From the past thread, I dont think Ayu's that healthy.... well, maybe she's healthy but she sure as fuck isn't fit all the time! Her weight fluctuates every so often and she once confessed she gained like 20 pounds from eating a bunch of chocolate....

For real? :roflmao Well, I like how her body can look thin in July and bam gain weight in August.

Deibel 24th November 2013 11:02 AM

Well, she's a human, I guess! And those moments of 'I'm so healthy', like when she used to running a bunch of km, comes from the fact that she must be on shape for touring, 'cause it requires so much energy.

Also, she likes to drink and smoke (at least in the past), and that's totally unhealthy. I'm sure that If she were just a normal girl, she would be more curvy.

Anyway, chubby or thin, she's always beautiful.

jiarongisme 24th November 2013 11:03 AM

Ayu's always the fittest when she's touring/performing - rightfully so. Her arm did look SLIGHTLY bigger than say, the Feel the love PV off-shot but I believe it's because it's just squished against her body? And then there's the whole angle of photo thing too.

ComatoseBunnySnatcher 24th November 2013 11:11 AM

^ she looks stunning in that last pic.

Yeah, lol. It was between the 2006 calendar shoot and a-nation 06. I also think she was out for a bit (might have been prior to JEWEL's first performance) due to an eye injury, so maybe she was in bed gobbling to her heart's content? :P

Larien 24th November 2013 01:47 PM

Good grief, everyone needs to calm down. If I press my chin closer to my neck with my hand, my skin is going to fold up on itself, too. Her arm probably is pressed against her body--from what I can see, it looks like she's very skinny.
(Just imagine someone taking one photo of yours from Facebook at random and trying to deduce your weight from it. Basically, I feel that one photo is not necessarily a fair piece of evidence from which to judge. ;) )

ComatoseBunnySnatcher 24th November 2013 02:07 PM

^Shall we have a debate over how many eyes she has instead?
I don't think her weight really matters, but nobody is being hostile or mean about it. Plus, we're bored!

Yes, I feel that last statement is pretty much the whole reason I even talk on here. Boredom. Curiosity. Ayu is a good person to talk about when I get bored. XD

asmAyumi1992 25th November 2013 09:00 AM

LOL at everyone's posts. :rofl

truehappiness 27th November 2013 01:20 AM

She must be back in Japan. CDL rehearsals have begun!

YUKARI 27th November 2013 02:15 AM

if she's in Japan, I want her to start promoting the sinle on TV&radio!

tokyoxjapanxfan 27th November 2013 07:12 AM

Since feel the love is CDTVs opening theme...
I feel like she should go on and sing it.

truehappiness 27th November 2013 07:24 AM

CDTV usually has that COUNTDOWN special, right?

stivenoto 27th November 2013 10:20 AM

Feel the love pv is awesome and so much fun..

really something fresh..

Watched it on ayu's youtube and its full version

Agreed. Then again, this is how I feel that any topic on a forum should be handled. As long as no one is being rude, I don't see an issue in discussing any topic related to Ayu. Why else join a forum? :P

I just love her outfit so much in the new PV. omg can she dress like this more often?

truehappiness 28th November 2013 12:14 AM

The outfit with the LA hat, right?

ayu-michan 28th November 2013 12:22 AM

^ You mean the one when she's just dancing with DJ Hello Kitty in the background? I loved it, I like energetic Ayu more than Ayu trying to be sexy.

He's a guy who covered Depend on you in English a few years ago. https://www.facebook.com/BentleyJonesMusic

Would love to see him do something for Ayu as he is a brilliant composer!

BlackSilence 28th November 2013 05:38 PM

^^ he seems to be an English producer/songwriter/arranger/remixer/etc. he debuted under EMI Music Japan label, as of now supposedly a recording artist under his own label or something, so lol yeah pretty much Timmy #2 xD he sounds a lot like timy too xD

^THIS i actually like (minus the electro stuff in it, but it doesn't bother me as much since the instsrument parts are pretty epic)

he's indeed not bad.

ayumisrael 28th November 2013 05:40 PM

Wow that's awesome!! He's so lucky ayu liked his Depend on you version XD (even though it was some years ago) and now he gets to help her with a new song. Happy for him.

I'm glad ayu's into making -a lot of- up beat stuff. I missed it for years.

Surreal17 28th November 2013 05:48 PM

Really glad that ayu is starting to work with new composer.Hoping for something different!
edit: his depend on you cover is really good. just checked him out..

truehappiness 28th November 2013 07:12 PM

Ooo, nice! Super Western album coming up?

I had a dream I heard Pray and met Ayu. It was... strange.

Of course I will listen all my loBely's opinions anytime. But thing is that you all haven't seen the real ending yet. Don't worry ;)
so, who went on and ranted over that video to Ayu directly??? lol

actually i do hate when people do that, but i guess critisism is ok as long as it's not pure hate.

mizuki-7 28th November 2013 11:48 PM

^
I read some nasty comments toward her in twitter directly addressed to her...like usual people prefer to criticize before seeing the whole thing ...

jbrat2219 28th November 2013 11:54 PM

I hope no one was disrespectful...

BlackSilence 28th November 2013 11:57 PM

^^i mean i don't like the video, but i'm not gonna go shove that into her face like she comited a crime or something. I hate when people throw their negativity or dislike so bluntly at the artists, if they can't express themselves in a non-nasty way then i'd rather they don't do that at all.

ayu-michan 29th November 2013 12:01 AM

^ I find it really annoying and bull when people do that. Negative comments are fine, since everyone has their own opinions, but sometimes people just go overboard.

Now the more reason for haters to assume Ayu is flopping even more, when they haven't seen the real ending yet.

BlackSilence 29th November 2013 12:07 AM

^that's what i'm talking about, i've seen people going overboard with their "opinions" directly to her numerous of times. But people take everything she does as if it's her last and most importaint. I mean i am not a fan of this whole single at all, i thing it's a total crap apart from stunning cover photos, but really we still have stuff comming up to look farward to so why not to do that instead of throwing our "opinions" at her every time we dislike something so much.

i mean think how many had to tweet that to her for her to feel the need to address this....o_O good thing she's such a lady.

Quote:

The msg is how we feel about ourselves or have confidence after we have tried something really hard or serious- no matter what ppl think
now she feels the need to give away te explanation beforethe whole thing is even out.

Yuniz_hime 29th November 2013 12:11 AM

"The msg is how we feel about ourselves or have confidence after we have tried something really hard or serious- no matter what ppl think."

And now she explained the message from the PV

jbrat2219 29th November 2013 12:20 AM

More from Ayu:

Quote:

Most important thing is, She's fun and full of life, and her confidence shines, she feels beautiful herself <3 <3 <3

truehappiness 29th November 2013 12:31 AM

I love how Ayu just confirmed everything that we speculated on.

And the trigger was probably Aura.

it is Aura who tweeted her with a long message, plus, Ayu followed Aura so its easy for Ayu to read what she tweeted, she and few other Spanish fans are in her friend list.

Aura's tweet : http://www.twitlonger.com/show/n_1rsf9jf

relmy 29th November 2013 02:20 AM

Aura's tweet was perfect, and I think proves that people criticising the video aren't doing it to 'hate' or be dramatic. I don't think anyone would doubt Aura's fan 'credibility'.

truehappiness 29th November 2013 02:26 AM

I thought she pretty much said what people had been mentioning in that other thread... nothing too different, really.

maikaru 29th November 2013 04:06 AM

I absolutely loved that Ayu tweeted the "Keep Calm and Feel the Love" image.
She's on top of that pop-culture like crazy. LOL. http://twitpic.com/dmxo98

And so glad that there's more coming.

truehappiness 29th November 2013 04:09 AM

Yeah, thankfully Ayu-Angel/Linza-mo made it! Haha.

emi♡ 29th November 2013 04:31 AM

whew. Well I'm glad that people weren't ranting to her about it O_O

Aura always does things respectfully and in very good taste.

SURREAL__RAINBOW 29th November 2013 04:42 AM

Aura explained it perfectly. We need more people referring to ayu like that, explaining things without ranting and being disrespectful. That's the only way she'll listen and reply like she did this time.

truehappiness 29th November 2013 04:46 AM

Well, the main reason why she replied was probably because it was Aura, first and foremost.

ayuuk 29th November 2013 07:00 AM

^Why did some people say Ayu follows Aura's Twitter? I didn't see her following Aura. And how come they know each other??

AyUmIXx 29th November 2013 07:23 AM

^ aura is one of ayu's friend-list, ayu put some international fans on her twitter list, and aura met ayu in London.

Ayu made her friend list private now,so we cant see it

like someone said, she met Ayu in London, she and few others were the very first few who first met her,it was a big news back then, everyone envied ans inspired by their story of meeting Ayu ahahha, they even popular among the Japanese fans, plus, the most important thing, Ayu is the one who gave to Ayu the book A World is One made by AHSers, so its like a great memory for her to know that she got fans from all over the world, :D

I think this Aura person might have meant well, but its clear that he/she might have taken the issue personally because -though the message has been stated here and is a less than ideal caricature -that message is NOT neutral. Its pretty aggressive.

Ayu has a list of people she 'follows' that was public for a while. There were people like Beyonce and Britney Spears on there in addition to a handful of overseas fans.

that's what i've thought when i've read it. I did think it was rather agressive as well.

as of the following stuff, she actually only FOLLOWS like 8 people now, all the overseas fans and other cebs are in her "friends" list that she "don't follow it", if you check the Lists section on her page you can see the "Friends" one there without a problem. She probably still reads if she notices someone fammiliar in her mentions like in this case possibly happened.

Linza-mo 29th November 2013 08:54 AM

Yes Aura 's message was very calm, clear and honest and that's why a lot of people had share it! (even if I haven't exactly the same feeling about this PV) :)

It's great that's Ayu takes the time to explain herself, I'm very surprised and glad...God everyday I love her more and more, it's crazy lol

Really ?? she had tweeted it ?? ha ha ! I haven't see it at this moment ! great ! =D

emi♡ 29th November 2013 09:00 AM

I don't think it's as aggressive as it is honest.

How are you supposed to create a completely neutral message about something that you dislike...when you're expressing your dislike.

Linza-mo 29th November 2013 09:10 AM

Huuum it express a negative feeling of course, but I don't feel any aggresivity on it, but well, as the PV and everything in the world, it depends on the person who watch/read/listen it, I guess =)

Well, now I hope this controversy is end and...I WANT MERRY-GO-ROUND PV ! ;___;

truehappiness 29th November 2013 09:11 AM

The Merry-go-round PV should have a lot of Ayu in it.

Though I am a bit worried that it has like one second of Ayu.

Minttulatte 29th November 2013 10:15 AM

Aura's tweet wasn't rude or aggressive at all to me. I wish all those other people who tweeted Ayu rude comments saw that and felt ashamed for a while. Seriously. :/

ayu_fantasy 29th November 2013 10:22 AM

Well, basically, what aura did was pretty offensive... Of course, ayu would have to remain logical and calm as she's a professional artist... Oh man! This is just a pv! Not some sensitive political issue which would stir big trouble... Ayu is just showing a fun loving bouncy pv....

And aura, if you are reading this, I would like to tell you, everyone have different perspective of viewing things... So it's kind of disrespectful to bring up stuff like that... You can have your way of thinking, but it's better to keep some words to yourself.

It's so sad how ayu have to even explain herself. She must be feeling really sad. True fans don't go round telling you that your work is wrong.. Ayu didn't even meant to ridicule anyone in the first place

AyuWorld 29th November 2013 01:45 PM

talking bout that, I have to re-read the message,

Quote:

That's what you wanted to say? Even if what you are trying to say is that at the end the girl feels beautiful and the boy sees her beautiful, why make everyone see that beautiful = you?
this part somehow,I dont know,it feels like kinda rude and well the way I read it I cant read it calmy, its somehow got the emotion like you are angry or something, I hope is not too sad with this, like someone taht you even know closely, said something like that, hope she didnt feel too offended.

Kazeyomi 29th November 2013 02:57 PM

I was one of those who said that people were taking too seriously the PV. BUT, Aura explained her disappointment very well in my opinion. She wasn't disprectful like some others who are whining "omg Ayu career is over :[[[ what are u doiiiin'" nor she offended Ayu.

Also, Ayu nicely explained we have to see the real ending. Without being rude herself.

She's too nice ;_;

I'm sorry you find my tweet to Ayu offensive, it wasn't my intention for it to be seen like that and I really took the time to write it carefully because I respect Ayu and wouldn't want her to feel sad about anything I say. Honestly I don't regret anything I said in that tweet and the fact that she tweeted explaining it shows she understood and wasn't offended by it. And to be clear, when the PV was uploaded it didn't say 'Short ver.' so there was no reason to think that there was more to be seen after a +5min PV. I wouldn't have sent her anything if they had uploaded a 2min preview.

Also, I clearly wrote that I know her intention wasn't to offend anyone but that the PV fails at conveying the right message and thus can be offensive if people don't think deeply in what Ayu was trying to say. And... for you the definition of true fan is someone who blindly follows an artist without expressing their true opinions? Well, then I'm not a true fan. I prefer to be an honest fan =)

And yes, everyone has a different perspective, maybe you saw nothing wrong in this PV and I respect that, but you also have to respect it if others did. Why expressing my honest opinion is disrespectful? It's MY opinion, and MY feelings about it, I have all the right to express them and I find more logical to tweet her my opinion about a PV than about her private life or relationships or people she works with as many fans have done before, which I find way more disrespectful.

Besides, I do think the topic of this PV is important, maybe not for you, but I asure you I have a perfect legit reason (which I have no obligation to share) to feel sensitive about the issue, as many other girls around the world (and guys too, obviously). And if I could I would have sent my tweet privately to Ayu and tell her why.

Btw, I just quoted you because you wrote your opinion directly to me, but it can serve as an explanation to whoever found my tweet offensive or rude.

Hi Nadia! It's true, you can't read my tweet calmly... it shows that I'm not complaining for the sake of complaining as despite writing, revising and rewriting it carefully my emotions still came through my words... lol As I said above, I can't sound indifferent when the subject of this PV personally affects me. But... that part you quoted read like that it's like I'm saying she's not beautiful, which I'm not... I just wanted to say that by doing it she seemed to follow the stereotype that beautiful = thin.

And well, I also hope she didn't feel sad about it... but I would't say we know each other closely at all to feel hurt by my words... I just happen to be a fan she met and remembers...

Wow... sorry, I didn't mean to write such a long pot to explain myself... but I don't want anyone to think my intention was to hurt Ayu or anything...

ayu_fantasy 29th November 2013 05:28 PM

Oh aura, so you're here... By the way, I'm not here to pick a fight.. My point is to highlight that ayu is still a human being... There are times in which a message in the pv is unclear or ambiguous, but she didn't do all that to purposely hurt a certain group of people. As adults, we should be mature enough to see this..

Anyway, I'm having my holidays so I asked my friends to watch this video, just wanna know if majority of the people find it offensive or not..

panda♥ 29th November 2013 06:09 PM

Ayu seemed to respond in three tweets -

ayumi hamasaki ‏@ayu_19980408 21h
Of course I will listen all my loBely's opinions anytime. But thing is that you all haven't seen the real ending yet. Don't worry ;)

ayumi hamasaki ‏@ayu_19980408 21h
The msg is how we feel about ourselves or have confidence after we have tried something really hard or serious- no matter what ppl think.

ayumi hamasaki ‏@ayu_19980408 21h
Most important thing is, She's fun and full of life, and her confidence shines, she feels beautiful herself <3 <3 <3

marcoba 29th November 2013 07:01 PM

Ayu is way too nice, just for explain eveything and make everybody feel good. But I do agree she just could've kill someone in the pv and is just that a pv... not need to go too deep in it's mean...
But Love to see her tweets and the keep calm and feel the Love photo :love

panda♥ 29th November 2013 08:06 PM

I'm thinking this "secret ending" is going to involve the super happy pretty beautiful Ayu persona ending up not being happy with herself or something. I hope it's unexpected.

emi♡ 29th November 2013 09:40 PM

I actually think that those of you who are saying "It's just a PV" are trivializing Ayu and her work just a little bit.

Especially based on the reply that she gave about the explanation, I don't think that Ayu sees her own work as "just a PV".

It's not going deep into it's meaning, just to talk about what happened in the PV. It's not rude or offensive, to talk to her (rationally) about what happens in her works.

mi|kshake 29th November 2013 10:23 PM

I thought both Aura's and Ayumi's comments were well put. Aura's tweet sums up how I feel and it was sweet the way Ayu responded.

channy 29th November 2013 11:06 PM

I've read through the last few pages and am now feeling as if my mental issues weren't that crucial at all.

Yoake 29th November 2013 11:39 PM

So, my interpretation of feel the love pv is close to Ayu's message. Happy!:D
Waiting for the Story's ending now.

Yumsushi 29th November 2013 11:49 PM

How is Aura's msg aggressive exactly? Have any of you people seen Kimmel's mean tweets?
Aura, thanks for posting that msg and I'm glad Ayu clarified.

truehappiness 30th November 2013 01:00 AM

I think it could come across as 'rude' or 'aggressive' because of the doubt in the latter half of the message. If I were Ayu, I'd be someone taken aback that someone would think that I had changed so drastically as an artist or whatever because of an incomplete video despite the last 15~ years of delivering certain messages through her performances/songs/interviews/etc.

This.

That's what you wanted to say? Even if what you are trying to say is that at the end the girl feels beautiful and the boy sees her beautiful, why make everyone see that beautiful = you?
For one, she HAD to be in the PV.
But this question is implying that Ayu is too self absorbed i her own beauty, which is clearly NOT the case.
HBYA is the perfect example of this.

pommy48 30th November 2013 07:21 AM

I think you guys are over-reading into what Aura meant.

I think she meant as more like it was the girl that was exercising all over, so in the end result...why isn't she the one portrayed as the beautiful choice?

If the girl was meant to be beautiful through her perseverance, then why did Ayu get the guy?

But since this is the short version, the questions could be answered by the full version.

I'm sorry, but if we're over-analyzing Aura's comments she's doing the same with the PV. For one, THIS. IS'T. EVEN. THE. FULL. VERSION.
For all we know, its just a dream sequence and the girl will get the guy as she is, or he'll see past Ayu and see her "real" self.
Aura is out of line, especially after having met Ayu.

ayu_fantasy 30th November 2013 09:53 AM

Ayu is just too nice!! She definitely felt offended by she's mature enough not to show it... Fellow AHS-er, having met ayu before doesn't give you more authority to criticise her work in her face.

And please don't give that "being honest with ayu is the best way to show that we value her work etc etc" reason. How many times did you tells your friends things like "Jane, no offence, but I think you are a selfish person, you cared only for yourself and besides that, working with you made me realise that you are irresponsible and calculative. I sincerely hope you'll change."

Do you tell your friends that?? I bet if you did, u'll create a silent grudge between your friendship which is destroyed by you yourself.

AyUmIXx 30th November 2013 03:04 PM

calm down guys, it's avex's fault for not putting "Short version" in the first place which has caused a misunderstanding.

i also don't find Aura's tweet offensive though, it's ok, ayu is an adult and she's been in the business for 15 years already, i'm sure she has been "immune" by much much worse comments.

And let's no forget it made sense the confident version of the girl was Ayu, considering she was an Ayu fan. That's why she was watching Ayu and listening to Ayu for the whole video.

This was just a very literal take on what "role model" means.

jon_the_d 30th November 2013 06:06 PM

Firstly,

true ending yet to be revealed will show the girl walking away with the guy as her true self, ie, the chubby girl not ayu.

Secondly,

I can't believe how up in arms some of you got about the 'message' of this pv about the attractiveness/unattractiveness of the girl, but didn't give a moment's thought to the fact that the 'dream man' is of course portrayed as a gorgeous hunk.

Double standards much?

You don't know what she does or does not feel lol And Aura's message was not even like that. Stop spouting bullshit wherever you go. You're stinking up the place.

I swear. Sometimes I feel like trolling Ayu, and being super blunt with how I feel, so that when people like Aura address her, you guys can appreciate what actual respectful criticism looks like.

She was not out of line at all. This is kinda what happens, you know. In the real world. When you offer your work up to other people. I think we should all be really grateful that the offended people seemed somewhat in the minority, and that people didn't crazy flame or harass Ayu over twitter or something.

@jon: actually, people DID bring that up a few times. And people also brought up how it's a bit insulting to him, that he didn't pay attention to the girl when she was fat (if that's what happened, but since it's not the real ending, who knows).

she is a human being, it doesn't mean you can throw whatever at her. 5, 10, 15, 20 years, she will still be a human being. Imagine if everyone would start doing that, she'd go crazy! She obviously cares and felt something ebcause she responded in the first place, so you cannot say she's imune to stuff like that. especially wen it comes from your own fans, i think it could have been put in a different way especially when it's internet and 50% of communication info is lost due to not being able to see the person's face, hear the voice and notice body language.

so what? you don't start a message to someone you admire nicely and end it by accusing them or tearing them a new one. Ayu met Aura in person, which IMO makes this even worse because its not just someone from a screen somewhere.

Deibel 1st December 2013 12:28 AM

I just don't see what's wrong with Aura's tweet. Its the main fact that she expressed a negative opinion? That's the feeling I have after reading this thread, 'cause I haven't seen any good argument yet.

How bad can be that someone who loves you tells you the truth? Who will, if not you? I'm into artistic things, and I truly hope people tell me the truth about my work, specially those who love me/my work. Aura spoke with respect, otherwise, ayu wouldn't have answered her. And she did, and she didn't seemed offended at all. Feedback it's very important, and a bad opinion is more important than a good one, because it will make you grow and see things from another perspective. (always with respect, of course).

It seems that we only have to tell her "I love youuuu, keep going that line!", but not a negative comment, while both are necessary at the same level.

PD: And meeting her in person doesn't make Aura a better or a worse fan. She was so lucky to see her, just like much other fans. She's not her personal friend or something. Ayu follows her in twitter, so what? At most, it means that ayu reads her tweets and takes the consideration to answer (something which she have done with a lot of other fans, btw). In fact, I think it's the opposite; if someone who you personally know tell you a bad review, you will give that person more credit than a stranger's one.

PD2: I don't think Feel The Love PV is incomplete. The story will end in Merry Go Round PV. That's why avex didn't put "short ver" in youtube. 'Cause that's actually the full version.

What if the next PV was a prequel where the guy really liked her but he was nerdy and figured getting buff would make her notice him? Ayu doesn't tend to make story driven PVs with no meaning so I think it's way too soon to be getting pissed off or upset about one video in Ayu's gigantic catalogue.

Everyone's just jumped to opinions here and concluded their thoughts about the PV without waiting for clarification or...........anything, really.

I loved a lot of aspects about the PV and hope she continues storied that have fun aspects in them over the endless "boyfriend dramabomb" stories as of the last few years

I'm sure you didn't want it to be seen this way (I hope so at least), maybe you thought everyone would see an 'accept the way you are, and others will' message. But to be honest, if that's what you wanted to say, it's done in a terrible way. Everyone, specially women, will see it like 'Poor fat girl, the hot boy won't look at her twice, unless she is thin'. That's what you wanted to say? Even if what you are trying to say is that at the end the girl feels beautiful and the boy sees her beautiful, why make everyone see that beautiful = you? Not that you are not beautiful, you are, but the girl in the PV isn't? I know I'm probably taking it too seriously, but this is a tricky subject you wanted your PV to be about. Women are constantly being told how they must look and this PV doesn't help. Surely the comical treatment of this PV is because the song is cheerful, but it's not nice to see that the 'fat girl' is the one being mocked, running around eating chicken, falling, breaking brooms... etc... I don't know, it's like the opposite PV of 'How beautiful you are', that one was so beautiful and had such a powerful message... I'm sure you are still that Ayu, but please, check out the scrips for your PV's, think about what will people see in it, you are an influential artist and you have to care about what young girls will see from you, I wouldn't like your young fans to think that being overweight is a reason to be mocked or to not being loved. That's my honest opinion, hope you'll read it. I'm not hating you or anything, I'm still looking forward to Mery-go-round and its PV, and everything you do. But I don't like to see this message coming from someone who has been my role model in many aspects and is still my most loved artist in the world. Love you, Aura

Yes, this message: one person's opinions, full of questions, "idk's", a little bit of self doubt, care for other fans, and a shit ton of "I love you's", is definitely tearing Ayu a new one.

I don't think I have ever seen such flaming in all my life. This Aura is a badass. Y'all better watch it.

Zahara 1st December 2013 01:35 AM

Wow, that was the message? And the lot of you are complaining it's aggressive?

I swear, it's like most of you are just looking to pick a fight. The message isn't even that bad and it's pretty positive and constructive with its criticism. You CAN disagree with an Artist, even one that you like.

yes of course she's human being like any of us, if we were talking about aura's tweet, it seriously doesn't sound offensive at all. and in this case, it's all just a misunderstanding, if avex put the right description on the PV title, short version, i'm sure Aura wouldn't go rant at her, like Aura has explained herself.

hmm i don't know, but imo, she could be standing in the industry for 15 years, i'm sure she has been so used to the negative comments already, i remember she tweeted about that or said it at somewhere else, she said that she doesn't even care anymore. and in this case, i think ayu knew that avex made a mistake about the PV title description that has already caused a misunderstanding among the fans, so she felt that she needed to explain herself which is good and i really love her for explaining in a long english tweet which she never did before.

i don't mind if fans want to give their opinions about ayu's works to her at twitter/facebook as long as those fans do it with respect. as fans, we can sometimes feel disappointed too. though, me personally, even if i don't like something from ayu, i won't go rant at her, because i'm not sure if she's gonna read my tweets or not, LOL, so i'll just enjoy it. but yeah, we are all human beings after all, we have all different opinions, but respect is most important thing even though we are different.

Short version is now what is on YouTube and been edited into all of her videos. We haven't seen the ending yet. You can't think that random fade out is in the actual PV... and if it is, that is odd.

Merry-go-round is likely not connected to Feel the love. At least, I hope.

In the case of the PV, you need to go after Avex for being a dumbass and not putting the "short ver." in there when they had to. As for everything else, people need to slow down a little and have patience when it comes to things like meanings bechind the PVs, etc., cuz that stuff can be so easily missunderstood.

Chucking in my $0.02 again but this precisely.

I'm seeing this chick in the PV is more "putting on Ayu" than "becoming Ayu".

Ayu in the background, Ayu chilling with Hello Kitty for some reason while she works out. Heck, when I saw the preview image in my YouTube notification, I thought that she was Ayu hamming it up with hipster glasses....she actually does look similar to Ayu in some aspects...

The way I've viewed this PV is that the girl is motivated to do something about herself and impress someone she likes. She works hard with Ayu supporting her on. By the end of the track she "puts on" Ayu (who yes, is small and skinny, but bear with it here). Ayu has been there all along and she's confident thanks to Ayu's support. The face might be Ayu but the mind and heart are of this protagonist.

In a lot of religious texts, there are references to "putting on" Christ, meaning that you should take on the positive teachings of Yahweh/Jesus in your everyday life. Not to equate this PV with the Bible but keeping that train of thought in mind while watching this, Feel the Love isn't about how you "have to be small and Japanese" to get a boyfriend. It's about putting on the confidence and getting out there to make a positive change in your life.

Not everyone needs some deep personal reason to do things and changing things about yourself is not always a bad thing. Some people use clothes to motivate themselves to get fit, some people are worried by an illness in the family. Maybe she was just sick of being overweight and uses him for inspiration? Maybe the PV is just an elaborate dream sequence?

Some people just don't want to be overweight for some reason and that's OK. Other people are perfectly comfortable being overweight or underweight or whatever and that's OK too. We're getting too caught up on the political correctness here - would it be the same reaction if the woman was Japanese?

Feel the Love isn't indicative that Ayu is a fat-shaming, skinny-glorifying xenophobe who wants to make fun of people - give her more credit than that. This is the same Ayu who champions gay people in popular culture, gave us videos like Endless Sorrow and HBYA. The gun was well and truly jumped on this video.

Avex artists don't seem to have a good track record of releasing "part 2" PVs (how many of Namie's PVs are "to be continued"?) so maybe this time they just left it off? Or maybe Ayu's down at Avex HQ right now slicing some heads :rambo

ayu_fantasy 1st December 2013 04:15 PM

Seriously, people, why go rant to ayu how much you disagree with her work? This isn't the 1st time this is happening... I realised some ahs-er actually complaint about every single thing she does... Her dress, her make up, her pv, her concerts etc... Well, if you are so unhappy with her work, you can just leave.
I do have friends who are ex-ayu fans, they are no longer interested in her work anymore... And they just stop supporting her... Well, that's the thing you should do instead of your constant bashing..

maikaru 1st December 2013 04:41 PM

I also agree that it's not about the girl being Ayu, it's about the girl invoking what she sees on the Television, and becoming her idol, gaining the courage to do something from the woman she watches on the TV. It just makes sense - How could she be the same woman from the television, when the woman on the television already exists before she transforms. She's just invoking the feeling that she gets when she's listening to or watching Ayu, and she feels like she's as cool and as beautiful as Ayu is in the final scene of the short version.

Ayu said that we haven't seen the whole story of the PV - I don't think it's a continuation in Merry-go-round, because honestly it doesn't fit the lyrics of merry-go-round at all.

Maybe we should all just chill. Lol.

You are missing what people are saying. It's not complaining, she was bringing up genuine views that somehow you view as "complaining". It's not.

truehappiness 3rd December 2013 06:02 AM

I think it's pretty much textbook complaining since it expresses dissatisfaction in some way.

Anyway, Ayu's latest TA update seems to have mentioned the 7days Limited blog... looks as though she was forced to write in a certain way compared to her TA blogs.
