Mika's official website was renewed yesterday and there's a countdown to sometime Monday now... pretty mysterious as it's also visible on Miliyah's website. Rumors say it might be the PV :) Also, the CD+DVD limited editions will get a special tall package. We'll know more in due time :) |
I`m really looking forward to this release!
The song is good, especially the verses. The weakest part is sadly the chorus, pretty messy. Though it doesn`t bother me that much. Curious how the PV will be. Hopefully not just references to Spiderman or something. Glad we get some more info in Monday! :) |
SPYAIR provided the theme song for the 1st Spiderman movie 2 years ago & when the PV for 0 GAME was 1st released , the footages of the movie were included
I think the same thing will happen for Fighter , wouldn't surprise me if that will be the case But of course eventually when SPYAIR released/included the PV in both their single & album , the movie footages were not included but instead it's a full non movie promo related PV from start til finish |

The Miliyah CD + DVD cover is a contender for one the most awkward covers i've ever seen lol, looks like she decided to cut off Mika's arm while giving her best "dead horse" face :P

MUSIC used to be my personal favorite and the one I would usually recommend, but I think STAR is a pretty good first album to listen to. It shows the most diversity and contains some of her best songs IMO. If you like jazzy songs try out LOVE, it's a very cohesive album in that sense.

ahah, it's pretty awful imo.. Miliyah did ok, but Mika.. I can barely understand what she says at times.. not to mention her voice ugh. The auto tune edit didn't really help either. And come to think that this is going to be release worldwide... Would have preferred the Japanese version... At least the lyrics are actually decent, from what I can understand.

Quite honestly, I'm surprised not many people are suggesting LOVE as a recommendation for a first time listener. That's when I really got into Mika and though I adore MUSIC, LOVE is just so cohesive and addictive. Its one of the albums you listen to from track one to end without skipping any songs I feel.
Oh, so they made an English version of Fighter? Where are you guys listening to it from? Even if you guys think its bad, I'm so very curious to hear it because of that. LOL. |

I was really, really hoping that the Mika LESS/Miliyah LESS versions on the singles would be one of the girls singing the entire song, solo. Not (in the case of the Miliyah LESS version for example) oh, Miliyah sang this part, so it's just going to be instrumental. Does that make sense? I'm pretty disappointed by that actually. I get that it's still a ~solo version or whatever but it's pretty much half the song is just the instrumental version... |

Honestly Fighter/Gift should have sold more + charted much better , given the fact that each of their fanbase is quite sizeable
Somemore each of the songs in the single , let alone for both A-sides have tie in's , it's quite sad knowing it didn't do that well I hope this wouldn't discourage them for releasing more collaboration singles in future :x |
I would pay any amount of money to see them do a small collab tour together. Like, a Zepp tour, maybe? Take both of their best hits, rearrange them with new mixes/change the key to suit both of their voices...

I want to start completing my Mika PV collection more. The last CD + DVD edition of her album I bought was Voice. (After being quite disappointed by Voice, I was wary about how much I would like her next releases so went for the OS version of Star, which is now my favourite album of hers!)
I'm not sure if it is worth buying Greatest Lotus though. I'd love to own the Game and Candy Girls PVs, but there's only 8 PVs on there I don't have. The main reason I'm sorta put off is that it doesn't include all the PVs from Real. So I would have to buy the next collection anyway to get all her PVs. Unless she has anything planned for her 15th Anniversary? |

Two new albums are now listed for a November 5th release entitled "Tears" and "Dears".
Both albums will come in two versions each. sounds like two best albums to me, especially with such titles.. (tears = ballads, dears = others) but who knows... |

Dears will contain single songs from STARS to Hitoiro and Tears from Mienai Hoshi to Fighter... 2CD each, 10 songs per CD. We do not know yet if there'll be new songs but considering it's Sony, I wouldn't expect any and be surprised if there are. Also, the limited editions will have a special tall packaging |
I don't think those covers will be something Mika will approve but that's the thing for big major record labels in that sometimes what they do can be really degrading if not depressing to the artistes that they sign
Sometimes it's better to be managed under a lesser well known record label & in return , they treat/manage you much better That said , it wouldn't surprise me that only die hard Mika fans will get both albums . I don't think I will unfortunately :no |
