RUN FREE feels kinda out of place to be honest, I would have been fine without it. I did like it as a digital single though, I just don't like it within all the album songs, it's a bit too messy for me. |

LOVELAND is my first Miliyah album, and I'm really enjoying it. :) I've always ignored her in the past because I'm not at all a fan of jr&b (or r&b in general). I do agree that there aren't really any standout tracks, but that's one of its strengths to me. I love how smooth and cohesive it is; it really feels like an album, which is saying something considering it's jpop and all the singles came out long before the album was being conceptualized I'm guessing lol. My faves are Lonely Hearts, Shape of Love, Love/Affection, kamisama, and One Night Only :heart
I did try TRUE LOVERS since it was also recent but after three songs I shut it off 'cause they were all waaay too long for my taste. :\ |
^ You could try HEAVEN (album). WHY, Sora, Free, Destiny, BFF and ByeBye are amazing songs (in my opinion of course).
I don't care for RUN FREE either. I kicked it off my iTunes :laugh Kamisama is still my favorite :heart |
I love her new album. So good. I need to revisit her discography...Miliyah somehow dropped out of my life and I'm not sure why!

After a few (alot) of listens to the album I can say that I really love all songs except for PRIDE and One Night Only.
You're Beautiful has grown on me alot and it's one of my favorites now:D RUN FREE does feel out of place but it's a good and fun song so I don't really mind. This album is on par with Heaven and TRUE LOVERS for me.:yes |
I adored Heaven, I remember running to Tower Records and picking it up a couple days before I moved back to the States, and it's been one of my favorite albums ever since. But yeah, for some reason Miliyah just kind of dropped off the map for me ever since then...maybe I was so obsessed with Heaven, I just didn't pay attention to what she came out with afterwards? (LOVERS pt. II w/ Wakadanna excepted...I've had that song stuck in my head for almost a year)
Anyway, my point is, I really liked Lonely Hearts and thought Love/Affection cw Kamisama was great, and I'm really enjoying Loveland! So much so that I'm working my way backward through her entire discography now. :P Up next...TRUE LOVERS. |
Another newcomer impressed by LOVELAND here! It really is such a cohesive album, a pleasure to listen to. I disagree about the album lacking standout tracks, many songs jumped out at me right away! My favorites are Love/Affection, UNIQUE, Kamisama and Jounetsu to Reisei no Aida. One Night Only and Loveland are kind of meh for me, but all the other songs are on a scale from "This is really good!" to "I LOVE THIS". If Miliyah's other albums are this good, they need to get into my ears yesterday. :)

I've miss a bit, but I saw the PV of Sakura Melody the other day. Those covers are horrible, but their collaboration cover art imagery has been bad for a while. Both covers look like complete advertisements for God/Jesus. >_> However, I'm totally buying it. Limited Edition cover is probably better than regular I think. I LOL'ed in Sakura Melody when Shota was checking out that huge bottle of Ketchup around 1:36 mark.

Another newcomer here (I've heard of her but never listened to her songs)! I've downloaded LOVELAND earlier and I'm already at You're Beautiful. It's not a fabulous album but for me it's a breath of air since I don't listen too often to jr'n'b. My favourite songs are Shape of Love and UNIQUE. But why is she eating pasta on the album cover lol?

I think LOVELAND is a great album, but it can feel a bit slow I guess. I think everyone here will agree with me that 'HEAVEN' is the best album for people who are new to Miliyah

@waterballoon I do (well, on the best single ever statement). DESIRE/BABY!BABY!BABY! is really one of the strongest singles ever in Jpop probably. I think I love BABY!BABY!BABY! a bit more than DESIRE, though. And Ain't no other (the b-side) is amazing beyond words for me. For some reason because it's so underrated I prefer it to both A-sides, really. I really can't tell which is my best Miliyah song, though. There are many, many masterpieces to choose from.
