According to the articles Aderianu posted, Ayu wants to expand overseas and she was looking for a collaboration with a Taiwanese singer. She chose JJ Lin because they have a friend in common it seems. JJ Lin is from Singapore but his career is based in Taiwan, I guess that's why she chose him anyway lol

Taipei, Feb. 14 (CNA) Japanese pop queen Ayumi Hamasaki arrived in Taiwan Saturday for Singaporean singer JJ Lin's concert the following day, attracting nearly 400 fans at the airport.

"Ayu! Ayu! Welcome back!" her fans cried out upon seeing the 36-year-old, who was dressed in a white lace frock and silver high heels.

It took Hamasaki, escorted by a dozen security guards, some 10 minutes to walk through the fans and get to her car.

Seven years after her last visit to Taiwan, Hamasaki is scheduled to be a special guest in Lin's concert at the Taipei Arena, according to her agents.

I'd cry out of happiness if we have another Asia Tour. Make a comeback Ayu! Judging by the number of fans waiting for her at the airport I can say she still has bunch of fans there so Asia Tour doesn't seem like impossible dream anymore.

JJ Lin wrote a song for her called The Gift! For those who don't know, JJ Lin writes music for lots of singers besides himself.
Is that song a collaboration?...
It's saying that Ayu broke into tears after listening to the demo. It's a difficult song to sing, but it's like a "gift from the sky".

Ayumi and JJ sang "Seasons" at JJ's Timeline Genesis Concert tonight at Taipei Arena. JJ started memorizing the lyrics by Romanization two months ago. He sang Ayumi's key and amazed all 10,000 audiences. Ayumi also revealed that JJ wrote a song for her titled "The Gift". JJ will flight go Tokyo to record the song for her. Ayumi said she cried after listening to the demo. The song is lovely but very hard to sing. It's like a gift falling down from the sky.

I think Ayu did good, but their voices didn't work together as a duet at all. I wish I could switch his vocals off. It seems that he was not comfortable singing in this key.

Yeah, like wtf. Her vocals...they've improved so much. The only time I could hear struggle and discomfort is towards the end of the chorus whrtrbshe has her highest notes. And even then, it wasn't really bad. And bless him, he sounds amazing.

They both sounded so good singing separately but together :( their voices didn't blend. It might be his style of singing cause ayu has no problems with other male singers.

ayu and jj sound awesome when singing alone but together at the chorus, they sound pretty awful. Their voices don't blend at all. :( Ayu usually sounds pretty good when collaborating with other male artists. But, with jj....... I don't know, It's not a good idea.

i think that SEASONS originally isn't a duet song and probably their rehearsal time for the duet was limited, that's why when they sang together, it sounded bit off. they still sounded pretty good to me though. still amazed by how well JJ Lin hit it with his high notes, it didn't sound force at all for me.

i'm still looking forward to their official duet song to come out before judging anything because they must have discussed how to blend and all. I'm sure they'll work it out.

I would give ANYTHING for a studio version of the SEASONS performance that Gackt did at the end of last year, and for it to be a duet between him and Ayu. I thought that rearrangement was masterful and it would be awesome to hear her vocals with it.

The ayu-ready show were done solely by avex for ayu, I meant duets that she is the guest and is more for the other artist. I also don't know about many duets that's why I asked. Voyage performance with SMAP I didn't know of so its pointless to throw into my face, since I had asked, has she done a duet like this before
