Dear Fans

I haven't sat down to write you guys in SUCH a long time. Long overdue! We're all so used to getting our thoughts out in 140 characters, but sometimes its nice to take time to sit down and write something a little longer and more personal. I am putting the finishing touches on my new album, "Britney Jean" over the next few days and I am so excited for you to hear it. I poured my heart and soul into this album and it's been an incredible journey. I've learned a lot about myself, and as I am finishing, I am reminded of the incredible foundation that has supported me for the last 15 years. Thank you all for continuing to follow me on this journey and for allowing me to do what I love to do. I can’t believe this is my eighth studio album and I know I keep telling you that it is my most personal record yet, but its true and I’m really proud of that

I have been through a lot in the past few years and it has really inspired me to dig deeper and write songs that I think everyone can relate to. Working with people like Sia, William Orbit, and of course Will.i.am has been an amazing experience. They have listened to all of my ideas and helped me bring them to life. There are a lot of really fun, upbeat dance songs, but it was important to me that I show my strength, and my attitude, and my vulnerability. Of course, I also have some surprises for you guys ;)

I want to show you the different sides of Britney Spears. I am a performer. I am a Mom. I am funny. I am your friend! I am Britney Jean

Hope you love my labor of love!

Love Always
Britney

Some Piece of Me videos!

I really love the subtexts of the performances!

tokyoxjapanxfan 6th March 2014 07:10 AM

I actually liked the album lol.

I suppose I stopped being a fan after Oops...I did it again, and so I've been quite casual after that.

So iunno, I wasn't expecting that much :-p

toLOVE 7th March 2014 12:26 AM

Is she planning to release anymore singles for Britney Jeans? I really want a music video for Alien.

brener 7th March 2014 12:30 AM

I think the official audio release on VEVO of 'It Should Be Easy (feat. will.i.am)' and 'Now That I Found You' are serving as basis to see which song has more popularity among her audience. One of them may be Britney Jean's third single.

toLOVE 7th March 2014 01:52 AM

^ I hope not. Don't like either one of the songs.

NintendoHTF1242 7th March 2014 05:40 AM

It Should Be Easy has that really sexy instrumental break so...

Looks like the album didn't chart in USA this week.. It didn't chart in Japan either.

Zeke. 7th March 2014 02:04 PM

It Should Be Easy? oh, you mean It Should Be Pig Shit.

ayumisrael 7th March 2014 05:06 PM

Britney really flopped with this album eh? It was ineed boring though... The only good track was Til It's Gone. She doesn't sing anything save for Alien from the new album in her present show (probably because they knew how it would fare). Personal album but not interesting at all, at least she could have made it so. I hope the next one is more like Famme Fatal which was awesome.

So she is not a million seller anymore I presume?

NintendoHTF1242 7th March 2014 05:42 PM

I hate how she kept calling it her most personal album when the only personal songs were Alien, Perfume, Chillin' With You, and Don't Cry. Everything is standard will.i.am fare.

William Orbit should have done more tracks or just been main producer. The album would have been gorgeous.

@Ayumisral
Her present show is a biggest hits show, of course she won't sing the whole album, pretty much like Ayu didn't sung anything from Love Again during AT13. Still, Alien, Work Bitch and Perfume are on the setlist.

@NintendoHTF1242
Work Bitch is about her career... If wanna be where Britney is, you have to work as much as her. It's a trendy subject on pop music (Give me all your luvin' and Flawless** deal with similar subjects).

Body Ache is about performing, not about clubbing... About dancing on stage until her body aches to entertain her public... What actually makes a lot of sense considering her knee injury. The music even ends on a rather sad mood.

It should be Easy and Till it's Gone are both break up songs... Pop music have plenty of those, and we can't really know how personal they are... Tik Tik Boom is the standart sex song.

All the 3 bonus tracks deal with her relationship with religion.

Is the album as personal as Ayu stuff? Nops. But it's as personal as a Britney album can be...

Thank you. Guess I was too busy trying to find ayu-esque personal but guess this will do.

I don't know, how true it is, but she said that they'll include more songs from Britney Jean later on. But she could also be lying. Remember how her manager was emphasising that she would sing all the songs live at those concerts and how she had a vocal coach to train her to sing and dance at the same time, but from what I've heard she's lip synching all the songs on her Las Vegas shows, even the ballads.

brener 8th March 2014 01:14 PM

recently she failed her lip sync on Alien performance, awkward..

orangeakira 11th March 2014 08:24 AM

^You'd think after mastering the art of lip syncing for the last 15 years we wouldn't have to witness her mess up like that. Oh well.

My favorite songs on the album are tik tik boom, and alien, I think they both need to be singles. I have had ttb on repeat for the last week. I just wish it wasn't so short.

Surreal17 11th March 2014 06:26 PM

My favourite songs from BJ are : Alien, Till It's Gone, Brightest Morning Star and Hold on Tight (my favourite). I also like Passenger, Now That I Found You and Perfume (The Dreaming Mix).

You guys still remember isthisLOL? ? I requested a Blackout review and he was so kind to do one for me: http://day1day2day3.wordpress.com/20...ears-blackout/

Maybe you guys are interested? That's his new blog by the way and he will post every day one album review. I think it's a very nice idea!

NintendoHTF1242 6th April 2014 08:06 PM

Does he still visit AHS, or was he banned? I like his opinions and views but I just noticed he doesn't post anymore lol

Chibi-Chan 6th April 2014 09:52 PM

He was banned. Actually the mods said he just shouldn't be able to post for a while, but they never unbanned him as far as I know.
I find it questionable to ban someone like him for making a little bit trouble here and there but let other people post their racist/homophobic/sexist stuff all the time.

But I think he would be happy to know that there are still people around who liked his opnions and views and maybe some of you will follow his blog?

At his old one he posted also a Britney Jean (http://boldlydelicious.com/2013/12/1...y-jean-review/) review and one of the Perfume video (http://boldlydelicious.com/2013/12/1...g-back-simple/).

I like his Britney Jean review and it shows that Britney Jean isn't the shit people like to pretend it is.

adantatu2 7th April 2014 03:06 AM

I'm not a real fan of Britney, but I usually like some of her singles.
Is there going to be a 3rd single from this personal album ?

I don't like Work B!tch and Perfume is boring.

Danja: "Will.i.am Changed The Direction Of Britney Jean"

Quote:

“That was the information I was given as well. And when I started creating for the project that is the direction I went right into (something like a 'Blackout 2.0'). I guess with will.i.am kind of being in charge of the project he had a different vision and that’s what you got. Yeah, I was hoping it was going to a little harder and a tidbit darker. Hopefully the next one. We’ll see.”

“I think she’s made the perfect landscape with Blackout to do more urban-based records and not so pop and polished. You know I feel like we need to get back to the grit and grime a little with her being in the center. Pretty Brit among the hard hitting beats...She’s the originator of hard hitting pop and that’s what she needs to get back to. If she is not going to do that…then Rock. Either way it has to be edge.”
will.i.am is a name to talk about. Thankfully Miley didn't chose him to lead the executive production of Bangerz, because even though he worked on "Do My Thang", it's still a great song, same thing about "Fashion" (and I think Artpop would've sounded more audible if he had produced more tracks than just one). Williams can produce good songs (not everytime), but in a room with three or four people, but it seems that Britney let he take over the whole thing about Britney Jean, and that was when the album started to fall apart in my opinion.

rikku1994 2nd May 2014 07:33 PM

Britney Jean isn't really that bad tbh... It's just... Just another Britney Spears album~ (At least there's less auto-tune than usual)

marty 2nd May 2014 10:19 PM

^^
Interesting.
I actually don't mind some of will.i.am. stuff. It's just that everytime she does something with Britney, it's something I hate.
They just don't work together for me.

brener 3rd May 2014 12:30 AM

The problem is Britney Jean (the album), because he did a good job with Femme Fatale and #willpower is also not that bad, I really don't know why he messed up things this time :@

orbitalaspect 5th May 2014 04:28 PM

Because messing things up is what will.i.am is good at. BEP's The END was great... look what he did to The Beginning. It's the same issue with most of his work. He thinks his ideas are gold but they only have a shelf life of a few songs before EVERYONE is ultimately sick of hearing him.

Andrenekoi 7th May 2014 07:11 PM

Have you guys listened to this?

Chibi-Chan 7th May 2014 07:38 PM

^That one is great! Like it a lot more than the album version (not that the album version would be bad).

brener 7th May 2014 08:22 PM

nice =)

happiholic★ 9th May 2014 02:38 AM

I still haven't given Britney Jean a real listen. I just can't do it.

Also, very intersting that her "most personal" album would be the one to flop. But, I think that speaks to what people want and expect from Britney: manufactured pop crap. I loved Blackout and Femme Fatal because they are dancey, sexy and fun. I listen to Britney when I wanna shake dat ass, not cry.

I don't know, I don't mind Britney slower pieces, and some of them are masterpieces (like Everytime), and it's not like Britney Jean is full of ballads or insightful songs. Quite the opposite, actually.
I think it's flopping because 1) Britney image is not appealing anymore, her era is kinda over and 2) I honestly believe it's such a "meh" cd.

Both points are very true, but I think they could have been overcome if she had done what she does best. Let other people reinvent her pop icon diva look. Done yet another "comeback" album. As someone who hasn't really listened to the album, just going off of what I've read about the purpose of the album, it seemed that they were striving to make this album less diva and more... girl next door? From the name they choose, the cover of the album, etc., I think the marketing killed it. Because the album's music could actually be far from that, and be full of ass poppin' hits. But, I wouldn't know that because I don't want to bother to listen to it, based on what I simply think about the album.

Simply comparing name and the covers of the albums Britney Jean and Femme Fatal, just from those two things alone, FF seems like its a lot more fun.

But, that's just how I view it.

marty 9th May 2014 09:55 PM

^
Yeah, that's the point. Some singers have to reinvent themselves, like Madonna or Katy Perry. For other, this formula don't work, they have to do what they're known for, like J-Lo or Celine Dion, or Brit-Brit. They can experiment, but they need to be extremely careful doing so... They're not very versatile, they have a sound, they're very good at it and they can play with it.
And, anyway, it's not like Britney Jean is experimental. Far from it. I just found it a watered version of what she usually delivers, with few exceptions.
You're right, I think the album could have used a normal promotion, instead of this "more personal Britney cd evah" marketing strategy. Maybe it set our expectations on something different and that's why a lot of us are so disappointed. Because, in the end, Britney Jean is not even that terrible. Just... "mheeeee".

brener 9th May 2014 10:54 PM

I guess the main problem revolving this album is will.i.am, his production on Britney Jean sounds saturated, Brithey should have tried In The Zone producers once again, I call that album her masterpiece :heart

William Orbit, who largely criticized will.i.am for the executive production of Britney Jean, released on his own a remix for Alien. He used the Beautiful Stranger (Ray of Light - Madonna) sample for the remix.

Yesterday was Britney Day in Vegas: https://m.facebook.com/home.php?soft...pe=1&source=48

She looks amazing!

TeamAyu2004 6th November 2014 01:05 PM

i hope she does something new soon.
Britney Jean didnt do it for me.

Surreal17 6th November 2014 02:05 PM

These western pop artists take too long to release something new. And most of them release half filler after 2-4 years, like wtf X_X

Isn't she doing that Vegas residency thing? Don't think she will be releasing anything anytime soon :(

TeamAyu2004 7th November 2014 04:59 AM

if celine and cher can do it, then Britney Bitch can do it! :D

:yes She posted a pic of her in the studio a while ago.

Andrenekoi 7th November 2014 08:06 PM

She also confirmed it... There's no executive producer announced, so, I guess she will have more creative control over this one.

Considering the last times she had creative control over her albums we got Blackout and In The Zone, that's good!

CatGirl 8th November 2014 04:27 AM

I would give anything for will.i.am to NOT be on this upcoming album

Andrenekoi 10th November 2014 03:55 PM

^ He most likely won't.

Chibi-Chan 10th November 2014 05:07 PM

I'm very curious which direction this album will take. Maybe we will get it around March next year?

Chibi-Chan 2nd December 2014 02:19 PM

Happy Birthday BritBrit! ♡

Surreal17 4th December 2014 09:27 PM

We will have to wait a while for a new album.

Surreal17 13th March 2015 10:27 AM

F..k, not a good news.

Zeke. 13th March 2015 04:28 PM

Britney always takes forever to release an album. I have come to expect at least 5 years between just so that I'm not disappointed in her release schedule. Lol.

Besides, they are probably still trying to figure out how to do some damage control and recover from the atrocious Britney Jean.

Tom Punks 13th March 2015 05:13 PM

;___; Britney Jean was so tragic.

Chibi-Chan 23rd March 2015 04:38 PM

Loved that post:

oaristos 23rd March 2015 04:50 PM

^ LOL! That's good philosophy!

Delicious n Bold 23rd March 2015 05:17 PM

Yaas queen, time to change the meaning of the word bitch!
You wanna hot body? Better werk bitch!

happiholic★ 28th March 2015 05:20 AM

I found that "Bitch" thing to be so overdone. "I'm a bitch and proud!", blah blah. Actually, a bitch is a female dog. Britney's team is just riding the coattails of the "Its Britney, bitch!" intro and people trying to make the word "bitch" a positive.

Chibi-Chan 28th March 2015 12:35 PM

^I don't think that was the intention if the post.
I love the post because as a woman it doesn't matter what you do, you're a bitch.
• you're dressed "too sexual"? - bitch!
• you're dressed "too conservative"? - bitch!
• you're telling your mind? - bitch!
• you're not really open with your feelings? - bitch!
Same goes for the german equivalent "Schlampe". I mean, look at how often people here at ahs call women a bitch, just because they don't like a new song, album, PV, the list goes on.
The post isn't really about making bitch a positive one. It's more saying "you don't like that I'm saying what I'm thinking and doing what I want and therefore calling me bitch? Well I know I'm strong and emancipated, deal with it".
At least that's what I thought when I read that post.

KuuXAyu-fan 28th March 2015 02:23 PM

^ I agree.

Anyway her new single Pretty Girls (ft Iggy Azalea) will be out in May 5! She's shooting the video soon. :luv2

happiholic★ 28th March 2015 08:38 PM

Whenever the word "bitch" is used, least in my circles, its just to someone who is being rude. Male or female. What that "bitchology" thing described was a confident, strong and mature woman. Not a bitch.

Chibi-Chan 28th March 2015 09:04 PM

But most of the time bitch is being used to especially disregard women. That's what that bitchology thing was referring to. =)

happiholic★ 29th March 2015 05:42 AM

Again, I don't really see anyone going around calling confident, mind speaking women bitches unless they are being really rude. Just my experience.

Chibi-Chan 11th April 2015 01:26 PM

Britney just shot the music video for Pretty Girls together with Iggy. Seems to be visually 80's influenced!

kaled kalil 11th April 2015 02:36 PM

The video seems cute, with pink water, a carwash, a dance scene with only boys and Britney. I can't wait!

Chibi-Chan 22nd April 2015 10:21 PM

Britney and Iggy will perform Pretty Girls at the Billboard Music Awards.

Delicious n Bold 23rd April 2015 03:54 AM

I can't wait!!!

Surreal17 30th April 2015 11:24 AM

I'm really curious for this song!!!

The stream is at the bottom of the article
I like it but nothing beats work bitch. I quote that song to this day. Just ask all my friends how many times I've asked if they wanted a Bugatti, Maserati, hot body, etc. They better werk, bitch!

stickyrice 2nd May 2015 09:24 PM

I like it just for the fact that it's "something urban and cool" as Brit probably would describe it lol I was getting tired of her dance tracks so if this is what I can expect with her album, I'm all for it. Give me some Urban-ey Spears this era <3

NintendoHTF1242 2nd May 2015 11:21 PM

That was awful lol

Chibi-Chan 2nd May 2015 11:39 PM

No! y_y it has been removed.

Zeke. 3rd May 2015 12:27 AM

It's horrible. How can you even call it a full track? Lol. It's more like a jingle. Can't believe it got a video and everything. Thinking about all the "work" that went into this song and it's such a throwaway. How in the Hell can you be proud of something like this? It's SO stupid.

Chibi-Chan 3rd May 2015 12:40 AM

Mh? When I tried to listen to it, they told me it was removed... Can you guys still listen to it?

I had to search google and sort by "posted within the last hour" and weed through link after link before I found one.
