What Happened to DIVINE AYU?

I had just went to go visit this website recently, and I noticed that this website hasn't been updated since 2013.

I'm quite sad that this website hasn't been updated, especially since it was moderated by someone who was quite clearly a fan of Ayu.

What happened to this site, and is there a way to contact this person and ask what's going on?

yoshino 11th February 2015 04:34 PM

^I noticed that too. Divine Ayu is the source where I look at Ayu's lyrics, but it's not updated for quite a long time already. I was wondering if the person got tired of updating? I didn't see where we could leave a message or email to the person though. >_<

tsumekaze_ 11th February 2015 05:08 PM

I found this email linked to the owner of the site (in the paypal thing where you can donate): divinefang@yahoo.com < maybe you can try to contact him/her here

NintendoHTF1242 11th February 2015 05:51 PM

I was wondering what happened to the owner as well, seeing as how they didn't have the Colours album lyrics up. I always go to them for when I want translations or I just wanna sing along to an Ayu song correctly, lol. If anything, the owner probably just lost motivation to continue the site.

Delirium-Zer0 11th February 2015 09:17 PM

Divinefang's fandom has been gradually slowing down over the years... one section would lose frequent updates, then another, then another... pretty soon it was only news & lyrics being updated.

I'm honestly shocked the site has continued updates as long as it has, I remember it launching when I was in high school (I graduated in 2002!! lol)

mi|kshake 11th February 2015 10:03 PM

I was wondering the same - I loved checking the site for the lyric translations! (See sig)

hayasaki 12th February 2015 08:05 AM

I also love divineayu. I used to download the midi files for my phone many years ago... :(

Sandy 15th February 2015 10:52 AM

Everything seems to be going down... Eneabba, secsecae, divine ayu... Soon, nothing's left. :( This makes me so sad...

attractive nausea 15th February 2015 12:08 PM

Yeah it's pretty sad, i go in the lyrics section very often, this is very useful because everything is there, but yeah the person hasn't updated since LOVE again. This is really sad to see people's fandom for ayu going away.

This thread got me thinking into creating a tumblr just for her lyrics translations! I'll try to make it happen if i have the time c:

tsumekaze_ 15th February 2015 01:01 PM

^ nice idea! would totally love it

ayu-butterfly 15th February 2015 01:45 PM

Misa is still updating her blog, at least with lyrics.

TeamAyu2004 15th February 2015 03:37 PM

where can you find her blog? (I think Misa is actually guy though, lol)

That's a brilliant idea!

I always wish there was a (proper) Twitter account for translations of her lyrics to. There did used to be a pretty good one but I can't find any active ones anymore.

Delirium-Zer0 15th February 2015 10:38 PM

Misa's translations are at lettersfromayu.wordpress.com (her lyrics section links to the ayu lyrics at her other blog, Misa's J-Pop Blog).

I'm translating her lyrics too (It's been a MASSIVE project but hey, ohsixthirty is a fan lol), but I'm uploading them one at a time over the course of the year for my song-a-day blog project, there's not any sort of lookup thing for them yet.

Eneabba is such a sad story.

Oh so much nostalgia on these sites! I was at junior middle school around 2003 when I check lyrics, screen caps, and cd scans so often!

LONJJONG 16th February 2015 01:50 PM

Yeah it was nostalgic! It's my favorite site along with Eneabba when I first jumped into Ayu's bandwagon. I still visit the lyrics section quite often though. I remembered I'd take times to load the CD scans due to slow internet and I saved every CD scans :D

Just stumbled on this thread while trying to find lyrics on DivineAyu. It seems to be cmpletely down now? :(

aliceshields 8th January 2019 04:44 PM

That’s sad, I used to be a frequent checker there when I first got into ayu.

Yeah, what happened to the site? Domain expired and the owner is no longer interested in maintaining it anymore?

May, I really miss those days... :cry

Aderianu 9th January 2019 02:07 PM

I saved all pages with lyrics

Teppei-chan 9th January 2019 02:32 PM

I always loved to visit this site. It was my first go to site if I wanted to read lyrics for many years. And I loved the midi section.
But honestly I'm Not surprised to see this site gone. It wasn't updated for so Long, it was Just a matter of time before it disappeare

EndOfTheWorld 10th January 2019 08:21 PM

I noticed it was gone too.:(
There was a lot of valueable content on that site that is now gone. If I knew it was going to shut down I would have tried to save some stuff. For a while Divine Ayu was my go to Ayumi Hamasaki website. I hate seeing Ayu websites go down because people aren't interested anymore.

I know it would be a huge amount of work and maybe way too much to ask for,
but do you mind to share that lyric part?

I never heard of wab.archieve.org ever before… great service haha :yes

oaristos 14th January 2019 03:46 AM

Oh, that's so sad... :weep I used that website quite a lot for lyrics, and also to look at older pages just for curiosity (such as this one). I don't know, it just feels bad when things from the past come to an end...

Thanks for sharing the lyrics, Aderianu!

It happened to namie years ago, till there was nothing left. But look at everything namie accomplished after that!! :P ayu will be fine.

YUKARI 11th March 2019 10:42 PM

wow this is so sad :(

I remember how it used to be on geocities or somewhere and there were old ayu CMs... not all of them got transferred to new website. it's been almost 17 years...

Ouch... Sadly I think this site started to go inactive before I ever even knew Ayu existed. But I think I'd seen it once or twice before it shut down altogether.

Hopefully Misa stays up for awhile.

douggn 18th May 2019 02:05 AM

If I remember correctly he or she wasn't happy with ayus choice is direction to supporting gay rights and shortly after how beautiful you are, they did say that they would no longer maintain the website with new stuff, due to ayu and them not sharing the same view :P

Hello, guys
Yep, that's what has prompted me stopping the updates.
However, people do not realise how much time maintaining a large website takes. The main reason that my website is not longer updates is that I cannot possibly spend one full day every week trying to maintain the website current. One has to have some life beyond the internet I think...
Cheers from still a big fan of Ayu, nick

xLuna&1LOVE 29th May 2019 03:19 PM

^ did you never consider to picking up the pieces - or let other fans help? Sounds like you moved on since the Lady Dynamite PV. Or don't you listen to her music post - Lady Dynamite?

Yes, I did consider it - but decided not to follow this up.
At the moment the website is "first 12 years" 1998-2010 and will stay this way. Whoever wants to can pick up fro there.
And I do have all albums, etc since 2010 as well. Listen more to the 'earlier' music, but some of the new stuff is not too bad either...
cheers, nick

Eneabba is still really helpful and I still use it.:)
The Ayupan guide and live performance guide are especially helpful.
It's nice to see such a long time fan and member still coming here to AHS.:yes

Thank you - that reminds me.
The only part of the website that is current (and I would like to keep current) is the ayupans.
Could I please be informed when (and if) new ones will be "out"?
cheers to everyone
nick
