Back on to the topic of Utada smoking, somebody had tweeted @u3music with a pic of Utada taking a draw from a cigarette and asked if it was true. The response was yes, when she was younger and careless. I'm assuming that means she doesn't do it now.

I thought that was one of Hikki's outfit from UTADA UNITED. Hikki always love dresses with big designs on top as much as ayu loves gigantic gowns. I love them both when they're wearing those.

Okay. A lot of Ayu's recent pictures me of the Koda. But idk.

I think Ayu just goes with trends, and her mag shoots always reflect it. I can't tell you how many times I saw a shoot of hers look just like ones RINKA already did.

But it's Japan, and it's small, and they tend to all...focus each other.

I just saw the pictures in question. I actually really liked them and I'm overtly critical of her recent photoshoots. I did see some influence from other singers, but it wasn't done badly.

Her dad is the one that runs the @u3music twitter account. He seems to be on a roll answering various questions about Utada at the moment. A lot of the posts are in Japanese though...

He did post recently though that the 'In The Flesh' release is just a random release and that it's not for her 15th anniversary, also she will return to the music industry at some point.

Her image is quite similar to hikki (well in the article her father was hikki's hair stylist rite...?), and not to mention that Miyake Akira is the one producing Kaho. Even her voice has a tiny hint of hikki. Well all I can predict that is either she will be bombed in the beginning, or she will be popular for the first two years, then starts sink rite after (Mai K is a good example).

Edit: Oops... I forgot about Ayaka. :P Yeah she didn't survive long enough to be a legend as well.

As much as I love the beginning, the rest of ayaka's material as of late has been questionable. How can you go from a flawless album to forgettable junk?

I find it funny that people are complaining that people won't compose a song because the hiring company don't want to pay her price. Really, she doesn't release music to make you guys happy or because she is a gift sent by God to make the world a magical place... She releases music because it's HER JOB. And if she is one of the top artists on the 2nd biggest music market on the world, she can ask her price... If companies with less economic power can pay her, Disney can too.

^You're right, but it doesn't change the fact that we want her to do it and will be disappointed if she doesn't.

^I doubt Disney can't pay her price if Gainax or Japanese tv-stations can. They may be really offering a ridiculously low amount.

Anyway, 9 years ago this week, Devil Inside was topping the Billboard Dance charts! Ugh <3 I miss her so much. Whenever I ponder her (hopeful) eventual return to the US market also, I am very pleased to remember that EMI will be handling those future releases also. Do you guys think she will continue to keep the Japanese and English releases separate or do you think she'll say screw it and do bilingual albums??

They kinda have the grounds to do that. Disney has been milking the shit out of those two first songs with all of their commercials and everything. AND the instrumentals are tied to the composition.

There's a shit load of negotiations to happen there.

off topic but i just listened to the new girl Kaho since she's everywhere in the news lately and i think i have come to like her! LOL Her voice is deeper than Hikki's but when I tried to play her song on a higher key, she sounded a bit like her. But i swear, i feel like Kaho and Hikki has got similar techniques on their BG vocals. I really felt like Hikki is also singin with her through the BG vocals of the song! LOL i wonder if hikki mentors kaho secretly. I wanna watch that girl more

Utada never says anything on work-related subjects... This way she saves all the hating for her dad.

This is not being bitter, this is everyday marketing. Your team (and her dad is part of her team) do the dirty stuff so you keep your image clean. Utada is probably as aware of the money aspects of her career as her dad is, but she won't take the front on any controversial aspect of it, as japanese people hate their celebrities being controversial.

Beyoncé's father did the same for the most of her career for example, and most popstars have their managements taking jabs alone for decisions the stars themselves were probably part of. I'm not saying Hikki is a mean bitch or that she is using her father, he is pretty aware of what his role is on her career.

The one good thing about Island Def Jam was how they handled her remixes for her singles. They always put together a great package. I was looking through them the other day. I forgot I even had a couple of very rare official ones for 'Come Back To Me' and 'Dirty Desire'.

Regardless, I really am confident that she'll do the KH3 song. Like come on bitch, if you're not bored and/or just ready to go into the studio to do one song, then just do it for the fans! lol

Utada singing the KH3 theme song is enough for me to go buy the game.
