Btw it will probably be able to get #2 tops because #1 is FUNKY MONKEY BABY'S (which were very popular on recent years).

that is kinda hard but not impossible... her last CDL dvd only reached 14k on its first week, tho HLS Tour was able to sold 20k, PoM sold only 14k copies, so we can figure out something around 14~20k.


btw i wonder why do people who buy ayu's video releases prefer the dvd instead of bd, this rarely happen to anime (the blu-ray usually sells a lot more than the dvd).

Probably because her (jpop in general) blu-rays are so expensive...

Blu-rays are more expensive and it's seems that all music visual releases still sells better on DVD format.

the anime blu-rays cost around 7k iene, so it's kinda the same... and only contains 2 episodes... they sell a lot more than dvds... look at Shingeki no Kyojin numbers (the most succesful anime of this years' spring-summer).

Anime fans have transitioned to Blu-ray, haha. Not so much the case for music lovers.

It's because Ayu fans are nostalgiac about old times and the early 2000s, which is why they still only have DVD players and listen to Ayu in 2013 :lech

I think it's about the demographic. With anime it's maybe largely male collectors who would want to buy the 'better' version which is blu-ray. For singers, many are casual fans who would be satisfied with a cheaper product but still decent quality.

you got a point but you can't exclude female fans from this, since it's them who actually buy stuff from a lot of bi-shounen, josei and shoujo animes =) (this year Free! is driving Japanese girls crayzay over the goods and that is making every video release hit the top of the charts).

I think it just had a bad release timing... would have definitely hit number one otherwise. It helps that FUNKY MONKEY BABYS is pretty much disbanding.

Could someone show a screencap difference between the DVD and Blu-ray? Is that possible?

I don't know... the rips we have are all from the BD. Does anyone have both right now?

Oh! Really!
I was actually just going to go to the store to buy the DVD, but everybody's hating on it. :P On the other hand, I have no Blu-ray player, and the DVD's stabbing me in the wallet quite enough...

Nah, I don't think anyone is hating on it, it's just because the BD is the 'best' quality for concerts. You can see her every sweat droplet and pore, haha. I don't know if that's what everyone wants though, so if all you have is a DVD player, go for it!

It also helps that anyone can watch them because her BDs are region free (I think) as with most avex BDs.

The anime blu-ray is still #1 but it fell on general dvd chart lol, our friend here was right that anime blu-rays are prefered.

Yes, some anime BDs may sell like 40,000 in the first week while the DVD only sells maybe 10,000 at most, haha.

i want this go up to position 1, at least for one day

The blu-ray dropped to #6 because of some anime and new anime blu-rays BUT on the good note, Funky Monkey dropped to #7 on the blu-ray so ayu passed them there today.

Nice charting 'till now... I've got some expectations about this, since the CD Live sold so unexpectedly well!

ayu got the second position on General DVD Charts with 14,063 copies sold (adding "DVD+Photobook" + "DVD Only"). FUNKY MONKEY BABYS, wich got the top, sold 31,968 copies.

Actually it is 9585 copies for the DVD+photobook and 4478 copies for the DVD, so in total the DVD has sold 14,037 copies

Great but quite uncomfortable with this number. This is ayu's 15th anniversary dvd, and I used to believe that it would got over 30000 in the first week.
Anyway, congratulations to ayu

It was a pretty stable week for ayu afterall with quite oscillations, the DVD and Blu-ray combined must be around 20k, final sales will figure around 30k.

we must be now focused on taking that single to the top!!

Probably the photobook version helped making people more interested in this release..

yeah... and their last single 友　∼旅立ちの時∼ (tomo -tabidachi no toki-), released on Sept. 18th, debuted with 28,441 copies sold and reached 3rd place on Oricon Weekly. Current sales figure around 39,765 copies. What do you guys think? Tough competition?

Wonder if she will appear on TV in December. More promo + no scandals, we can get the single to #1 :D

The single could get #1 easily if they did nice promotions, but since they don't promote Ayu's releases as they should then we can only hope it'll do well on the rankings... Even with no promotion she can still get #1, but I think it won't be easy...

again (the mini-album / single) sold 34,402. I feel this is going to sell less. Honestly i'm not expecting a 1st peak for ayu.

It pretty much killed both again and LOVE again's sales, I think. There was so much Maro on those two releases... I mean, we'll see when this CD comes out.

And TeamAyu... I'm not sure about the usercount. Maybe somewhere in the 10-20k range? I know that it had been going down for a few years but there's probably a way to figure it out that I haven't thought of, haha. I remember knowing a more exact number a while back but I cannot recall it right now or source it.

It's typical in the idol world when a singer gets caught with a girlfriend/boyfriend

Her japanese audience got annoyed about seeing Maro even on the cover of "again" and all the hype that media created around him. Japanese fans dont even like to know that their idol is dating, it's like losing a part of the idol to someone who doesn't care at all.

I'm really curious for the sales.
And poor again, it has really good songs, now i hope ayu doesn't include her new boyfriend

I remember she did post something on her TA blog some years ago celebrating the 70k members mark. It was very long ago though, so it probably shortened a lot seeing how her sales are nowadays. Although her shows are always crowded, so maybe they just gave up on her physical releases.

50,000 is a strech, most wanted it to sell 30,000 and it still might if it sells over 1,000 for the next two weeks.

yeah, 30k is possible =) and i'm already happy since the blu-ray already crossed 10k.

So sad, the artist era has gone . in the Idol era, the artists are difficult to show their abilities now! I can understand the above number now

the sales aren't that bad actually ^^' btw i think the high prices in media are a great factor on these decreasing sales (in Brazil for example the price of the blu-ray limited edition equals 1/3 of a minimum wage and that is A LOT), and also the lack of interest in physical stuff, since we usually prefer to stream online...

DVDs tend to have legs... could be 49k~ before it falls out completely.

I honestly cant remember if I ordered this or not. I have to go back and check, lol.
