it varies depending on the artist who will do the makeup and edit the photos. it happens to me most of the time so I only trust 1 makeup artist and 1 photographer so my face wont look different on photos.

Well, I know at the end of the day she looks like a Japanese woman, what else would she look like? What I was trying to say was that from cover to cover she often looks like a different person. In fact, she never looks like anything but an Japanese woman to me, just a different Japanese woman each time. I was saying maybe her constantly different appearance was what led people to think she's had something done, but I just think that is was photoshop/editing. Although, I do think she's at least had fillers done, like on her lips. Those don't last, though.

I still don't get why her facial features are still under scrutiny. If you look at her earlier pictures, she's always had big eyes and a wide facial structure. After 15 years in the industry, it's obvious she used the lip plumping gloss or botox maybe. But makeup can do WONDERS for the face, even on YouTube people literally transform with the use of makeup, eyelashes, and contacts. The most "surgery" I seen her get was her teeth fixed (we all want that perfect smile :D).

But seriously, like many of you said Ayu had one of the most demanding schedules during her career, especially during her peak. She was known to pass out from exhaustion, performing live sick, and even went as far to hold off IMPORTANT MEDICAL situations (ex. her ear) so she wouldn't have to cancel a performance. So please elaborate on how she could put off a few weeks for her nose or whatever plastic surgery that needs extensive healing time when she wouldn't put time off for her well being?

(But then again, I don't live her life but I just wanted to put my two cents in :innocent)

Just because gossip magazines are promoting "botox" and the like doesn't necessarily mean Ayu and other singer make use of such options. Perhaps she has a herpes or an allergic reaction around her lips every now and then which possibly leads to fancy and fuller looking lips?

Also a lot of girls just Naturally age beautifully.

Asia is especially crazy when it comes to transforming faces with make-up, they're masters pretty much, with ll the naturally looking false lashes, lenses, eyelid glue and bb creams and god knows what else, not to mention they mastered the art of shadows on the faces, to create whatever shape they want, and the WIGS! oh, the wigs. I have one of them and people who saw pic with it were like "you have nice hair" and i was like "that's a wig lol" you can hardly see a difference from real hair. I personally think it's kind of admirable that they are quite creative tho on the other hand it might be a bit too much. But i've seen very nice natural looking make-up versions with fake stuff, and i gotta say i usually love them xD

Eyes? No. Thats illusion of a very professional make up job. Video some tutorials and you will see females turn their naturaly thin eyes into huge puffy looking glowing eyes.

Teeth? Yes. Its just obvious

Breasts? Only when she does that stupid Walcoal fake bra campaign promotion which I dont agree with. Whats the point really?

Nose? I dont care about her nose. If yes than yes, if no than no.

Rest? Her wardrobe and style changes alot. MS Paint can do unfair amounts of wonders.

I've been listening to Ayumi squeak my ears off for a very long time now I hope to for the rest of my life. Her trance remixes are just that good :)

.. It`s pretty much known that many japanese and korean artists get some sort of plastic surgery.. Personally, I don`t look at ayu any differently if she did or didn`t.. However,.. my opinion is that she had her eyes done, and slightly thinned the bridge of her nose done somewhere after the mid 2000s... I wouldn`t be surprised if she had a small lip injection either, but really, if she did get all this done, I think it was done very well and gradual..

She had tons of activities started at 1999, i wonder how she managed to do a plastic surgery?

And she already have a huge eyes and 'surgery' nose back at 1998 (just look at poker face PV)

who cares ? she s beautiful and looks so natural. So many stars have done plastic surgery and looked alike or not unique at all. Ayu s beautiful not just because of her appearance, that s the reason.

Because that's how you sell bras. Bigger boobs are considered sexier by most people, and girls will be more likely to buy a bra that promises bigger boobs. Ayu is friends with a lingerie designer. Simple :)

The craziest I've ever seen her nose was in the Next Level PV. I don't know what was going on there.

I used to vehemently deny that she's ever had plastic surgery, but now I accept that she likely has. Doesn't make a difference to me, anyway.

she doesnt seem like she had, to me it's just the way those Japanese make up so crazy that enlarge your freaking eyes, and also her nose did not seem like she had surgery either. maybe just some minor surgeries to make her nose look better a little bit.

And to be on topic: I think Ayu didn't do anything about her nose, always been the same.

It may just be make up, but I reckon she's had lot of work done. She still looks great though. I think she's gone the Madonna/Britney route and had a lot of barely noticeable surgeries over the years to subtly refine her look/avoid aging.

I dont know but I dont see anything different with her faces, just her make up to make full lips these days, I really hate that ~.~
