TeamAyu receiving massive power-up in Fall 2014
 

So along with the tour and album, they have announced some new changes for TeamAyu starting in the Fall! I might get some of these wrong, so please correct me if I am!

* PC/Smartphone newsletter that can be accessed any time will begin circulation

* Download services via TeamAyu will be upgraded (things like photos/calendars/wallpapers), giveaways of 'private items' of Ayu's will also take place

* Deepening the connection between Ayu and TeamAyu with the implementation of a live Q&A corner so that fans can chat with Ayu in real time. Documentary films will also be regularly uploaded giving TeamAyu the inside scoop on rehearsals, production, and other behind the scenes happenings

Current services like Ayu's blog/diary will still continue and other new services are in the works to be revealed in the summertime

The live Q&A is intriguing. I wonder just how they'll do it... Skype/UStream/YouTube Live? How will they keep it to TA only?

That's what I asked myself as well, haha.
I guess with her "new" life with her husband in LA.. maybe that's the reason.
Also for that Q&A thing, when she will be so much in LA, to be a littler closer to her fans in Japan perhaps. It's interesting.

Or she simply noticed that her 15th anniversary wasn't that special. I enjoyed the tour very very very much and LOVE again but it was all nothing exraordinary. What she is doing this year looks very promising though.

Oh the live Q&A will be fun! Sometimes I envy those TeamAyu members.

This is the sort of thing TA Members got back before her peak, when her fan base was still growing and was kinda small. This is AMAZING news.

TA is turning into LittleMonsters.com. They have a live chat section with Gaga on that site too. It's a nice idea. Too bad that I have no account on TA so I can't see it but I'm happy for everyone else~ :)

So I will continue my membership this year as welll hahahaha. I have it until August, will have to renew it. I just thought that maybe I shouldn't because everything leaks fast (even if I sometimes get to see stuff before others) but now these are great reasons to continue it!

Can't wait to see it =D It's right after my new membership will start.

lol maybe ayu likes 16th anniversaries more than 15ths?

Even though the 5 releases in 5 months thing was pretty exciting at the time, just that instead of 5 singles it was like 2, a classical album and a DVD/blu-ray release inside of it, rather than a lot of new material like everyone most likely wanted.
The most exciting release was LOVE again, but a lot of it was already released, and it has a lot of the usual ayu sound, so that whole thing probably let people feel less celebrative =P
She also had a 15th anniversary tour. But I think that new stuff are more exciting, maybe in anniversaries, old stuff shouldn't be celebrated but new stuff should, or a great mix of both with loads of new stuff. Or something like that.

About 10 years overdue..finally Avex/Ayu catches up.

20th. In Japan it appears that most popular acts celebrate anniversaries every 5 years, especially after their 10th one.

Then... why did she (or they) fill her twitter profile with a 16th anniversary theme? :laugh

Shes finally had a nice long rest and had time to review some things :P

Because maybe ayu and avex lurk AHS and they see what things us foreign fans would like her to change or do better, so they wanted to upgrade the anniversary to something better than the 15th one. ;)

I think that in the near future they will expand TA overseas due to what ayu has been doing lately :)

This one fanclub I'm in (not for a Japanese artist though) does weekly live Q&A chats through Ustream, but it's obviously private/filtered for fanclub members only. So I imagine it might be something like that? I don't know the specifics about it, but you basically need to log in to the fanclub site to be able to access the chat.

This is so cool, though! What an interesting revamp.

TA got a message a few weeks ago that the update will be coming in October.

The personal item give away thing is the most intriguing. She has given out things through out the course of her career, but TA only is quite rare nowadays.

Is the new TA format only availabe for A course members?

Those who payed before October will receive several TeamAyu magazines over the year. Maybe after that they'll be online only, I don't know. I think I won't be getting physical member card:-( I wonder where I can view digital one they wrote about.

But maybe that´s the reason they only have one kind of membership now that is as cheap as the B grade before.

I think maybe they'll switch for magazine pre-order thing for those who really need it. I was wondering if it's possible to pay for tickets by credit card. I really want to participate in lottery myself for the first time :-)

Does anyone know what does the "ayuセレクトアイテムプレゼント" gift item select thingy is and what do you do with it? Do you select one of the times or anything? How does the whole thing go?

I think it´s a gift that ayu selects and then all TA member can enter for winning that gift.
This month it is some kind of beauty item, body oil or something like that, 3 member can win it.

I agree! Especially now that they won't be sending any physical things, I guess you don't even have to have real Japanese address or you can can create and use Tenso one and you won't have to pay for it. And c'mon, membership's only 3400 yen now. I think it's a really nice way to support Ayu and it's pretty rewarding.

It's easier said than done becoming a member, they need to bite the bullet already and open up international membership (since her world wide fan base is climbing, mainland is sliding). Koda Kumi did recently for her international fans.

3400 yen...that's so cheap. Gone are those two tiers at 4000 and 6000 yen...I'm glad they replaced it with a CHEAPER (in all costs) 3400 yen plan. Almost EIGHT years since I first jumped into Ayu and J-pop...I might consider joining TeamAyu at the end of the year (to keep an "even" cycle with the Room Ayaka fanclub that I already have). Pretty convincing - 3400 yen = $30/year? That's actually cheaper than the Room Ayaka fanclub (4200 yen)! (Also cheaper than Sayuri Sugawara's (THE SxPLAY) mobile fanclub when taken into account annually?)

If I'm not wrong, the cut down the membership fees as they're not giving out the TA mags/novelty/greeting cards for free anymore. You will need to purchase them from TAshop instead. So for those who are interested in getting them, this is actually a downgrade as the cost is higher (Item price+shipping)...

New members and those members who renewed their membership in October won't receive any physical bonuses, such as as Kinix said greeting cards, novelties, TA magazines and posters and no physical TeamAyu member card. There's no word on whether you'll be able to purchase them separately or not. It's also unknown if they stop sending physical things in a year when old members renew their membership. But everyone gets an exclusive online magazine and all digital things TeamAyu has to offer as well as concert tickets pre-ordering. It's perfect for me since I don't really need physical stuff.

Me too! I don't really need physical stuff - right now that's being reserved for the Room Ayaka matter! You know how ***expensive*** it can be when shipping from Tenso, and even then the hassles of EMS (inconvenient when I'm busy at school)...

But yeah, the digital magazine. Maybe the digital copy of the physical magazine? Or are they going to be separate together? This is something that could make or break my decision whether I want to join the "new" TeamAyu...

However you see it, the recent changes to TeamAyu either be good or bad depending on how you see it. Bad for those who really likes physical goods since they no longer include it in their only (3400 yen) plan, but good for those who doesn't like it or aren't really interested in them, like me...

Hmm... Now my decision about joining TeamAyu is in doubt...I still have until December to decide. But I might still be leaning towards joining. I mean, there has never been a better time to join TeamAyu since it's pretty darn cheap! But yeah, all that associated membership cost cuts also cut those physical goods, including magazines...but that's going to be optional, which might actually be good for me! We'll just have to see... It's still too early in the game...

I will still be getting the goods, it's really not that much more expensive as I buy things every couple of months on Japan anyway. And EMS arrives in just a few days, you pay higher money but it arrives safe and sound. Never had a problem with EMS...

The revamp site looks good, I wrote that I hope they have English translations again :)

With this digital tier there's kind of no reason not to join TA which hopefully is a membership boost for her, plus if it's less expensive for me I might be able to join a 2nd Japan fanclub :D

Hm, could it be that the old TA was just too expensive for people?
I'm sorry to compare it with Kuu, but as I'm in her FC, I can actually compare.
Hers is "just" 4200 Yen a year and has all benefits physical and digital for that price.
And it's like that from the beginning, didn't change.
Even with her new global one, it just came additionally for people worldwide with all content digitally.
Guess the old TA system didn't work out.
Hm, but it's sad for new members, that the benefits are just digital anymore.
