15th album title revealed to be 'Colours'

Finally, after all these weeks we have a name for the album. (partially thanks to mu-mo preorders going up) Seems like a pretty interesting choice to go with this spelling. Now, all we have to do is wait for a final tracklist that's in order (unless it already is? Welp.) and covers! PVs too, I suppose... we should see those around the next showcase dates perhaps?

It was getting kind of weird having to refer to it as 'the 15th album' despite knowing so much about it already.

Delicious n Bold 5th June 2014 11:46 PM

At least it's spelled in a way that I can agree with.

brener 5th June 2014 11:46 PM

yay we got a title, I was starting to get pessimist about it hahaha
by the way why do we have two editions of cd+dvd and cd+bd on mu-mo?

There are two?

Hm... one might be the TA edition with the candle and additional interviews.

Same, the proper way! Colors would have made me wince. Go Ayu.

Deep snow 6th June 2014 01:16 AM

Holy shit wow. Alright I'm okay with this title. As someone growing up with American English the title seems a bit odd, but the Queen hath spoken! Now full track list and covers and PVs!

Edit: where was this title revealed? TA? I checked the official website and they still haven't updated the 'Title TBA'.
Edit 2: Never mind, I just saw it on the other thread.

truehappiness 6th June 2014 02:06 AM

It's on mu-mo and Tower.jp at the moment. It should be at other sites pretty soon.

AyuGAME 6th June 2014 02:18 AM

its always confuse me as well, which one is a right word "Colors" or "Colours"?

I like the title...

Coelacanth 6th June 2014 02:21 AM

Hm.. I wonder if the title may have been inspired by the double rainbow they spotted on set while shooting one day (the photo Alvin Goh instagrammed).

They are both technically correct. American English uses "colors" and British English uses "colours" so it just depends on where you're from.

Also, I like the title it feels different and interesting.

pimenta 6th June 2014 02:35 AM

I like the title and the choice of spelling :)

Larisa-chan 6th June 2014 02:41 AM

Good, I'm satisfied with the album name, though surprised at the way she chose to spell it!!!

Max_ZZZ 6th June 2014 03:17 AM

yee canadian spelling ftw

AyuWorld 6th June 2014 03:18 AM

now cover, im curiouussss

Majutsu 6th June 2014 03:24 AM

Thanks for the update! That was driving me crazy for some reason, haha. Now I just hope the cover art isn't from the same shoot as "Feel the love/ Merry-go-round"...

RealLight 6th June 2014 03:52 AM

Good God Almighty, something that doesn't have "love" in, finally! And btw, that's a lovely title :3 not original, but it feels ''different'' in some way. Now, we just need some (good) covers.

Earth_maiden 6th June 2014 04:32 AM

Very happy with the title and the spelling! :D

orangeakira 6th June 2014 04:36 AM

I really don't give a fuck how it's spelled. It's a nice title though.

clover_bali 6th June 2014 05:06 AM

COLOURS?

similliar with 'Hello new me' lyric.
same concept with 'RAINBOW'?! LOL

Seiko Yua 6th June 2014 05:12 AM

i mean, in the title "The Judgement Day", the retainment of the letter 'e' after the 'g' is a definite british spelling. so "colours" isn't TOO TOO much of a shock... :P

i'm glad ayu is coming out with something you could dance to. i'm excited for this one!

is it? Judgment... hm that actually looks kinda weird to me, I think I always spelled it "Judgement".

tokyoxjapanxfan 6th June 2014 05:54 AM

I've never spelled judgement without an "e"...

Pieces_of_SEVEN 6th June 2014 06:00 AM

Neither have I...lol

CHAS_AYU 6th June 2014 06:12 AM

I like that, reminds me of RAINBOW
Hope we will have a PLAYBUTTON of Colours!

I hope we will got a new song COLOURS , it's remind me with RAINBOW album which I love it s much, hope there will be a hidden track.

pepper 6th June 2014 08:40 AM

I hope it will be themed as RAINBOW... Cause XOXO/Terminal photo session for free CD is NOTHING about the Colours... But maybe this photos will be in booklet?

I see...thanks for the explanation...

i feel that she use Colours because of ours part...it feels more interesting...

hopefully the cover will have a concept not just pretty Ayu picture

matt9210 6th June 2014 12:05 PM

Also joining in to give a 'HOORAY' for spelling colours right :P And it's a nice album title!

owlflight 6th June 2014 12:35 PM

As an American English speaker, I could care less how Ayu spells her album's name. It's not like I won't buy this album because she doesn't spell "colors" like I do. "Colours" is a good name and I just hope she doesn't go the obvious route with the cover. No more muted pink/orange please! But don't go with a similar look to the Next Level/15th Anniversary Live covers either! Surprise us!

Larisa-chan 6th June 2014 01:35 PM

The album cover will probably be in black and white LOL

Livey~ 6th June 2014 01:42 PM

^ With a big Colours where each letter has one colour in order to have the 7 colours of rainbow lol

Maybe that's why it's spelled with the U~ :laugh

Excellent observation!

Coelacanth 6th June 2014 02:59 PM

Colors/Colours... who curr?

Jeez guys. would Fleetwood Mac's "Rumours" be a less effective album if it were titled "Rumors"?

ayumisrael 6th June 2014 03:03 PM

Livey~ might be on to something. Maybe Colours font on the covers will be in the rainbow colors (which letter in a color) lol. Just guessing, but it might be just a normal font eventually.

Beauty4123 6th June 2014 05:29 PM

"Colours" is such a beautiful title for the album! :heart I'm looking forward to seeing what the covers will look like. :)

primavera♥ 6th June 2014 09:48 PM

I need these covers. I really hope for something colorful. Otherwise, I'll be a tad sad lol.

I want ayu in latex because latex is hot as hell

Refix 7th June 2014 05:45 AM

I wonder if the cover will be RAINBOW-ish or even become monochromatic like A-Best. Whichever it is, please deliver a good photoshoot with less tacky pose.

I was actually thinking about the same thing lol
....a colourful butterfly ayu standing/sitting on a bed of black/white roses (Endless sorrow cover!)

There are people on this forum who admit to using the cover of an album as the ultimate factor in purchasing it. How many times have you seen someone say "I'm waiting for the covers to see which version of the album I'll buy" or even "I'm waiting for the covers to see whether I'll buy the album or not"? I wouldn't put it past anyone on here to not buy it because of the spelling.

And I find that really stupid.

Of course I would like an amazing cover for every album, but it's all about music. It doesn't matter how great the cover is if the songs are crap.

adantatu2 7th June 2014 10:03 PM

If you're going to spend money, you want to have the most beautiful cover, lol.

Honestly, nowadays, you don't need a CD, you buy an album for the booklet and for the DVD or Blu-ray (if you like the videos and you want a good quality).

IMO.

owlflight 7th June 2014 11:17 PM

I buy CD only due to cost and I really only care about the music. I am interested to see what these covers will look like. And I hope to see a good quality version of the XOXO/Terminal cover at some point. I wonder if that cover is an indication of what the album cover will look like.

What? I buy CDs for the CDs because I don't download any of my music. I rip the CDs at a specific bit rate that I know I wouldn't be able to find online.

I actually find it useless to buy CD+DVD/CD+Blu-ray versions for myself; unless they come with special stuff that the CD version doesn't come with. Or if they're on sale (LOVE again CD+Blu-ray for $25!? HOLLA!)

orangeakira 8th June 2014 12:30 AM

The last cd I bought and put in my computer to rip was Namie Amuro's single TSUKI, so y'all can bet your ass I still buy cds to listen to. I download like there's no tomorrow, but I still buy cds all the time. Hell, I still own a walkman.

I also own a walkman. Somehow I think the sound quality is much better than iPod or iPhone :P

It's not all about music, it's about art, music is art, so covers have a great weight just like the songs. If it was all about the music people wouldn't spend time shooting covers, paying designers etc. Both music and art can't be split up. Think about CDs of a singer that you don't know yet, the first thing that would catch your attention are the covers.

i'd rather have a great album with shitty covers than a shitty album with amazing covers. At the end of the day, it's the music that we listen, we don't stare at the cover.

collectors do. people who buy an album for the cover. people who will never take their album out of the plastic. It seems these days as ayu loses followers, and her sales slowly decline the majority of fans is collectors and obsessors. people who buy an album simply to own it. people who must own a copy of every version of everything simply to own them. So yeah it sucks, but a lot of people really do buy albums just for the value.

If the covers are like Namie's Ballada, I'm not sure about that :dead2

I don't usually rip my CDs or listen to them, I download the songs. When I buy an album is to add it to my collection and sometimes just open it to appreciate the booklet and its beauty. And of course I'd rather have a great album with shitty covers than a shitty album with amazing covers, but what I'm saying is that we can't slip these two things, covers/booklet and music, both of them makes an album, one alone doesn't.

Walkman love!

It was the A Ballads cover that made me buy that album. And the fact that I was wanting some ballads but mainly the cover. I'd never heard any of Ayu's songs before I bought that album.
