New RIAJ Certifications -Full Songs-
So RIAJ posted on the recent month certifications for legal downloads the got piled up for full tracks (full songs) and ayu got some which was pretty nice to see.
You & Me, how beautiful you are and crossroad getting a certification and others that got gold, were a bit more popular than we initially thought (because they got "only gold" on that time). The more suprising is that SEASONS is one of her most popular song but it's Teddy Bear who gets a Gold Certification and Seasons none at the moment lol

SEASONS should be one of the songs that were sang the most in Karaoke in Japan ever though. XD

Pray got nothing in Japan, at all. Not yet at least. The movie didn't premier yet right?
I updated with the full list (full song and chaku uta). Most songs are 2004 onwards, probably because it became able and popular 2003. Voyage never got a certificate but it was the #5 most sang song in karaoke in Japan on 2003. Sorry for the teddy bear(t) typo lol. |

So happy for You & Me's certification. That song seemed to become so unpopular that it made me sad since I love the song. It's awesome that it was somewhat popular after all♥

Yes it's a hot mess for pray A BIG hot mess XD the song makes a really good debut in the charts (Recochoku/Itunes/mu-mo etc...) but nothing has been made for help the song to remain in the charts not even the movie who has flopped lol Though the song is not gone yet ! it still charts on Itunes and Recochoku !
Yes I remember too that Hanabi in 2002 was one of the most downloaded songs in ringtone format but RIAJ only began to give the certifications since 2004 ... so I don't know lol |
Yeah, it's annoying that if it didn't happen since 2003, it won't get certified.
But ayu's phyisical sales were on the top for Japan on that time so it's cool. Did the movie premiered in Japan at all? I don't think it's even on Cinemas yet. |

so surprised that CAROLS hasn't made the list considering the fact that it's one of her only 2 million certified chaka uta! and i'm so happy seeing You were... scan platinum, that song and its lyrics 're everything i want from Ayu! hope that someday Ivy will be on the list!

I think there are high chances japanese would really like that, I mean, it's a moving, tearful, kinda sad ballad, japanese are suckers for those. Such a shame, it's so pretty. Always knew You&Me was gonna make it, it's Ayu actual last hit! (and I love it! <3) |

ayu's momentum's full song was certified gold for 100,000+ legal downloads last month on RIAJ!
Probably performing it on the CDL gave it a boost!! ayu's performances really blast and make people love songs that are not even single/promo songs! |
So, her overall digital sales for full tracks are 4,300,000+ downloads...

I updated the full list. I'm glad that some old hits/songs get certifications besides the stellar physical sales they had. |

Most people who download stuff at recochoku (12-25 years old, probably) were too young (or even not born yet) to get interested in Ayu, but maybe remember some songs and got interested by low price + a-nation.

It could be sold for 100 yen, if people would not be interested on her, it wouldn't chart at #1 by two weeks in a roll. Shizuka Kudo's best costs the same 771 yen and it's #5 today (already excellent position)

But they have discounts for a lot of best albums, it just means that A BEST is one of japan's favorite best albums =)

Yeah, that's right, but the discount price isn't the same for all Bests.
Ayu's and e.g. the one from TRF (also Shuizka Kudo's), which are in front, have the smallest price from the ones I checked. Kobukoro's e.g. is still above 1000 Yen like some others. So the reason is more, they're generally popular artists and have a good price at the moment. :laugh Every Little Thing is impressive - still over 2000 Yen and having a great position nevertheless. |
It's still great despite the price cut...that's like £5 or $7US...most albums are discounted to that kinda price on iTunes after 2 or 3 years of release. Hell, even some new albums on some digital sites are discounted to less during their first month of release.
Also..I see it made it to number 6 on the monthly chart for August..if it continues to sell like this..she's easily going to be top 5 or even top 3 for September. |
