girl next door (ガール・ネクスト・ドア), written previously as GIRL NEXT DOOR (2008-2011) ,is a three member Japanese pop-rock group with a predominantly electronic sound from Tokyo. Signed with avex trax, the band was formed in June of 2008 to commemorate the label's 20th anniversary. They debuted three months later with their single "Guuzen no Kakuritsu". They are also known colloquially as GND and Girl Next (ガルネク).

On 3rd Sept 2013, it was announced on their website that they will be disbanding end of the year & be holding their final live concert together as a trio on 8th Dec at Tokyo's SHIBUYA-AX.

Sigh , never would have thought this would happen but today (exactly 5 years since their debut single Guuzen no Kakuritsu was released) , it was announced on their website that they will disband end of the year :weep :(

They will hold their final live concert together as gnd on 8th Dec at Tokyo's SHIBUYA-AX titled girl next door LIVE THE LAST

And on 20th Nov , they will release 3 different separate best albums , all titled girl next door THE LAST in front

Honestly I'm not surprised by the news as they haven't been performing that well on Oricon since Destination onwards ?

But still , I can't help but feel really upset/devastated as they have been 1 of the many other artistes I've followed/supported from their debut til now & such a cruel irony for them to announce this today of all days D:

I do hope Chisa will be able to launch some solo career after this but since she's getting married , I have no idea :x , let alone for the other 2 too

And it's a big slap to Daisuke as it's the 2nd time he has been in an avex group which will be disbanding & it's like deja vu all over for him I'm sure

All in all , I wish all 3 of them the best of luck after they part ways end of the year T_T

Can't say I'm surprised, bit it is kind of sad. I always feel this way when a group disbands.

But they were one of the first singles I purchased upon arriving in Japan 5 years ago so they still hold a special place in my heart.

I wonder if they'll release any new songs on THE LAST?

This is so weird to me. I've been watching them since they debuted. Granted; they fell off after NEXT FUTURE for me. But I wish them all the best.

Honestly, I'm not surprised about that news. GND tried to changed their image & it failed. You can clearly see that the band went to nowhere for last years! It's sad because their debut was really nice & full of hope regarding their music!

Thats so sad, became a fan when I was in Japan.

I'm kinda sad, they have really good songs. Sadly i was expecting this.

I'm kind of sad about this. But I shouldn't be surprised, especially about (what someone said earlier) their lackluster performance... :(

And frankly I'm still debating if I should get it as for now I'm not so keen on the contents for all 3 editions of girl next door THE LAST

Luckily I didn't buy Single Collection as that was such a total waste of a release

No offense but even though I've been a fan of them since day 1 , the whole thing looks really badly put together + doesn't help that I feel URBAN DANCE looks terribly cheap :no

avex , I know gnd is going to disband end of the year but couldn't you at least give them a proper final farewell 'send off' instead of doing this ? D:

Wow to include ALL album tracks and singles? What a rip-off for fans from the start.

They did it to day after tomorrow when they disbanded, I think it's more Daisuke's doing IMO...but ewww...they put the Destination Digest on there too? ugh.

I don't really have any motivation to get their final release especially since I have all their studio albums :x

And I guess the carrot that's dangling that might make me get either 1 edition would be for URBAN DANCE but something tells me the PV itself ain't worth it D:

I'm loving URBAN DANCE. Need the full song in my life right now.

Yet at the same time, I'm sad because this is gonna be the last GND song ever.

Do you guys think I'll be able to nab a copy of the entire collection release? I know it's first press but I don't have $210 to drop at the moment but I'll be glad to wait like, two days after it's released to drop money on it :x Or should I just try my best to pre-order it? But I'm a broke-ass bitch ugh life is so hard

from where are you planning to order it? CDJ might run out (even though I doubt so) but as far as I can see, it's already gone on HMV and amazon jp.. Yesasia still has it though.
What you could do is pre-order it using a credit card with another item that's released in let's say December, cancel the other item you don't really want whenever you want and there you go. lol I used that trick a couple of time, it works fine you just have to be make sure you cancel at least a week before the release of the second item so you don't end up having to pay for the second item as well coz it's in shipping process early..

URBAN DANCE is not bad & I like the scenes of them in the colourful background , who knew Chisa looks surprisingly good having corn rows in her hair haha

Too bad I wouldn't be getting their final release since I have all their studio albums but I couldn't help but notice a tinge of sadness in their eyes in the PV :(
