It's specifically for recochoku's digital album charts. And of course, they never show numbers so unforunately we will not know the digital sales.

I hate be a buzz kill but I think it was mostly due to the fact it received a huge price cut on the site, like it was for 1,500 yen only on the month of august.
Still, it's cool since it encouraged people to buy it, I just wish that site would she actually numbers and sales figures. or certifications, so that we can now how much it sold exactly. |

I don't think the discount doesn't make the return less amazing, but neither is insignificant. There's a huge difference between "omg it's summer I miss ayu I'll look for her songs to buy" and "Oh, there's that ayu compilation with many amazing songs and at that price! It's a must-get". Still, impressive she made it to #2.
Just makes me think of how pityful it is there was no new summer song this year ]: She didn't release a summer song in her 10th as well, but still... |
